The Chatswood RSL bistro is a popular restaurant for lunch, achieving a near full house on the few occasions I've attended. Meals are a little pricey but are generally well prepared and in some cases are generous servings. Wait times are not too long, even during peak times.

I went to 446 Pizza Bar after a work meeting and found their food was on the top of the quality and great service!

Accidentally stumbled across this place in what I feel like was a "vision quest" of sorts trying to find KFC ? although my "roaring" twenties was spent at many RSL's, I didn't go in, but I was in awe of the beautiful Remembrance Garden full of flowers out the front. Took my breath away and so I took more than a moment to remember our fallen soldiers of the past.. Lest we forget. Attitude of gratitude always. Absolutely adored the giant poppys in the window overlooking the garden and really appreciated the beauty of the moment at night. What a stunning, reflective tribute and piece of peaceful nature in the city to stumble across- An excellent place to honour the brave and acknowledge our fearless, heroic ancestors.

Large RSL club conveniently located a short walk from Chatswood station and the shopping centres. In addition to allowing you to get your pokie fix and cheap drinks, the restaurant offers good food at cheap prices. Worth joining up to get the member discount if you're on the area frequently. Parking available on site, many bus routes from/to here as well.

Ordered the Quattro Fromaggi. The crust was delicious and all four cheeses with the honey and walnuts nicely complimented each other. Reasonably priced at $26 considering it is wood fired. Also 10% off for members.

I visited the bistro for my husband birthday and had a terrible experience. The waitress made me wait for ages before she served me, even though I was there first .She served the man after me even though he said I was next. She was rude throughout the whole service and the portions were tiny.
To top it all off, the menu and tables were filthy. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy .

The food is expensive and just awful and the service is provided by staff who look like they are at a funeral.

My first dinner was a beefburger that was served between two slices of toast - really! My complaint was met with excuses by the Management.

You would think that it could not get any worse the second time, but look at the pictures.
This was supposed to be a:

"CLASSIC BURGER
char-grilled wagyu beef patty, crispy bacon,
sweet onions, pickle, cheddar cheese, tomato,
butter lettuce, toasted milk bun" for $24.20

The meal was lukewarm served on a cold plate -
1. The beef was uncooked
2. The crispy bacon was cold and looked like a slab of fatty ham
3. The toasted milk bun was soggy and oily

I could go on but you get the picture.

There can be no excuses for the service of such food - it is embarrassing!

The food and beverage manager and the cook? need to go!!!

Always and pleasure to walk in to be greeted as a friend... The Bar staff are absolutely Fabulous and never seem yo Have Days off. Good food always get a park even if you have to wait all of 5min.....
Patrons could help the staff a little with cleanliness But the Girls and couple of Guys Are all over it and get it tidied up pretty quickly.

I arrived at Chatswood RSL just after 9pm on a Friday night after a quiet celebration with friends at the local bowling club. We were surprisingly denied entry by the security guard named Simon who was rude, stubborn and misunderstanding. He advised that we were "not to continue here" as we've "had enough" after a glass of wine over dinner. It made me feel discriminated against and unwelcome as he could not provide a valid reason to deny our entry. I highly recommend Simon gets retrained on how to communicate with regular customers as it's the last time we'll be attending.

Ordered steak med/rare with veggies and it was so under cooked that the meat was just bleeding everywhere ? veggies left from lunch time pretty sure, never ever going there again husband left with sore tummy.. what a waste!!

Very disappointed with my Seared Atlantic Salmon Fillet with Goat's Cheese and Potato Rosti, Baby Broccolini, Spanner Crab Butter and Petite Herbs @$36.30 for a non member and $33.00 for a member. I think the photo speaks for itself. There was no 'Goat's Cheese and Potato Rosti.' It was mash Potato and luke warm. The Baby Broccolini looked like Granma Broccolini to me with it's yellow, aged buds and it was nigh on raw. Please; if you don't have what it states on the menu, say so. At least I could have selected something else. And please don't place Granma Broccolini instead of Baby on my plate. Very unpalatable and the meal wasn't hot. The Salmon Fillet was burnt and overdone. Why is it the new norm to have to say whether you want your Salmon medium or well done? It's not Sushi, it's Salmon and cooked is fine thankyou. Now I seem to get everything in between and never what I want. I felt badly for my friend who paid for a meal I struggled to enjoy. Please step up your food here. So many regular members are all saying it's gone downhill. Now I'm seeing it myself. Come on Chatswood RSL, good food is simple.

Chatswood RSL has gone downhill quickly since the previous manager Tony retired. They no longer give you your first drink of the month free, they have taken away the $15 nightly dinner specials, and you no longer get a random voucher for 50% off your next meal. And to top it off, their prices are going up in Feb. 2023.
Don't think I'll be rejoining when my membership expires. Shame on you Chatswood RSL. You have become less about your members and more about money grabbing.

Slightly tired looking rsl which needs a make over. This includes the main dining room. And chinese resteraunt had no tablecloths. The food at the bistro is below soso. I had lamb fillets which at first I thought were sausages. Not much taste. Staff are good. Friendly and polite.

Very disappointed with my recent visit. Having phoned two days before to make a booking for 20 people at Chit Cgats Bistro, for a family gathering after a funeral, the club had lost the booking. Although we were still accommodated in another area, the menu choices were very limited, with many items already sold out, even though we were dining quite early (6.30 booking). Having settled for Roast of the Day (lamb), the meat was dried out, the vegetables sparse, and the whole meal was lukewarm at best. Not impressed.

Refused us entry as members after having two beers from another establishment - I have never had an issue the security has always been courteous until now the guard seemed like he had a big ego and power complex and decided to not let us in with no reason. I will now only spend my money at the orchard a much superior establishment

The most horrible wagyu steak I ever have. Very dry for medium rare steak and burnt on the outside. Seems they take it out from the freezer and slow grill to thaw then blast to cook. It is not worth to pay $32.-. I cannot eat them and return them to the counter... I did not ask for refund but just to let management know.

Well how quickly things change.
Food costs are as expensive as any RSL I have been to.
The food is OK but be careful not to go to high as it will cost customers.
The service is so typical of clubs who still have far to many middle management and not enough regular work staff, duty managers should observe staff and jump in and assist when needed.
Front door staff should be far more outgoing and friendly.
Also train new staff to serve the correct glass with what drink that is served.
Cafe area needs more hands on works as this area takes far more work than all other areas ie, coffees cakes ect.
Need to change with the times still operating the same way which is not best practice in the hospitality industry.

My mum had the burger and chips which she said was delicious, while I had the sweet potato fries served with sweet chilli sauce and garlic bread. Garlic bread was tasty. Sweet potato chips were cooked well and generous portion sizes (great to share). 'Specials' increased recently from $15 to $20 which is significant.

The staff were very courteous and professional at their job. I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know.

This a local rsl clubThe food here are very cheap fit a memberGet $10 meals and their very nice. Their a bunch of poker machines if you like to play.Also a top level had a Chinese restaurant as well as more poker machines.For me I just came here for a coffee and food

It's the birthday month and I go $20 in the membership card to spend, We order the pork rib, fish n chips and banana prawn linguine.Must give pork rib a big thumb as it is Friday night Special $15 only, very tender, juicy and very delicious.

A very supportive club to our charity. The best surf and Turf with a beer for $15. The security guard there Josh is a champion

I went and had a meal at their bistro; for this COVID-19 period meals were delivered to the tables, our dishes came out well presented and cooked nicely. There are plenty of machines for people with disposable cash who want to pitch their luck against the system, I passed on that as I don't like the odds. Overall I had a pleasant time there.
