Can't believe how good the meal was!
Food was on the table 12 mins after ordering, was fresh, very tasty, and plentiful. Staff were great too.
What a shame we only come thru once a year.

Stopped here on our way through Hay at 7pm at night not much open but found the Bowling Club which was clean and easy to park and it was packed the Chinese restaurant was lovely. One cook and one waitress and seriously packed with a couple of birthday parties, travellers and locals. Has great bar - clean tidy restaurants rooms - we did have to wait for an hour but it didn't matter as we could watch the Olympics have a cool drink and the food was delicious. A definite place to have a meal.

this plave is great until raffle day comes. the raffle is imposible to win but the food is above average. biggest schnitty i've ever seen. the fried ice cream is a must try if your here and the vibes are great.

Waited an hour and 40 minutes for the food. $31 steak was dry with lots of gristle. $25 Schnitty was too salty to eat. Satay chicken had watery flavourless sauce. All up, just really average food. The young wait staff were doing their best to placate numerous angry customers who had waited longer than us. Won't be coming back.

The best Chinese I have ever eaten.. highly recommend if visiting Hay!! Cheap drinks also.

Stayed overnight in Hay after a long drive & went to the Bowling Club for dinner 2 weeks ago. The Chinese restaurant there was reasonably priced and delicious (I had the Mongolian lamb, my partner the satay combination both were great). The bar staff were really friendly & welcoming and managing all patrons beautifully - all in a blackout which affected the whole town. Thank you for your hospitality!

Food was amazing, forgiven for not having Rose by the glass because food was so good ?

Not sure what the food experience would be as we waited over 1hr for our meal to come to our table . Never arrived got our money back
Perhaps Parton should be informed how long meals are taking.

An amazing Chinese meal selection! Always cooked fresh always lovely staff - however the "lemon" chicken we had takeaway last night didn't taste much like lemon at all :-( rice was amazing though.
Not a very busy pub at all, not like it used to be years ago when they had music and raffles etc
This place used to gather the community but not anymore. Sadly a great hotel gathering dust!

We are from out of town and we had a feed of Chinese banquet here tonight and the food was excellent. We didn't wait longer than about 15 minutes for the meals to arrive and we ended up getting some take out containers as we couldn't eat it all.
Would definitely recommend as a place with nice food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

Very helpful and kind staff at the club went the extra mile to find a special winter coat that I had left at the club. They also generously offered to send the sentimental old coat to my home town.
The dinner two nights ago was steaming hot and delicious.

The waitress did not allow us to sit away from toilet even all tables were empty. We asked to sit at different table because the smell from toilet was so bad. When we asked for different table, she said that many people might come, but no one came and all the tables were empty until we left. She was so careless and I felt like she was angry with us. The meal was delicious and chef was so polite.

Recently had a very pleasant meal at the Chinese Restaurant when passing through from Adelaide to the South Coast of NSW.
It wasn't until the next day that I realised I had left my cardigan behind and by that time we were several hours away.
I rang the club and the very friendly staff went above and beyond and made sure my cardigan (an old favourite) was posted back to my home.

Not much competition in Hay come a slightly late dinner time. Standard Chinese menu, seems to be just one Chef, one wait staff but while you wait there's ice cold beer on tap. Situated at the north end of town the food is above average club Chinese at average Chinese prices. The best thing is that in Hay terms they serve late, thankfully! So much better than a dehydrated pie from a 24 hour servo.

Service was fantastic staff very friendly food was wonderful the atmosphere in the place was so bubbly and happy loved it will certainly be going back.

The best Chinese in hay. Great service and menu, good selection of Chinese and Aussie meals. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait when busy. If you have little kids there is a play area so if there is a wait they can be entertained. Takeaway is always a good option. But we are local and have been eating here for years. Same family run bistro for at least the last 20 years. Prices are reasonable and food quality is high.

Very quick service from the kitchen. Always on time or early. Friendly and polite.

Well Hay is not a place where there is a thriving restaurant scene. Our motel pointed left for a pubeal or right for Chinese. Luckily the Asians are prepared to work hard and provide service which is the story of rural Australia. The food here was good as was the service. Prices are high but I think post Covid this is expected and at least we could eat.

Our experience wasn't great but it was also an extremely busy night Felt sorry for the kitchen staff. We had Singapore noodles, Hay Chef special and chicken schnitzel all were too salty

Really lovely meal at Danny's Bistro, tasty chicken curry & a steak dish with honey pepper, lovely vibe from the local community creating a welcoming atmosphere.....would recommend

Fantastic Chinese Bistro. Newly renovated Club with outdoor deck, gaming room, kids playground etc. Good range of drinks at the Bar. Friendly staff. Easy parking.

Dinner at the Chinese restaurant was pretty good. No one in the bar as it was a quiet night. There were plenty of great prizes for their raffles if you go on a night they are running those. Clean pub.

Less than acceptable food, followed by unwanted consequences the following day. Would not eat here again. General ambience poor, run down. Better food and surroundings available at the RSL.

Good place to eat, friendly atmosphere and staff. Open when other places in Hay aren't.

A nice little country bowling club with a chinese bistro. The mixed omelette was good but the special fried rice was very ordinary with little or no taste to it. Therefore I can't recommend the bistro at all.

Pretty good but the restaurant fills the meals with heaps of msg .. remember to say no msg if that's your wish..otherwise u'll have a head ack for the rest of the day
