Was a bit disappointed for this to be $34... Fish was cold too

Came from out of state for a birthday, the venue was really busy and had a great vibe, we played some bare foot bowls and tried to order pizza after drinking all afternoon, they told us to come back in 45 minutes, so we did and we still couldn't order. People were feeling sick and after 2 hours of waiting, we still couldn't order. The bistro eventually opened at 5.30 and the line was huge and barely moving. We had to leave the party we had driven 5 hours to get to just to get some food. Staff were clearly stressed and quite rude. Very disappointed.

Do not go for burger night even though $10 sounds like a steal. The "Angus beef" patty tasted like and had the consistency of a used dish sponge.

I was a die hard ABC regular but due to the recent reduction in quality I will not be returning.

Jenna and the staff looked after the band very well and made us welcome. Very nice people good vibes.
Also the pizza was very good

Went there for my girlfriend's brother's birthday dinner last night. It was very good will definitely be back there soon.

The vibes are great, it's a very family friendly space. The food and customer service is horrible. The people working at the bistro seemed so unhappy to be there, and my food was lukewarm? I won't eat there again but will go back for the bar.

They also put sweet chilli sauce on their pulled pork nachos. My husband wanted me to note that this is kind of a strange decision.

It was really nice. The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was family friendly too. My bruschetta was dry as a bone, but that's my only complaint. Very nice afternoon. Thanks

Very busy local club...service was pretty good...beer was cold...but pizzas were just okay...

ABC have created a great outdoor area utilising the old green to add a huge number of tables and seats for additional customers and the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately they seem to not have factored this increase in capacity into an increase in kitchen staffing and equipment. This week we waited over 45 mins to place an order at the till while we stood and waited for buzzers and then it was another 1:15mins before our two schnitzels were made. Meanwhile dozens of people had waited over two hours for a pizza and they were asking for a refund. It should have been well known to the club that the place was going to packed with the Matilda's game and they should have added more kitchen staff, more buzzers, and a QR code ordering system. I felt sorry for the few staff who were rostered on and trying their best to handle what was quite an out of control situation. Management is responsible and should have planned better.

Great atmosphere and large outdoor area so great for groups. Their meal and drink deals on Thursday and Friday are amazing

A fantastic venue for my daughters 21st. So easy to organise, a great indoor and outdoor space. Staff were amazing - so helpful, responsive to emails. Food was great value for money and the area was really private. Thanks for an awesome experience.

Went with 30 + women for lunch. Ordered garlic prawns but they arrived cold and tasteless as other meals were. Thought maybe they couldn't cater for 30 + people so decided to try again. This time went with 4 people, had a steak sandwich which was very tough and yes, cold again. Pizza was quite nice but cooked in pizza oven not in same kitchen. Even asked some locals about food and was told the meals are always cold. Why???? Definitely won't go back again.

10/10 good pub. Very friendly staff, and lots of space to sit and play bare foot bowls. You can book in advance and just need a deposit for the gear.

Trivia is on Wednesday nights.

You get a free drink with a meal. Pizzas are decent. They even have a gluten free base as an option.

Great venue with very hospitable service.
The staff were very laid back and easy to work with for our end if year work party.
Will be booking future events here.

Went for an organised Xmas lunch. Catering was well organised and served with a smile. The food was most enjoyable.

The food and facilities were fantastic. Our guests commented regularly about the quality of both. It was a lovely day.

Atmosphere is very lively. However cocktail jugs not worth it, need fair bit more alcohol to make worth while

I love this place! A real life "Crackerjack" story about a Bowlo on the brink that reinvented itself with good food and quality entertainment. Now one of the best outdoor venues to watch live music in Newcastle. Book a table for $10 a head to watch the band and redeem your investment off your food bill! Brilliant ??'??

When I was ordering at the bistro the service was fantastic, I was handed a beeper and I sat three tables from the bistros counter, ruffly 10 steps away, after a few minutes I noticed a meal sitting on the counter for at least 4 possibly 5 minutes when another meal was coming out of the kitchen the plate that was sitting on the counter was brought over to me, after I tried a chip I noticed it was cold so I took it back and mentioned it was cold and I also mentioned I noticed it was sitting there for some time, they agreed and offered to re heat it for me, I also mentioned the beeper never went off and they said it didn't go off because we knew you were sitting so close.

This is a terrific family feel club with good dining options for everyone in tastefully decorated bistro.

Good atmosphere though the old bars and layout don't do it justice. Could do with a spruce up and would be a quality venue.

Saw a great covers band yesterday "Under Scrutiny" at the venue friendly staff great service .

Lovely food, efficient check in with QR code and staff checks. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We are locals and frequent the ABC regularly with friends but just want to warn anyone planning to visit that they need to expect arrogance and non-existent customer service out of the bar staff. We had a situation recently where a simple question about a service issue was met with a entitled and condescending response from the bar staff. Hopefully this can be rectified and the club go from strength to strength.

Great food in a friendly outdoor atmosphere. Food and drinks at good prices.

Our meals took over an hour and almost every meal was wrong in some way, or very poorly cooked. The staff are incredibly rude, beyond what might be reasonably overlooked for a busy night. I wouldn't choose to visit again.

What a great place to go to for a Sunday afternoon. The band had the crowd in their hands and the staff whilst run of their feet, were friendly and happy to help.

Food was typical pub grub which good for the price.

Absolutely kicking off there on a Friday. Lawn bowls, live music, great outdoor seating, top food and great staff. Great for family, young and old.

Great venue very relaxed setting, very family friendly. Great value meals wide choice, very pleasant staff, great coffee. Loved the garlic cheese pide.

Great place for functions and bowls. Parking is hard to get.
