We went to the club for dinner last month and have been back 4 times since. The Jack and Dolly do great food - simple pub food cooked nicely and reasonably priced. Lovely service too! We have two little kids and the play room is great for their ages (1 and 3) and keeps them amused.

Great food and quiet venue. Rare to find Wagyu steak on a menu in bowling club. Go give it a try. The Mrs and I did couldn't fault the service or the food.

Went there as a group called EACH for lunch yesterday and a few of us ordered the lunch special chicken schnitzel and were served half a schnitzel, it looked like someones left overs as you saw the white where it was cut in half. No one had ever been served half a schnitzel before. We decided never TO GO BACK THERE. apart from 2 other people there were no other customers. (Not surprising) The chips were very dry. The salad was nice. I had the beef cheek pie which was nice but no pastry.

Food and service were amazing. I had the cheeseburger which was so fresh and delicious.
As for the atmosphere, it's an old bowling club so does need a little face lift but not a deal breaker. Will definitely return.

The food was good but for the love of God stop putting the steak on top of the chips. It makes the chips soggy and to cut the steak you either have to tip half of your plate onto the table or cut the steak on a separate plate. Other than that it was nice

There is a new restaurant at the bowling club: Jack and Dolly. Nice name. First night tonight (14 Apr 23). The patrons at next table were really excited, "back to pub food" they said. Hit the nail on the spot. Certainly different to the previous restaurant (photos from previous posting of the last restaurant), good ordinary pub food. The slow cooked lamb shoulder was soft, the others are hardly differentiable from the other hotels in town. Lots more staff in the kitchen, probably good employment opportunity.

The lady at the door is very friendly and helpful. Makes you feel right at home, like you've been going there for years. The food is really good too

Our friends told us about how the food was here, bit wow what a suprise. We just had 3 starters and fries to share. Smoked trout on charcoal toast and devilled eggs were my favourite.

if you are after a good steak cooked perfectly - then this is the place. Friendly staff, great service. I haven't had a bad meal yet.

Limited, overpriced menu and pretty mediocre food. Even more limited beer and wine selection.
Want to spend $40+ on a schnitzel and salad? This is your chance, but honestly I've had better versions for a $15 lunch special.

Went here for Friday lunch. We are a group of 9 people. If you are a local, you can get a membership for $15 valid for 3 years. We got some champagne to celebrate and it was pretty cheap for the price.

As for the food, the scotch fillet, the fish and the duck were all very good. The portion will fill you up and it was really tasty. I will probably go with colleagues to try the place again since I want to try the other dishes in the menu.

We just moved to Picton and looking for a regular favourite, we have found it! The staffs are really friendly, the place has a good feel about it and the food .... what's not to like? The photos speak for themselves. Amazing how the staff care about the food, the presentation and the customers.

Food wasn't great at all. We ordered 2 steaks, 1 well done and 1 medium, medium one was cooked alright but the well done one was more raw than the medium one. The kids meal was under cooked and the "garlic bread" was not garlic bread at all, wasn't a pleasant meal at all. Definitely won't be going back. On the plus side the red lemonade was good ??????

Bare bones basic club.
Good service at the Bistro.
Limited choice....
Food is well cooked. Extremely expensive comparatively for a basic plate of food.
Value for money is poor.
The chips with Curry gravy were odd. No gravy to speak of but with pulled Chicken???
Often busy. Waiting times for food can vary. There's better value places to go in the area with comparable food.
A boring establishment although on occasions there is entertainment.
The main bar is smallish and service is often slow.
Wine selection is Yellow tail or box cask so underwhelming is an understatement.
There are other bottles available from the bar also.
Pricing in the Bistro seems to have changed the class of people using the Bistro compared to previous years.

We thought we would try out the new bistro to support all eateries in the area. With the two pubs just up the road, this place probably will not last 6 months. The food is well over priced. The prices do not match the quality. My $41 scotch fillet, although tasty ok, just come on a small bed of mash potato. Nothing else! The scotch fillet at Picton hotel is heaps better and heaps cheaper. We won't be going back. If they don't change the menu/food and pricing they will not last in a small town like Picton.

The Bowling Pheasant is excellent. Great food, warm service and exceptional value. The food is miles ahead of any competitor and only moderately more expensive. Good food lovers will be impressed.

It's a shame the rest of the venue is lacking though. Three greens and only one group were allowed to play at a time. What? Play your cards right and Picton Bowling Club could become a culinary destination.

I hope it's a success.

A very, very classic bowling club rolled in with some RSL functions. Remember that time you went to the RSL in the 80s? This will remind you of all the good times you had 35 years ago.

Food is adequate (Bruschetta was extremely average, lady told us 4 pieces, it was 4 pieces because they cut the two pieces in half) , nothing exciting going on. Price is adequate, still nothing exciting. The bar staff can be chatty, and seem to have strong opinions about things - something I abhor in the service industry.

It might just be me and my people, but it just left a very bland taste with us after all.

Oh, and the bar doesn't take card, you have to use an ATM with a $3.50 fee to get cash for your $11 pre mix.
