I ordered a couple of takeaway meals from the servery. While the meals in the past weren't particularly good, they were eatable, just, however the last time I ordered a Takeaway from The Cessnock Bowling Club the meal was dreadful. I ordered honey chicken combination omlet and fried rice. My husband wouldn't have any to eat, and I only had a little.
I don't like to give a bad review, which is why I wasn't going to leave a review at all, we don't frequent the club, only order a couple of meals occasionally, however I am sorry to say I won't be returning. Thank you to the catering staff for being so lovely.

The food is hit or miss. The Singapore noodles (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) are excellent, but other meals have been disappointing. One meal I couldn't even eat - a waste of over $20 (⭐️).

The restaurant staff could benefit from additional training in customer service, including politeness and friendliness. A smile and good manners cost nothing. They often seem bothered when taking my order, possibly due to being overworked, which comes across as gruff.

I am well travelled and actually like this venue. It wouldn't take much to give it a better vibe.

Despite the lack of people, the bands have always been great, and it's nice to see people dancing.

Have been there several times for various reasons from playing weekday bingo, Drag Bingo and catch up lunches with friends, this club is welcoming and has both a reasonably priced bistro and snack bar.

the bowlo seemed great , kitchen staff were lovely...
shame about the out of sorts woman presenting to be mutten dressed as lamb... not sure if she missed that day at boxing but after the arm gesture's i assume she had to get some air or run it off..
all in all seemed nice want to get in and have a game of bowels next time..

We came here to check out the space for a meal but came on a Monday so missed out on dinner but that is ok.

We had a drink and the staff were very friendly.

The venue is massive with plenty of spaces including indoor bowling greens, auditorium, gaming room, sports watching space, sports bar and general bar.

We cannot wait to come back to see the space full of people enjoying themselves either having a game of bowls or dining.

Exactly what you expect from a Chinese in a club. Tasty food, filling but not exactly Michelin star.
Shrinkflation has certainly been noticed at Sahara Mei Bistro. All portions have reduced but prices haven't and the price for a small rice needs reevaluating.
Staff are always friendly, food is hot and the drinks are cheap.
Since it's been renovated, It's a great place for locals and tourist alike to drop into.

Well, I have eaten here 4 times now in the last 6 months and honestly the Chinese food is an insult, I suggest they contact Kee Ho for some hints, on 2 of those occasions I tried non Chinese items both were bland and dissapointing, I returned for the 5th time last night by the request of my wife who insisted we take some friends there, none of us emptied our plates, and the fried rice was dry and tasted charred somehow.
Poor quality even for a club, I have given them more than ample opportunities to keep me as a diner but no more.

Had a great meal here with my wife recently. I had the beef burger (good old aussie burger) and my wife beef with blackbean and we thoroughly enjoyed both, spring rolls and dim sims were also pretty yummy. our only setback was that we needed to buy rice with the meal and although is not that uncommon paying $6.50 for a small rice seemed steep, if not for that it would have been 5 stars. P.S. beers were cold and cheap.

Ruined my cousins 21st birthday. 30 people and a booked function room and you closed the kitchen at 8pm so no one could order food despite telling you that they WILL be ordering dinner. We will be filing a formal complaint. Absolutely disgusting I hope you're happy with yourselves.

Not from the area but attended an 18th birthday and had a great time. It was clean and the staff were great. The food was great and wasn't expensive, very well priced actually.

Beers are cheap And enjoyed the bowls. But the food is really average especially for the price. Not one person out of 12 of us had anything nice to say about it.

Th� club in general was great, well air conditioned, good layout and nice staff. However the restaurant respectfully, was terrible. The food was bland and lacked flavour. Would come again, but definitely not eating more food.

What a top place this is. Foods so tasty. Staffs very friendly and helpful.Has a TAB there also for the punters. Children are welcome. Just keep in mind about the over 18 around Bar area. For the bowlers there is under cover bowls. Very nice bowls club indeed.

Great venue. Great staff. Great food they so offer live bands. For us adults to sit down & relax to. And raffles. When we come here to the club we always feel highly welcomed. 10/10 would recommend coming here.

Unfortunately we have a child that has allergies we had bought him a Macca's $7 meal while at least 6 adults would have eaten and drank but unfortunately he was not aloud to bring the meal in. I think some places need to reconsider kids with allergies and letting them bring a small meal into the premises. We left and won't be back.

Very clean and spacious.

I have always enjoyed the food at ECBC, HOWEVER, we bought a takeaway meal on a Saturday afternoon just as the bistro opened for dinner and the meal was terrible. I'm sure it was leftovers from the lunch menu and as a result we wasted $85. I'm not sure if I'll buy takeaway from there again but would be happy to have an eat-in meal to test the quality.

Not a bowling club person but had a great night. Nice Chinese meal, nice lounge to watch the football, Elvis impersonator singing...and doing a great job, and won a meat tray in the raffle. What more could a girl want

A night out to watch some live music. The club had organised a dome outside on the green for the night of dancing and music. I would have provided some stand alone heaters as options for people as it can get quite cold in that area. The restaurant within the club had an asian menu with a couple of Aussie food choices as well. Given how busy the club was this night because of the event the food was quick and delicious. Overall it was a great venue for the event and thoroughly enjoyed seeing The Viper Creek Band and All Access 80's

Brilliant set up for bowls, helpful staff, nice meals available, easily accessible.

Food was great. Staff very nice. Poker machines are just thieving of the poor in the community. Should get rid of them. Can't talk about doing good things for the people of Cessnock and still having these abominations .Great bowls set up. Excellent venue. Burn the pokies.

Worst club ever. Bad customer service by the woman on the reception from the minute we walked in. First she abruptly said "Hat off!" to my hubby (how rude)... we'd just spent the day travelling and had no idea of the dress code and would have been happy to comply without being barked at. Then she barked "photo I.D only!" as if we weren't going to show her any. We almost walked out then but were hungry and thirsty so decided to go in. Apparently the Bistro shuts at 8 pm on a Saturday night - we got there about 8:05pm. As we walked over to the bistro, we were intercepted by the rude woman on the front desk again who took great delight in telling us the bistro was no longer serving whist she was tucking in to a large plateful. We sat there a bit bemused and then signed out about 5 minutes later looking for somewhere else to get some food and drinks.Avoid this place at all costs! Not worth your time or money.

The interior is just ok and really need a proper renovation. Staff on the floor were nice and friendly.
Not many options in the area so the locals are enjoying themselves even with the ordinary meals.
Lots of parking spots available.
