A bit odd you have to become a member, but we got the discounts to offset it easily enough.
Ordered the Margharita pizza and the schnitzel with the parmi topping.
Pizza was really big, and plentiful. Fresh pesto on top too
The schnitzel was rather thick in chicken, which was great, the roast potatoes and veg were spot
International crowd working there too, which is pretty great.
Highly recommend.

This place is quite large and the staff etc are great and efficient.
You do have to sign in and become a member, which offers you a discount. No problem it's a quick and easy process. We had 1 lunch here and two dinners. The food was always consistent and fantastic. The best chips ever. I had the steak, salad, chips and gravy and my husband said this was the best Snapper he ever had. He also had a curry that was fantastic. I think NSW has the best chips in the world. On another occasion I had the roast beef and gravy roll for lunch. There is an outdoor area for smokers, where you can watch the tv or have a drink etc. Wine is reasonably priced.

After a few days remote and traveling solo, this club felt like a real treat. I had a great visit.
The prices were reasonable and the Supreme Pizza I had was fab. My taste buds were loving it!
$5 membership card gets you in which also gives you a $3 voucher to use, which I forgot about Doh!

Disappointed after my most recent visit to this facility. The bistro has been replaced by a cafe-style dining experience. The menu is not wonderful. Very limited especially if looking for fresh and healthy meals, or vegetarian.I feel as though locals who expect a pub/club meal would be very disappointed. The prices are high. Meals were well presented but very expensive. A (very) small side salad is $7.50.

An additional cafe inside the club is equally limited and pricey...

Best bet in town is a cafe in the Main Street called The Gecko.

The food and staff were amazing, we had a few vegetarian meals here and they would have to be up there with the best meals we have had on our travels. We joined their club and if I'm ever back here I will definitely return. We were very surprised because the pub didn't have any vegetarian options so we were recommended this place and it did not fail to deliver 10/10.

Customer Service: On arrival, we were told we could not enter unless we became members as the bar was members only. We were handed the forms and the minimum joining fee is $3. Nothing major, but at no stage we're informed that we get a $3 voucher with our membership, or that paying for the $5 membership gives you discounts on your meals.
The barman didn't seem to know what Great Northern was. He kept searching in their fridge, but it was on tap.
Venue: The signage inside could really do with some work. It took me a while to find the men's toilet, then I directed multiple lost patrons as they also couldn't find the toilet. The entry to their poker machine area also has no signage.

Early afternoon 26/7/2023
a group of us came in looking for some good eating places for the week we are visiting Lightning Ridge. We were firmly instructed by the lady behing the reception counter, till you pay and join, no bistro for you! So fair enough, we'll think about it and begin to depart the establishment.
One of our group is diabetic and needed a suger fix fairly quickly, so we just bought an icecream near their exit not knowing this side of the counter is also against their law! I hope the sweet young girl who served it up in the cup didnt get into trouble since it would have possibly now been thrown into the bin.
And that's all because that same lady ran over to us and refused her from servicing us, even after explaining why.

We'll never recommend this place!

We were fairly disappointed. Slow roast beef was cold (we sent it back), the replacement was dry and tough. Schnitzel was OK, pasta was good, but lamb shanks were mutton with the greasy bland sauce.

When we arrived here for dinner we discovered that it is a members only club so we needed to join the club if we wanted to eat here. We could join for $3 each adult and get a $3 voucher per person to spend or $5 per adult would get discounts on food and drink. As we were only overnighting in Lightning Ridge we did the $3 membership. The food was delicious and the club was nice. We had main course and dessert.

Absolutely amazing food! So fresh, huge serves, best biggest and most tasty parmy we have ever had, and wonderful friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

Staff are all wonderful food was excellent and they have a pickup service where they will pick you up and drop you off back to your accommodation... Highly recommend

Lady on the front desk was rude and abrupt a d demeaning and would not listen. Her only agenda was to get money out of us (become members) and pushed and pushed whilst one of us was trying to access their license. We walked out, not dealing with that! Would review the rest of the club as a whole but the first stop at the front was enough for us. No second chances. Get yourself someone who is welcoming on the front desk!!

Would of cost nearly $50 just to get in as we were told we had to be members .... I guess they just lost what could of been around $500 all over a stupid rule that isn't even a NSW requirement for licensed clubs
Went to the outback resort pub and had pizzas which were great and it was a better atmosphere

Loved the club very beautiful and calming place, food way too slow people were waiting over 1hour for a toasted sandwich not good at all.
Our own experience was 1hr 20minutes for a bowl of hot chips, needless to say we ask for a refund and left.
The lady who was the cook was too busy looking at everyone, obviously had no idea how to multitask.

This meal was one of the most average meals I have had on my trip, dim sims from the frozen section at the super market. Crumb cutlets that you had to peel the burnt Crumb of to eat. Saving grace was the short soup was delicious.

Good sized portion of Mongolian Beef - enough for two adults, and the Special fried rice was nice. Lots of people but happy staff.

We're absolutely surprised by the Asian night special menu. We ordered beef black beans and sweet&sour pork, with fried rice. And being picky Asians we all loved the foods! And the fried rice was so good! I enjoyed it much more than that of most Chinese restaurants in Sydney. Also all the staffs were friendly and helpful, very professional team.

We werent expecting a place like this at Lightning Ridge. You need your licence to join as it is a club.We had Chinese for dinner, there was pizzas and normal pub meals.

Members only club, so getting in was a bit time consuming. The serving size in their Chinese restaurant was big and the flavour was excellent.
Prices are expensive compared to a coastal Chinese restaurant but considering the distance that ingredients have to be transported probably fair.

Great club and staff but they need to discuss with members, the quality of the Chinese meals served. I would guess that I have eaten Chinese cuisine once a fortnight for 50 years- that I estimate to be over 1300 meals. I was warned by 2 members " don't order the sweet and sour pork...it's tough". Toughest ever as was the beef and cashews. Served minus the cashews Waited over 30 mins. Management needs to address these concerns. I feel sorry for the residents who have no choice and are offered these tough choices.

We had an Asian lunch there three weeks ago. Nice food. Club under refit while we were there. Can't say a lot at this time.

After seeing on their FB page a social lawn bowls day, we decided to stay an extra night and attend, however when we arrived they looked at us stunned as it was not happening. We were disappointed in this as it was posted by them the day before and had we known it wasn't happening we would have reconsidered our decision to stay an extra night.
The bowls club itself looks great, the staff are friendly, atmosphere is good, facilities are great and prices are reasonable. It is just a shame about the bowls day which is the reason for the score.

One of the worst meals Ive ever eaten the seafood basket was way over priced, the fish was tiny, the salad was terrible the chips were unbearable and some were soggy. The people we sat with didnt finish their meals as they were utterly disappointed in the quality of their meals.The prices went up and quality went down.Way over rated, show some pride in your meals. I will never be going back.

There is not a very small club, bar and coffee available, as well as a Chinese kitchen. Very clean and the staff is very gentle. It is recommended to come here. You can have dinner or gamble. The most important thing is that it has good air conditioning. You must be a member to enter, but u can get u money back , the member fee is $3 . The free energy charge is available .

I felt very safe with all the tape and the signs up for COVID. Get some of the happy people out the front into the bistro and bar area because there are some cranky people who might need to go. Chinese food was great

Last thing you expect. Staff are friendly, the bistro has an awesome range of food, mostly Chinese. Tap beer is $6.10 a schooner. Best place for dinner in town
