Had my mothers wake there staff and people so friendly kids allowed

Wasn't the most friendliest bar service- no smiles or much talk. Looked dated and only one female toilet that I could find. Patrons stared at me when I entered, which was a bit daunting. Had to park in a side street but it wasnt too far away. I didn't eat the clubs food as I went for a work function in which they provided the food so can't comment on that. It was good sitting outside under the umbrellas next to the bowling green though. As the club is not located near me, I wouldn't go again just for the sake of it.

9.15pm bar closed. Opening hours said 10pm. Tried to join get a beer. Closed. Sat 2 December 2023.

Good meal very quiet club. Got the stare from what looks like regular drinkers who just sit to waste the day away

Our first ever visit. Over from the UK and called in with my wife for a beer, it was a Monday so no food this time. We received a very friendly welcome from three seniors enjoying their beers. It's a very smart looking bowling club. We're in Mayfield visiting our Son until the end of March so will definitely be returning, hopefully for food next time.

Update: We have now revisited with our Son on Wednesday 25 January 2023 for the Curry & Trivia night. Our performance in the trivia was poor (last!) but the chicken curry with rice and poppadom was excellent. More visits to follow for sure.

Not a bad little club, tidy, simple, staff friendly, courteous with good service.
Squid bistro meal underwhelming, but bistro prices not exorbitant & kitchen looked fairly clean @ a glance - will try some other dishes for better appraisal.
Chicken curry meal on next visit was good- clean, simple, not spicy but ok. Garlic & cheese bread pretty nice too.
Beer nice & cold ?

Lovely club, and great facilities. The food / and pricing from the Bistro was exceptional good an a great Chef. The Club should be very proud of itself.

First time to watch the bowling playing...a little like golf putter but bowling by hand...need stable / balance hit/throw the ball...

The 2 gentlemen that I shared a beer with reminded me how friendly the people of Newcastle and the Hunter are.

Great bowling club, fantastic food for the prices, all round good experience for a quick dinner. The carpet is worth visiting in it's own.

Tucked away..MayWest Bowlo is a suburban gem! Great new bistro as well. Rack of Ribs is superb.

We love bringing our family here! Kids can run around on the green, the food is always great and we love the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere!

Great place to take the kids on a Sunday afternoon. Astroturf bolwing area thr kids can play and they provided scoccer nets and a ball for the kids to play with. Great family atmosphere and the staff were really great!!!

Nice little club. We had fun at the Karaoke, come along if you can. It's a fun night.

Had a great time doing our event here. The administration and bar staff lovely and supportive, even going above and beyond to make us feel at home. The Bistro was bustling and delivered meals for the 40 or so attendees plus another group at the same time. The food was good, pastas, steaks, burgers all a hit. Very keen to do our event there again as well as go back again for lunch.

Only had 1 beer but it was good

In times of continued concern of pandemic scenarios, it's a place where you can let GO of the mediocre & embrace the truest of Mayfield's long standing venues in the heart of Newcastle. A hearty menu for the famished at the in-house bistro, cheap and affordable beverages not limited in variety, it is shining through as a local novacastrian gem rich too in history, atmosphere, good vibes and family accommodating environment.

Membership is required and Very reasonable.

Ok club but too many singlets and thongs allowed. Bar staff very good. More disabled parking needed.

Our local bowlo. Love coming here. The food is sensational and reasonably priced. Members are welcoming and there is a good vibe about the place. The bistro staff are always asking for feedback, so if you're not satisfied, have a chat to them and I'm sure they'll sort it out. A good variety of pub faves and Asian dishes is available.
