Club Macquarie

Congratulations! You have won the award for the worst "Baked Dinner" I have encountered. The beef was overcooked and tough, this was served on top of sloppy *mashed* potato,(not baked) with a generous serving of soggy vegetables. This was not a cheap meal and others in our group all commented how disgusting the meal looked and tasted.

Had my 70th birthday here yesterday. Amazing staff very helpful the table was set beautifully and everyone had a great time. Special thanks to Kay who took the booking from me and Fiona who made sure the event ran beautifully as well as the lady on the bar who did a great job. Dean your kitchen staff and your meals are amazing. Thank you all so much a very memorable happy day

Food is always amazing. We go here for the bistro before having a night out almost weekly. Love how the special board in always new. I've never had a bad meal here

Came here for a weekend. Pretty much cannot fault much. I'll start with the accommodation. It's not 5 star but the rooms were clean and looked great. I found the bed a bit soft for my liking. The TV had full Foxtel option, and the showers and rootlets toilets were nice and clean and well maintained. Now the club. Typical club choices for beer. Would have liked to have seen more options. The staff were all great, and hard working people. Credit to them all. The food was ok. For lunch I had the southern fired chicken burger. The chicken was over cooked in the fryer which gives it an off taste. But, otherwise it was a good burger. The included chips were great. Over all it was a good sized meal. Shame the cook can't watch the fryer. The Tapas we had at dinner was all very nice. The sauces included with the different foods were tasty and the tapes dishes well presented. The club had plenty of the usual club facilities. The toilets were well cleaned and looked after ( I literally went to three different toilets ) The live bands was good entertainment as well after 8. Over all not a bad place to spend a weekend.

The room was beautiful that we stayed in. Unfortunately our meals at the club was a big disappointment. Our steaks were like chewing on an old leather boot and for the price very small piece of steak and our toppers looked watered down. Couldn't fault the staff. Very friendly.

Went to the bistro for dinner on a Tuesday, the staff were friendly and talkative. The food is delicious and are large portions for the price. I had the house made quiche with salad and it was brilliant. The desserts were cute and tasted perfect. I would recommend stopping by as a small group for a relaxed, tasty dinner.

Eat elsewhere. Very ordinary food at premium prices. I doubt a qualified chef is doing the cooking. Restaurant manager has zero customer service skills and won't listen to feedback. There is no dessert menu, they closed the ice cream bar at 8pm while there were people still eating their meals. The food is poor value compared to other clubs and restaurants. The twice cooked pork looked like it had been thrown in a deep fryer, soggy chewy 'crackle' and overcooked meat. The 'tapas' menu isn't proper Spanish style tapas, just spring rolls, dumplings and camembert, all wildly overpriced for what it is. Just don't eat here.

Had booked a table for 10 for lunch on Saturday. They lost my booking. Thankfully a table of 15 cancelled so we got that. Ordered the Macquarie pizza which was supposed to have ham pepperoni and chorizo on it. Found one slice of pepperoni cut in pieces. Very sad. Rocky road ice cream was amazing.
