I went there for dinner. I had friends fly in from China yesterday. I took them all day to wollongong an kiama . We got back late. We went for dinner only but wouldn't let us in. Partner didn't have licience on her. And 3 friends no id only passport back at ashfield. I am a veteran. Could of let uscin for dinner but turned away. Disgusted as I am a veteran an told them. Of case of they only flew in. What good is rsl if don't do nothing for a veteran . Not happy at all.

It's great here and awesome that it's returned! Yum Cha is back at Granville Diggers...YAY! Can find some really old school yum cha dishes not found elsewhere like Duck Feet Wraps, Chic Feet in Herbal Soup, even Steamed Turnip Cake! All delicious! Needless to say, we've returned a few times! Best Fried Squid Tenticles ever!

We went for dinner at the Chinese Restaurant.  They recommend crab with vermicelli in pot (@$68 kg). Dish arrived, there was only one crab claw. By asking, they said it was a single claw crab. They did not mention at all and never show us the crab and claim it was 700g (small and only with one claw!!). Ridiculously too, the crab was served in a plate as all pots are cracked (when we asked why). When paying the crab was charged $78 per kg. Lucky we checked the bill. food was disappointed and most importantly not honest.

Went to get yumcha here for their 20% discount on weekdays. Disgusting place and extremely dirty.
Don't know if the food's even clean.
They need the 20% off to survive.

Garbage service where they only speak Cantonese. Avoid at all cost. Go to Cabra or anywhere else for yumcha.

People also swarm the food trolleys like mosquitoes rather than wait for the trolley to come around.

I recently had lunch at Granville Diggers, and I must say I was quite impressed. The new menu they've introduced is not only delicious but also very reasonably priced. The staff members were polite and attentive, which made the dining experience even better. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Ideal place to hanging out with friends specially their videoke night, plenty of parking too.

The bar staff were not really happy to sure drinks, the bar was always empty and the buzzer that they are meant to carry was always left at the bar, so you have to wait until they are finished what they are doing and see you to be able to be served. The manager was pleasant and helpful, often filling in for the bar lady and serving a drink when needed. Sandeep seems to want to go home early, pulling all the chairs away from the machines 1 hour before closing time, this is a rude gesture to clear the club early.
The PA system is very loud in the outdoor section, the person who dose the announcement puts the microphone in his months and then tries to talk, loud distorted announcement. The final announcement that should of been announced were not. The call for last drinks or alerting the pattens to the club shutting would of been a nice, thats what clubs normally do, so the patrons know to start ending their night and leave. Not this place, they expect you to know what time they close. When I asked why no announcement was made, I was rudely told "bars close".. So agin I stated its normal bar policy to call "last drinks" 30 min before you close the bar, again I was aggressively told "BARS CLOSED" the way he said it was as if I was annoying him. He was aggressive, dismissive, rude and disrespectful the way he spoke to me. I took a photo of the aggressive door man, I waved good bye wile taking a photo. I was once again aggressively spoken to, this time he started screaming at me, walking towards me screaming, as I made my way for the door "Whats the video for", Well now he will know what the image is for, its for this review.. I literally had to run for the car with him screaming at me, it felt like he wanted to attack me, and if I had stayed, I think he would of wanted to challenge me in some way of form because I took a photo.. Anyway I made it out alive, won $500 on the pokies overall, Their was a few of us playing $10 a hit late at night. When people are playing your money making machines, why would you be rude to them? aggressive to them ? Management take note, you just lost two local high rollers.. Anyway I went to the leagues, they were happy to see me, friendly, open, accommodating, and the first machine I played I won over a grand. So the night worked out well after leaving this place.

We found out they ceased yum cha at Poppies from last week. We had some leftover dumplings but it wasn't the same as before. Service was friendly and helpful. Sadly the yum cha service which put some life back to this place is no longer. The chef moved to the Eight in Chinatown.

Good food. Good service. Super value meal. We have a set menu dinner for 8 adults. Around $45 per head.

Love the Hainanese chicken and the roast duck. One of the best places for these 2 dishes.

Great food and friendly staff. Service can be a bit slow during peak time.

A kind of old-fashioned, not very clean and slow RSL club. The food service was awful and quality was lower than normal RSL clubs.

So glad to see yum cha is back at Granville Diggers as there was no Asian flavours in the suburb for a long time. Very yummy prawn dumplings and extremely affordable.

Granville Diggers is a great small club. Fantastic food and a really nice atmosphere.

An off shoot of the Granville RSL. Bristro food is pricy, between 18 to 22 dollars for steaks, pizzas and pasta dishes. Cafe is so so, coffee is okay, cake slices are 7 to 8 dollars and are large portions. Function areas are a decent given the size of the building: with one medium size hall, 2 medium sized lounge/dining areas and 2 to 3 smaller spaces. Started putting up more events in March 2021 with Karaoke and trivia nights. Overall staff are pleasant and courteous.

New restaurant Poppies Brasserie is amazing with fantastic weekly specials and great customer service. Highly recommended for lunch, dinner, family gatherings or special events.

Not a bad little club, the new fitout is good. Only problem is the rude arab security guy. You NEED to get rid of him or else you will lose paying members like myself. Won't be back until he's gone.
