We went to Teddy Larkins at the Harbord Diggers.
Thoughts before tasting the food: There are lots of dietary options very nice lighting and decor. The seats were very comfortable and the whole vide of the place was comfy and fancy. They had a lot different food and drink options. The staff were very nice and helpful. There were tvs to watch the live sport. I recommend booking online beforehand as it gets quite busy, the food took 20 minutes to arrive and it was very busy so we were very pleased with that.

What we ordered: We got the braised beef cheek, pork ribs with coleslaw and fried chicken, salt and pepper squid, broccoli 3 ways, and fries. For drinks we just got a bush bash mocktail.

Thoughts after eating the food: The beef was an entree size but it was still very big, it was really moist and all the flavour jus, parsnip purée, pickled onions and beef went really well together. The bush bash was extremely delicious, sweet and tangy. The fries were very good as they were skinny crunchy and hot. The salt and pepper squid was crunchy on the outside and then soft and a bit chewy on the inside which I liked, it was also VERY filling I could not eat more than 10 pieces. The broccoli 3 ways was good, it was cooked well to make it a bit crunchy and the variety was nice. The pork ribs were tender and the sauce on the ribs were really tasty, the chicken that came with the pork had a really nice outer and no bones. The coleslaw had nothing special about it and was nice with all the other food. Altogether the overall experience, feel and food was great and I give it a 4 / 5.

Harbord Diggers is located at 88 Evans Street, Freshwater, New South Wales, Australia ??. This is absolutely one of, if not my favourite club. The range of restaurants you can choose to eat and drink from is fantastic including Bau Troung, Teddy Larkins Seafood and Steakhouse, DD Collective and The Main Bar. I love that you can have such a variety. The atmosphere and layout of the club is really welcoming and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I have never had a bad meal. The club is literally across the road from a beautiful walkway along the cliffs overlooking the sea at Freshwater and South Curl Curl Beach. It's a beautiful walk whether you go left or right. Also helps if you're a member of the club, so that you can get discounts. The Ocean Terrace outside is dog ? friendly which is wonderful, always best to get in early though because the tables can be taken very quickly. There's about three restaurants/cafes to choose from when it comes to having something to eat eg Bau Tuong which is the Vietnamese restaurant which is my favourite. I love the prawn rice paper rolls, they are delicious ?. I usually come with my group which is quite large and we never have any problems finding seats. Harbord Diggers is one of my favourite clubs to come to, always a pleasure. ????

Guys, you need to do better. Sunday 14th Jan 2024, 1pm.
Ordered vege burger, fries, fish tacos and Margherita pizza.
Vege burger mimicked the likes of McDonalds, chips were undercooked and unsalted. Pizza sauce tasted of tin tomato only, no herbs, no seasoning. The cheese was like plastic. Fish tacos were ok, but not amazing.

Venue and location is stunning. But the food was a massive let down.

Today we dined in the restaurant. It was great. Good food good service and good prices. It was a special occasion for our family. The staff are down to earth and we felt comfortable in the recently renovated RSL Club. State of the art. Good parking. The rest of the venue was lovely also. Wide open spaces , indoor and out door with more casual eating but still yummy as I've been there before.
In particular I loved the peaceful remembrance infinity fountain. Very quiet and still. Very peaceful. Well done. !!!

The venue and location are excellent but the food is below average.
Had a half rack of ribs. For $44 I would have expected amazing fall of the bone ribs, but instead I got ribs with little to no flavour that relied on the bbq sauce for flavour. As well as what I suspect is the membrane left on the back. Really disappointed.

A popular and busy establishment which is a great place to chill out over a nice meal or drinks with family and friends. The place is very family friendly with spaces to accommodate children (indoor playcentre included). Although there is always a large number of people, it never feels overcrowded due to the space allocated.

A good variety of bar areas and food service areas provides a great variety of choices.

I really enjoy the large outdoor area, which is perfect for enjoying the beautiful ocean view and provides a great space for those with children and/or dogs.

Accessibility for those with Prams or mobility devices is easy.

Plenty of off-street underground parking is available.

Horrific experience!

After being charged $36 for my two children to use the "Major Fun" play area, I was told I have to supervise my eleven year old at all times. With them already wearing their wristbands, I couldn't exactly walk away at that point. What exactly is the point of so many staff if I can't leave an eleven year old alone while I sit outside in the sun?

At least it gave me that chance to write this review. By the way, none of the parents are actually "supervising" their kids; they are sitting around on their phones.

After 15 minutes, my son was bored and asking to leave... $36 well spent! ?

I also went to the bar with my daughter to get her a drink and was rudely told that children have to be 2 metres away from the bar. So, despite going to the bar to buy a drink for my daughter, I actually had to leave her UNATTENDED while I bought her a drink!!! Who makes these silly rules?

I will never return! Avoid.

This is definitely the perfect spot for young families or large groups but not great to bring
a date as there are so so many children! Food was pretty average especially the fish tacos. Not much flavour or spice however the staff were friendly and attentive

Surprised! I generally dislike clubs. Melbourne bias? This was an eye-opener. Stylish. Good food options. Range of price points too. Gaming 'facilities' not in-your-face. Staff were polite and efficient. If we lived in Sydney, we'd join in a flash!

A happy, relaxed place to chill out over a nice meal with family and friends. The sheer number of people is indicative of its popularity. The large outdoor area is lovely on a nice day and perfect for those with children and/or dogs as plenty of space for them while there are several different sections inside specialising in different cuisines.

Just by the number of people this place is popular, but sitting down in any of the restaurants at the Digger's all you can hear is the hum of happy people. Seafood or Pizza, or just a steak cooks to perfection, I have never been disappointed with my meal. But if you have a visitor from overseas, this is a beautiful place to take them, as the views of the ocean an looking right up the coastline are simply amazing.
Just do give it a try.

A very modern RSL club with a nice cafe + restaurant. Seating here is very cozy and spacious. Nice sea breeze surrounding the area. Food here is great! Really dig their fried squid! Exquisite! Also highly recommend their beef nachos! It's yuge! Great coffee too!

It's a lovely ocean view while sitting outside with a brolly for some shade, having a variety of pizza, pasta, mains & cocktails, or whatever makes you feel like you're on a holiday. Prices are so good too. Would love to go again. By the way, the pizzas are really nice & a bit of 'I got my eyes on you, you're everything that I need,' entertainment. Very nicely set out. Very much enjoyed for my birthday. ??

I had the best Friday lunch meeting last week, my event organiser, and closest friend Brooke and I needed to discuss all things for a pending huge event I am organising so we headed off to the Diggers ??'????'??

I love the Harbord Diggers and I need to make this very clear, it's a kind of local, I am a member and I want to retire into the units above. It has the most beautiful courtyard you can sit, eat, and drink the arvo away.?

The food was ok but really bland and this was disappointing - it was almost flavourless, and neither of us have had Covid and destroyed our tastebuds. We got the food (I think) from the Diggers and from Teddy Larkins (they have multiple food outlets) - we ordered from our phones, but please introduce the chef to salt and pepper and it would make a world of difference. I want to come back and have a mind-blowing meal - I mentioned it to some friends and a couple agreed at having the same issue. ???

We went on Public Holiday Monday. Therefore the menu was limited, but still a delicious assortment.
We had the Mezze Platter for 2 and Sweet Potato Wedges.
It was delicious and more than enough for 2.

The gelato is amazing- definitely recommend. Normally you can take dogs outside on the picnic benches which is really nice too.

Love coming here anytime of the week - weekdays after work for a wine and some dinner or on the weekends with the girlfriends. Great that you can order from any restaurant and drinks from the main bar to sit anywhere you like. Membership benefits are great too.
Bau Truong has to be my favourite, yummy Vietnamese food & the staff who work there are fantastic. I hosted my company's Christmas dinner there once and they were exceptional with their service. Everyone enjoyed the food too of course!

I just wanted to take the opportunity to compliment Mac (or Matt I think because the name tag was wrong) on his amazing service. He was one of the nicest and most accommodating staff members I have encountered at a hospitality venue and everyone was incredibly impressed. He was so lovely and helpful and made the night run so smoothyl! I would appreciate if someone ensures this gets to his manager as I want them to be aware of how great a worker he is! Thank you :)

Go for a coastal walk or beach walk afterwards. Only $12 to join (5 year membership). Parking downstairs or sometimes street parking. My friends enjoy it because there is dog friendly seating.

Very nice atmosphere here. So much has changed since last time we were there more than 5 years ago. All new building, styles, car park and outdoor seating areas. Foods are great and many choices to pick from. We found staffs aren't that friendly, only try to do their jobs and no smile on their faces at all. We found a guy at the front that very helpful and friendly. Will be back

Amazing place to dine with a magnificent outlook. Great food and friendly staff. No free kids playground and $15 for a paid one is a bit much other than that great family venue.

We went there for a family function and it all worked well. Had a sectioned off area. Grog was good and affordable. Food was well done, affordable, fresh and plentiful.

What an excellent spot this is, in a beautiful setting and with a very diverse menu. I brought my team here for lunch on Friday during a Community Day whereby we were cleaning rubbish from the local beaches, and were treated to some excellent hospitality. There was 20 of us in the group, and every single person received their food timely, and were delighted with the quality and quantity. We shall definitely be back

The idea is similar to RSL club, but it looks like a very nice restaurant with a place for kids, bar, live music and gambling options( for those who are interested).The food is good. We got a big breakfast - very nice.They are dog-friendly in the outdoor sitting area.Plenty of parking available even on the weekend (or maybe we got lucky).

Great location and the food at the Vietnamese restaurant is really good. However they really need to sort out the service at the main bar. It's a giant circular bar that regularly only has 2 people serving with massive queues making getting a drink a real pain. I feel they can surely add more registers, make the cocktail prep area smaller or something!
