As a former member and now a interstate visitor don't believe the management's false advertising claim about friendly bar staff at this establishment
The Clayton's manager is only available from 10:00 hrs to 14:30 hrs if you phone outside these hrs he is not on site or unavailable to speak with a mere mortal or hangs up on you It's no wonder the members have named him the phantom
On Friday I played bowls at this establishment for 3 hours using members card to buy each others drinks which was acceptable the bartender even used a card from the till if bowler's or member's forgot their cards
So you can imagine my reaction and surprise when I was refused by the bartender to purchase the drink at the same price that I had paid previously
This practice of using members cards is very
common in most clubs that I have been involved with
But I believe I was being victimised' harassed and singled out by this staff member
I suggest if you want a pleasant experience find somewhere else to eat and drink I have noticed other locals have recently reviewed with the same experience

Bar staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming, young boy waiter was rude and pushy. Older woman working in the bar gave us a very rude look and shook her head at my baby who made a loud noise as he was hungry. Would not return, would not recommend.

I was looking for restroom in the bar nearby while charging my Tesla vehicle. I respect the decision made to this place so I was asking where the menu is and reading the menu on the wall, and my partner was looking around but not looking for restroom as she has same common sense as mine that we need to buy something to use bathroom.

There was a rude lady standing at the bar while filling someone else's drink was saying "You have to buy some food or anything to use the toilet. " in a uncomfortable manner. This is very rude as I have not seen anyone being like this for years no matter gender or age.

I can take a photo and attach here but I believe I am more civilised human. I won't spread anger and said anything made this a worse statement. But this was truly made me and my partner uncomfortable while you reading the menu or look around then someone assumed you don't understand English somehow while looking around by saying you have to buy something to use the bathroom.

Food is good by the way.

The lady was working at 13:33 on 2nd May. FYI.

Ordered a pizza from here. OMG it is absolutely delicious. I forgot to ask the gentleman name who made it. He is the bomb.

My steak was perfect and the prawn cutlets were fine. Thank you!
