I have just the weekend here at a conference from Friday evening till Synday afternoon.
What a lovely experience from all the staff from security through to food service managers.
I felt that, in general, most staff went a little beyond normal service to offer something more that just normal service.
I would definitely recommend this venue for an event.

Wow best food I've had in Sydney since arriving from the UK three weeks ago. I'm originally from Sydney so know Australia food. Friendly greeting when we arrived, lovely helpful staff. The three of us were most impressed with the food. The salt and pepper squid, shoulder of lamb, fish and chips and lobster roll. We are definitely coming back and look forward to trying the yum cha.

Julia, her attitude was awful and her customer service was very poor. We went for a drink, it took us 20 minutes to get over the check in and she was treating us as if she was doing us a favour. I have been treated like illegal drunk immigrant.
But I can't blame her, it is so obvious she hates her job. So leave it, find something you will enjoy more. Don't forget you are always enough, sometimes even too much!!

The largest club in Hurstville. The environment is good, with smoking area and restaurant. The front desk reception and security service attitude are very enthusiastic. It is a good place to relax.?

Service is poor. The guy at the entrance treated everyone like thieves. The drink in slot machine area served slow and unwillingly and unfriendly. Not to mention the slot machine was tough...

Up to my wife entered the club, member card was checked both sides. This was still reasonable. Then when we played at machine areas, service was required, servant attended, but never came back with drinks. By the time we left, with lunch outside club, member card was checked again for parking ticket validation. Name checked, even was challenged that member card was not belonging us, and can't recognise our entering, with rude attitude. Made us feel like thieves stealing from the club. Really bad experience and sad that a friendly club with some rude and inappropriate service skills. There is no need for discussion about details as I'm not going anymore. But I do hope you should train for more professional services.

I am a longtime member spent so much in this club. Been coming here for so long bartender at the bar seems not to know thier products. And act like doesn't know how to do things, last night i came, card host was offline so they could not give us a discount and would not be able to use points to buy anything and while playing, also they don't have pineapple juice at the bar not happy with the service. Its always messy in the smoking area.

We went to Above 8 Rooftop Bar & Lounge but they were closed for functions but staff at the reception didn't know about it because they sent us up so we went to gaming area instead.. looks really nice after the renovations

Bar staff that were on Wednesday 17th May after 8pm are incompetent and need to learn how to make simple cocktails. We ordered 2 simple drinks. A vodka lemonade and a vodka sunrise. The man at the bar made my vodka lemonade with grenadine for some reason. He was also unable to make a Vodka Sunrise. I explained to him 3 times that he needs to add grenadine into the vodka sunrise. He remade the drink twice and each time did not put in the grenadine. I then told him the exact ingredients and order of those ingredients and he still made it wrong. Next time I am there I think I will stick to water thank you.

I ordered my food around 8:10pm and didn't get my food until 8:45.I asked the bar staff to check it and he said the kitchen didn't get the order before but he will make sure that the food will come ASAP. He comes back at 8:55 and ask for my card to do a refund and says I won't get back my food as the kitchen is already close.I asked him to get him a manager as I would like to speak with the manager but no manager shows up and the same bar staff comes back at 9:00 and says I finally will get my burger. I work in the hospitality as well and this can happen sometimes but the thing is no manager showed up to apologise or to come to talk with me regarding this incident.

Attended a venue. Large room with a small dance floor. The overall club looked good. Would like to try the Chinese restaurant next time as so many folks were eating there. Attended the Golden Dragon diamond jubilee which was ??'?

The club is nice but the service is lacking. And the staff at the bistro does not know how to smile or clear a table when some has finished or ask are you done.

This is my first ggl review ever and unfortunately it had to be for such a terrible experience. if u r a member, I do not recommend u bring friends (esp those from overseas) here. When initially confronted, I was still willing to calm myself down and have a good dinner with a family friend. To be fair most of the female staff were willing to at least explain why their rules were so (unnecessarily) strict, but one of the male staff was being really rude, replied our benign questions aggressively (and for what lol) What threw me off was when he say "these are our rules, leave if ur unhappy, in fact ur not welcomed here" and ofc, I left immediately without hesitation. I refuse to be treated without respect. Thankfully I'm only a tourist, because I'm glad I don't have to see him ever again :)

This would be a 0/5 if Google had allowed that. The staffs are very unfriendly and rude to members guests. Even our friends provided member card info, they still refuse to let us sign in, and keep us standing there in the lobby because no seats were provided. This is the last place u want to go!

Really enjoyed the Christmas day lunch at Cucina restaurant. Great service with a happy team. The lunch was amazing. Hope to see you again soon and prebook for next year!!

OK, went to the Bar last night with a group of friends and when we went to pay for our drinks we were informed that needed to pay at end as a single account and then split amongst ourselves. We refused and advised that each person wished to pay for their own drinks and we did not wish to split at end as each couple was responsible for their own drinks. They rudely received payment for my drink purchase and then when I went to but my second round of drinks for myself and my wife they refused me service? They suggested we were aggressive by demanding on the spot payment of drinks rather than paying a single account at end? Evidently their cash register could not handle individual payments? We were also asked to leave the premises after questioning bar staff why each person could not pay on a spend basis. At the end the bar manager allowed us to stay on for another drink and could not explain why we could not pay as we went. She was terrific but unfortunately we encountered idiotic bar staff whom have no idea about customer service let alone any common sense. Terrible and frustrating experience yet laughable. Definitely won't be going there again and mgt needs to put the bar staff in their place and if they are not happy with taking individual orders and payments sack the lot of them! Unfortunately to have review posted needed to give 1 star but in effect should have been NIL or negative.

Great location in the heart of Hurstville. Location is recently renovated and looks great. Staff here are all super friendly and food here is quite good.

Was here for the small business awards. The main room was big and catering was on point.

I visited Club Central for the event celebrating 100 years of St George district cricket club. The event had full attendance and understandably there wasn't enough parking, we went through all 3 levels of basement parking space trying our luck to get a spot but in vain. Finally after 15-20 mins of crawling through basement we have decided to look for street parking and to our surprise we were charged $10 for our time spent looking for parking spot. Its a double whammy as we wasted 15-20 mins and charged for the parking space we never used. We ended up using Westfield's parking and arrived late at the event. The food and arrangement were great but very disheartened by being charged wrongly. Indication at the entrance about no parking availability would have helped greatly!!

Just love this club! Food, atmosphere, friendly staff! All good for me! Hope you enjoy your visit as much as I loved mine!

I only joined today to see if I could bring clients here for lunch, but might just take them to club menai as its way more of a relaxed atmosphere. As you walk in its just wall to wall poker machines and feels more like its a casino than a club that you would take friends and family. Chinese food [yum cha] was ok as I thought I would try it out but $35.00 for 3 plates and tea was not the cheapest option so maybe better in a larger group. If you like Chinese food and love to gamble your money away, this will suit your purpose. I hear they might be building a bistro so that might make things better for the club. PS I did feel a bit of a minority in the club, but on a plus side I pretended I was in Hong Kong for a holiday for a hour without the airfare.

I am an unapologetic foodie and an aficionado of Yum Cha for going on 4 decades. Today my brother and myself decided to try the Yum Cha at the Club Central. From the moment we hit the front door we were met with exceptional, welcoming customer service.
This was backed up by the staff in the Chinese restaurant.

The food was as exceptional as the service. The dumplings were succulent and fresh with a vast array of choice. The Pepper beef was delicious as was the Pork ribs in black bean. All the standards sui mui, fung Gao, har gow were perfect and the scollop and chicken dumpling with fresh roe were delicious.

Ive tried most of the best Yum Cha restaurants in NSW and I rate Club Central as one of the best in terms of food and service.
Prices were reasonable and based upon my experience it's one of the best Yum Cha"s in Sydney. Highly recommend.

A great place to eat with you friends and yum cha is delicious and their food is amazing. I like the sow mai and prawn dumplings.

Tried to go this venue yesterday, but was rudely turned away at the door.Staff said I couldnt enter if no membership and lived within 5 Kms.I was fine because i live in the city. My friend is visiting and had an overseas ID. The rude aggressive doorman blatantly refused us entry. He also snatched my license out of my hand and when i second guessed for refusing foreigners he said dont shout or Ill call security!, and Stand over there! We were treated like criminals.Who needs to be treated by such rude attendants just for going out? Another friend was already in the restaurant with membership and a booking. There was no way we could join them.This aggressive Chinese doorman was on a real power trip.There are so many nice other clubs and Chinese Restaurants why would you want to go there and to treated so appallingly.Clients should rethink their choice of venue. Staff need a serious customer service overhaul.Dont Go!

Returned here twice since the recent reopening; whilst the new measures in place (by the club,) seem to minimise the spread of covid, sadly the club atmosphere has become rather unpleasant and cold to say the least!
That's all I can comment on.
Unfortunately, not a lot of positive feedback to offer here!
