I came here on two consecutive evenings, both times not long before they were due to close. On the first evening, after signing in by allowing them to record electronically my German drivers licence I went to the food counter to order my food and then, separately to the bar to get my beer. I was told that they would be closing soon but they still prepared me 6 natural oysters as a starter and then a decent sized plate of fish and chips. I sat by the big window on the 1st floor overlooking the beach and ocean, but it got dark quickly & I soon I found myself staring at my own reflection... Even though I ended up being their last customer before closing at 8:00 p.m., I really appreciated the friendliness and willingness of staff to chat with me. In fact as I was contemplating where to eat on the second night in Shoal Bay I decided to return. I had forgotten to check the time and it was really only 10 minutes or so before closing. But when I said that I only wanted some oysters and a drink they were happy for me to stay. The oysters were absolutely delicious. And even though I was their last customer on two consecutive evenings they seemed very relaxed, friendly and patient with me. EXCELLENT!!
