Not hated, that's too strong a term. It was a Public Holiday and the hotel had the audacity to load a 10% surcharge..... for what, my brother-in-law enquired? The lady behind the counter merely shrugged her shoulders. The food was below averager. My brother in law visited the gents, and emerged grimacing.... toilets badly in need of renovation and dirty into the bargain. I live in Cape Town, South Africa, a so-called 3rd world country, but believe me, in my 40 years residence, I've never had occasion to lodge such a complaint regarding our hospitality industry.
