From all the FB posts I was seeing, thought we better check this place out for dinner which seems reasonably priced & sounding yummy.
Atmosphere zero, tables placed along the wall with only a sparse few placed in the middle of room & with only a few tables dressed with table cloths.
Very unwelcoming & sad. Nothing like in the photos.
Spoke to a couple of locals who could see we were unsure & they were really nice helping us out with some direction.
There were 6 of us & we all ordered different things. Cheeseburger & Omlette were a hit but the Parmi was dry & overcooked, Seafood Basket also overcooked, Chips were served cold, Lamb & vegetables looked like it came out of a tin, Mash was good.
Apple crumble not really a crumble, more Oats.
Customer service at the bar wasn't very professional just average, no welcome or even a smile. 1 pint of Swan Draft $11.60 & he couldn't even pour a decent head on it or fill it to the top, a good mouthful or 2 missing. When asked to top it, it was just flat.
The lemon lime bitters same, asked to fill it more only to fill it with more ice, he then had trouble putting the lemon in one of the drinks with the tongs so he used his hand after scratching his head.
I thought with all the FB posts this place would've more accommodating in welcoming new people for dinner but unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Bar & food had a disconnect, seem to be separate businesses.
We Bought raffle tickets but unfortunately we left empty handed.
Sign at bar says "Members get free tickets with drinks" but not us.
Quiet place in the dining room but front bar had a few people in it. Not sure if that's because 'The Morris' is under renovations.
We all felt the same, Disappointing visit, Not in a hurry to go back, honestly nothing special unfortunately.
