We love the atmosphere! Absolutely lovely! The reception staff and bar stuff were wonderful, but the security guy wasn't friendly at all, we planned come after gallery and pickup our makeup stuff from car to touch up he thought we leaving and was rude. But we had a great time!

We stopped by for some dinner and a few after dinner drinks. It was VERY busy and there just wasn't enough staff. The dining room was at capacity and service was very slow. My wife had the prawns but couldn't eat them all because they weren't all cooked fully. I had the fisherman's basket, which was OK , but the salad could have been better. The salad my wife had was much better.
It's been a while since we were last here but probably won't be back any time soon.

Lots of parking and you are greeted with a warm smile as soon as you enter. The place is nice and clean!
The food at the restaurant was pretty good. Sunday roast with gravy $16.00 and bread/butter pudding $12.00 for non-members.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service provided by one of your staff members, Suzie, at Katoomba RSL Club on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at approximately 1 pm. Our experience with Suzie was unacceptable and left a significant negative impact on our group outing. We arrived at the club as a large group of ten people, including disabled, senior, and child members, with two relatives visiting from the UK for their first time in Australia. Despite our request for seating for all ten members, Suzie informed us that all tables in the restaurant area were fully booked. However, upon further exploration, we noticed numerous empty long tables without reservation signs. When we questioned Suzie about the availability of seating in those areas, she pointed us towards sections with tall tables and stools, which were not suitable for our group, particularly for disabled individuals. When we inquired if there were any disabled-friendly seating options, Suzie responded with disdain, claiming that all seats in that area were indeed disabled-friendly. This interaction was not only shocking but also deeply disappointing, as it felt discriminatory towards our group, especially given that we are all local customers. Furthermore, Suzie's dismissive attitude only exacerbated the situation, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disheartened.
Eventually, we were assisted by the bar staff, who kindly offered to combine three small tables to accommodate our group. Their helpfulness was in stark contrast to Suzie's demeanor. I have attached a photo illustrating the abundance of empty space without reservation signs, which contradicts Suzie's claim of full occupancy.
I urge Katoomba RSL management to thoroughly investigate this matter and address the concerning behavior exhibited by Suzie. Additionally, I request that measures be taken to ensure that all customers, regardless of their ethnicity, receive fair and respectful treatment at your establishment. Our experience at Katoomba RSL Club on Easter long weekend was marred by this incident, and it tarnished what should have been a joyous family gathering. I sincerely hope that steps will be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A very good lunch at the Red Poppy Cafe within the club. The meals served were ample and flavoursome. Dining room service by the young lady was amazingly served with a great smile.

An amazing facility with very good staff. We are not members, but we're allowed to sign in.

We had a couple of drinks and a meal. The prices are very good and the food was good, although not "wow".

In saying "only" 4 stars I feel a bit guilty, but the way I score means 4 is very good and would love to go there again.

Had on the second attempt a decent meal. The first choice was nothing like the photos on the menu board. ( Chicken and lentils soup) Into the bargain the soup was like warm. However without any problems they exchanged for bangers and mash which was excellent.

Awful food served for lunch and reminded me of the food I was served as a kid in the migrant hostel.
Ordered the roast chicken dinner and it was extremely dry as were the potatoes. I would suggest that it was cooked a long time before and kept in a warmer so the club could cater for international tourists. It came with a little gravy but was so dry that I went to the kitchen area for some more gravy. The young man said gravy was $1 extra. I said that it came with gravy but was so dry I would like some more. He stormed off in a huff and returned with a small jug of gravy,
Our granddaughter had the cheeseburger kids' meal, and the burger was very dry and rock hard. She spat it out.
The club appears to be concentrating on catering to tourist coaches and ignoring the needs of members who they have now forgotten supported the Club during Covid restrictions. I will not eat there again or renew my Club membership.

Porche restaurant in Katoomba. Plenty seats available and parking is available for members. Membership price is quite cheap and you get discounts for food as well. The price of food is quite reasonable for the standard of restaurant is offering. Washrooms are available and it's all maintained. Tried the meatballs, garlic prawns and lamb pizza.

We dined at the Red Poppy Brasserie twice when we were In Katoomba and the food was good both times. Desserts are delicious too so worth visiting when in the region

Definitely avoid if coming from out of town. Do not expect the RSL experience of Sydney.

Staff were uninviting and uninterested. We bought the special (chicken skewers) they were microwaved ten seconds later and still cold! We politely asked to have them heated further, staff members very nose up at us, and still brought skewers back cold. We just left without eating.

Great dining experience at the Red Poppy Brassiere at the Katoomba RSL. Plentiful sized servings of food, very tasty and great wait service. We booked a table for a late dinner and had a lovely meal and will definitely be coming back next time we visit Katoomba.

Reasonably priced drinks + food and a great atmosphere in a very modern RSL. We got served our food by a robot! The dining area is really nice with high glass windows looking out to the street.

The food is great in the restaurant. Staff seemed a little flustered but it was a long weekend so I imagine they were heavily under the pump.
Nice and airy with lots of windows which was nice.

Worth a visit

We rolled up around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were told that we came just in time, because the place would fill up quickly. You'll see it was pretty empty then. Within 30 minutes the place started to rock as customers poured in. So, if you haven't booked then arrive early.

We ordered a chicken scalopini each. I also had a Bilpin Pink Lady Apple cider. Both were delicious. The service was friendly too, particularly the bartender.

this is the only RSL that I have been that doesn't service any complimentary drinks except water. membership cost 10 dollars per year.

the only thing I like about this place is the restaurant that serves good food although price is 2 dollars more since I am not a member. tried their pizza and it was freshly made. it was an absolute divine.

Katoomba RSL club was recently rebuilt after a fire in 2017. The club is very clean and staff were extremely helpful. The food was excellent and the prices were spot on.

Everything was great, service from ALL staff in the club, cleanliness, asthmophere. The Red Poppy Brasserie was fantastic, staff was friendly and welcoming. Food was awesome, beef brisket was one of the best I have ever had.

The food and beverages are excellent in the Red Poppy Brasserie. The site is well decorated and spaced with COVID safe environment. We received warm welcome by Paul in the front seating desk on arrival. The staff are so friendly and helpful with every aspect, from simple cutlery to a glass of water. They never reject any reasonable request. We love their serving and hospitality manner. In our two days' stay in Katoomba, we visited the club twice.

Staff were very welcoming and made visitors to feel just as welcome as members. Food was very reasonably priced and could not fault it. The venue is modern and very well presented. Great place to visit for the whole family.

Loved the place, it is a quiet place. For entry, you need to show ID. Everywhere is clean.

In the showcase, there are Turkish and Japanese arm things.
I saw one letter it is written by Ataturk to the Australian soldiers I think for Anzac Day.
It was nice to see this kind of connection.

Nice modern club with friendly, helpful staff and nice choice of food. The experience signing in with the Covid thing was a bit over enthusiastic but understandable. Food is over-priced for a club but is pretty good. Overall a nice venue to enjoy a few sherbets and a meal if staying in lower area of Katoomba. Would go back.

Thank you for your wonderful service, delicious food and welcoming staff. We had 20 kids and adults, balloons and a cake and the Brasserie staff were fabulous. Highly recommend.

We had a delicious dinner with table service at the Red Poppy Brasserie. The staff were all very professional, friendly, courteous and helpful. We were astounded how well the tables and chairs were cleaned down after diners left. Dining area is modern, atmosphere is very pleasant and tables are well spacedThe meals were fairly priced considering the quantity, quality and presentation of the food. Drinks were well priced. Good range of wines.Overall It felt like we had been to a classy restaurant. We wish our local RSL was to this high standard!

Dropped in off the street & luckily got the last available table for service. Meals were excellent & well prepared & presented. Staff were friendly & very courteous. I had a rare steak that was absolutely beautiful & it is very hard to get a rare steak in such a busy environment. Can highly recommend The Red Poppy Brasserie. The club itself is clean with friendly greeting & reasonably priced drinks. Can highly recommend a visit for anyone visiting Katoomba looking for a nice place to enjoy a drink or 2 & enjoy a top quality meal.

Beautiful facility and very friendly and accommodating staff!The grounds are lovely and clean. The gentlemen at the entrance and the brasserie were very kind and welcoming when we went there on a Thursday night. Absolutely recommend coming here for a nice dinner!

The Bistro's menu caterers for all tastes, including vegetarian, and after several visits the meals have all been excellent, well above other clubs/bistros and restaurants! The staff are the most professional and friendly I have come across. Highly recommended.

Really delicious food, clean restaurant and friendly staff. Had a meal here today thanks to Dine and Discover vouchers. Everyone enjoyed their meals and atmosphere was also great. Lovely.
