UPDATE: 14/10/22 A lovely spring day. Nothing changes. The course was in excellent condition given they had 20ml of rain the day before. We've had a very wet winter in SA ...... Murray Bridge GC is a go to course during the wetter months. Fairways had an excellent coverage of grass. Greens were excellent to putt on. Bunkers were all raked. New controllers and wiring are being put in around the course. Work has begun on the two new holes. Exciting times ahead for the club. We chatted with Tim (head greenkeeper) and congratulated him on the condition of the course. Steve was very welcoming in the pro shop. We had another great day out...... Well worth the short 45 min drive up the freeway from Adelaide. Please read my previous reviews.
UPDATE: 22/4/22
Beautiful autumn day. As expected, the course was in excellent condition. We were reminded of the beautiful location of the course......... Lots of trees. Fairways greens and bunkers were all manicured. We met Tim the new head greenkeeper and complimented him on the condition of the course. In the couple of months he's been there he was pleased with how the course is progressing. Steve was welcoming in the pro shop. We had an excellent day out. Well worth the 45 minute drive up the freeway from Adelaide. Be sure to add Murray Bridge golf course to your bucket list of courses to play in SA. Please read my previous reviews.
UPDATE: 21/1/22 A hot 35 degree forecast....... We tee'd off at 7.00 and were finished by 10.30 .....temp was was only mid 20's. Given that we are in the middle of summer the course was in excellent condition. Greens rolled beautifully and fairways gave excellent roll. We chatted with Joe (head greenkeeper) and complimented him on the condition of the course. He let us know that work would begin this year on the development of the new holes.
UPDATE: 19/3/21 The course was in excellent condition. Very peaceful setting amongst gum and pine trees. A great country course that is always well maintained with manicured fairways, bunkers and greens. There are some excellent holes....... I particularly like the par 3s and the dog leg holes. There is good drainage and you can play the course all year round. The course has less rainfall than others and we've often found it a good choice on those wintery days where it is raining elsewhere.
UPDATE: 14/8/20 It's been nearly 12 months since our last game. The course was in excellent condition given that we are in the middle of winter. Always a good course to play in winter where other courses can be boggy. The greens have much improved over the last 12 months. They were fast and the ball rolled beautifully. Bunkers and fairways are well maintained. Well done to Joe (Head groundsman ) and Hayden. Please read my previous reviews.
UPDATE 6/9/19
Forecast for the day was rain, hail and strong winds. We chose to drive to Murray Bridge from Adelaide because it always seems to miss most of the forecast bad weather. We were correct. We left Adelaide in the middle of storms and arrived in Murray Bridge full of sunshine and no rain!! It was still very windy but the beautiful gums and pine trees helped to protect us during the day.
We are just coming out of winter and the fairways, bunkers and greens were in excellent condition. There is excellent drainage around the course. We congratulated Joe (groundsperson) on the condition of the course.
We had a great day out...... well worth the drive. We look forward to our next round.
