My wife & I had lunch at the Bowls club. Service was fantastic & food excellent, large servings we were presently surprised at this out of the way place with such an excellent lunch.

The club has a great feel to it especially on Friday and Saturday nights for the raffles.The bar staff are friendly and attentive, bus a bonus as the weather was foul....but....I have to agree with some of the other reviews in regard current chinese food, it lacked in flavour and the rush to have a meal done by 8.30 on the weekends....cmon.

Asked for a steak to be done well done 3 times and still came out pink and could not refund steak and ended up with a bowl of chips. Manager on the front door was really rude. Shayla was amazing and sorted it out. Manager should have sorted out but Shayla gave us free fried rice. Should not be left to a junior staff member to sort out.

While the main meal was good, our experience took a nosedive when we tried to order dessert. We were told that the restaurant was too busy to serve desserts. This was incredibly disappointing, especially since we had been looking forward to it as part of our meal.

To make matters worse, when we asked for a feedback form to share our concerns, we were again told that they were too busy to provide one.

It's really frustrating that what should have been a memorable family night ended on such a sour note. We expected better service and attention to detail, and unfortunately, this restaurant fell short.

Food was good but the waitress was rude and ignorant wouldn't go check if the soy sauce was gluten free, when we went to order from the Australian food menu she brought the sign that said "no Australian foods or desserts" from under the counter

Great service. Busy this time of year, but we were still able to get a spot for dinner. Huge outdoor area for the kids to play. Courtesy bus was a blessing with all the rain!

The good things, free bus and wait staff courteous and attentive. All down hill after that. Food poorly prepared and tasteless. Salt and Pepper calamari under cooked with the coating having a glugy texture. The whole performance worthy of Heston. B. Then there's the woman wandering around with Fxxx emblazoned on her t-shirt. If management think it's OK, perhaps they are in the wrong job.

Busy night , no excuse for poor food . Ordered combination chow mein , recieved uncooked veg , 3 prawns and beef strips, hardly a combination. No sweets on offer told they were too busy. This was our 5th visit and our last. Very disappointed usually good but not today 28/12/23.

Best Chinese, give the San chow bow & prawn toast a go. Taste buds were doing a dance. Thankyou to the staff, felt very welcome. Just a great place.

Cranky barman when I asked for a cocktail for my wife's celebration. He may have been busy and short staffed but his response was unnecessary. The bar supervisor explained the situation to me in a very professional manner. Luv this club but this did put a dampener on our evening.

I live a few hundred metres away I don't bowl but go there to grab take away Chinese but due to the rules I need to become a member and pay 12 odd dollars to become a member to pick up take away so none of my family will bother going there until we don't have to be members.

Visited for a bowls day. Everyone was friendly and we (Nutters Social Lawn Bowls club) had a fabulous time.
The Chinese lunch was so good.
We'll have to wait for another visit.
Loved the day.

I have been informed that there are different staff manning the kitchen since my last visit almost a year ago. That said, we had a good experience.

Walking in on a weekday evening, we were easily accommodated with two children in our party. Entrees were served with breakneck speed. The wonton soup was fantastic! Plenty of dumplings, served in a gelatinous broth. Favourite part of our experience.

My main was Cantonese king prawns. I was a little disappointed with the calibre of the prawns given the quality and freshness of the local product. The sauce was also rather sweet and lacking complexity.

Service was polite and speedy, prices reasonable.

Great atmosphere and Stella Artois on tap! We had a great Sunday afternoon. Have some fish at Fish Cooperative before you go.

Friendly club with good quality tap beer snd reasonable pricing fir mixed drinks and wines. Nice relaxed ambience. We were visitors. if I was a local - this would be my preferred place for a drink and to enjoy quality down time.

It was so nice to find a tidy clean club with a great Chinese restaurant/bistro. Food was excellent and servings good size and value. Good family atmosphere and will definitely be back. Thank you.

Went there with a big birthday group ...for pub food....it was great .... with an oriental twist... I had Mongolian chicken and my wife Mongolian pork on sizzling platters... there was plenty of choice on the menu with banquets, lamb cutlets and all the bits.... reasonably priced too. Worth a visit for a nice meal if your staying in sleepy Iluka

We had a Chinese dinner at the club last night. Entree of Spring rolls and Prawn toast were very nice. However we each had different steak dishes for a main and both were terrible. No flavour to the dish whatsoever and the steak was very tough. For some reason even squeaked on our teeth when we chewed on it. It would have to be the worst Chinese main meal we both have ever eaten. So disappointed. On a brighter note the waitress staff were fantastic, very attentive and friendly.

Had Chinese at the Club last night, good. The courtesy bus took us home to the caravan park. The driver was a 29 yrs old guy. Don't loose him as an employee. Manners and respect are impeccable. Thanks Noel.

Club great ,warm and friendly staff but had a horrible experience with the Chinese take away. 1 hr and 15 minutes later and 4 people after me who had their orders filled before me. I'm not including the tables that ordered after me. Simple rice and 1 dish order and a soup .
A real souring experience to an otherwise pleasant night.
Not fair to the staff that had to field complaints .

Went for the Chinese food. It was amazing food and the speed it came out loved all of it. But the atmosphere was terrible there was a raffle that would constantly interrupt any conversation that was taking place. It had no "Chinese" atmosphere just pub atmosphere and the bar staff just left us standing there for about 5-10 minutes.

Went to iluka for a day out. Had been to the bowling club before and wasn't overly impressed with meals and the prices that were being charged. But. Pleasant surprise new chef new menu and reasonably priced. My partner had the roast pork and baked vegetables, I asked for a plate of baked veges and chips. Vegetables were so yummy and hot. My partners meal was great and his was hot, something we've found you don't get anymore . Nothing worse then cold food. So go along and try it out. Staff are all friendly and make you feel very welcome. ??'??

Great club with great greens, good restaurant and terrific amenities. Also good bar prices. Recommended!

Been to this place three times now. Can't recommend it enough! The service is brilliant, Alex was very informative of membership and his knowledge of the drinks was first class.
The food was outstanding! Ordered a few times from the specials, the ribs were out of this world, and the shanks are to die for, Oysters were amazing as well, my wife had the chicken schnitzel, meals so big we couldn't finish at a reasonable price.
The absolute gem of hospitality in Iluka. We'll be back and we won't be going anywhere but the bowlo!!

Was honestly the worst meal I've ever had. To start off with I found a hair in my garlic bread. The steak on my burger was cold and my partners chicken burger was burnt. We didn't get the full meal for either meals that was advertised on their menu. The only good thing was the water and hot chips.We asked the wait staff about our salad that was meant to come with the meal. They took it to the cooks and the cooks said there isn't meant to be salad. But the menu advertises otherwise.

Friendly country Club, cold beer and good food. What else could you want?

We were told the wait would be long but it was no problem. They didn't have any lemon lime and bitters or burgers however we were vet happy with the chicken snitzels. We added the garlic prawn topper to the snittys and that was just right. There was plenty of food for the four of us and they happily packed the rest in a take away container It cost about $25 each for the four of us so it's not a cheap meal but it was well cooked and tasted fine.

The club was welcoming and the barman explained the temporary membership to us and looked after that aspect. Staff were friendly and the place was very COVID wise a good attention to detail in that aspect. Food was delivered quite promptly however the lamb cutlets were a little over cooked ( burnt on the edges). Having said that, I ate them and was full. We will be back for sure.

We had lunch yesterday after visiting the Markets. Oysters fantastic as was the steak and chicken breast. A good selection of wines at reasonable prices. Both female waitstaff fantastic as was the bar staff. We were offered the courtesy bus back to the ferry. Highly recommend.
