In order to get the most accurate and most informative review for my readers, I'm one of the only Google reviewers that judge's my reviews on the following 6 points.
1. Service; I found the administration staff at the front of the office to be non-existant - there was no-one at the front desk, when i entered the Greyhound Social Club. This could present an element of risk and shows poor standing.
2. Coffee and drinks; The person at the Bar looks like he has been there a long time, and services the regulars in a familiar sort of way, however, I found his style of service to be un-friendly and slightly indifferent to serving any new people ( I had never been into this establishment). When I ordered a drink the next time (there was a young, friendly lady at the bar, who advised me of the membership, of which I paid for, to get cheaper food and drinks in the future). Drinks are rsl prices.
3. Food; The cheesey bacon fries are good, and so are the wait-staff that bring the food out. If there was more attention to front of house, friendlier, bar staff and a little bit more effort put in overall, I would order and eat this again. However.... I noted that there was a strong smell of oil when i put my order in, this could be off-putting for anyone else. The gentleman that served the food was very friendly and cordial, and fast to take the dishes - this style of service needs to be re-interpreted along all facets of this establishment.
4. Vibe; This is an older crowd of blue collar, working Aussies and pensioners. looks like a place to come after work, or during work and a real Tradies haunt by the looks of the people that were there on the evening I visited. The vibe is "place to go for a beer and chit-chat, and get away from the Misses. or in some cases the Mr.
5. Cleanliness; Did not use the facilities, but the tables were clean, and the place looked moderately clean - ok.
6. Point of difference; The fact that two months later, I still have not received my membership card shows that, The point of difference, is the in-difference in the front of house, bar staff (older gentleman) and this old-school style of running a Greyhound Club. I will not be going back, and will be asking for a refund for my membership that was paid on the day.
