The Ex Servos Club, Nowra NSW

Attended the christmas lunch with my partner and our daughter, food and atmosphere was great. Plenty to go around, staff were so friendly and hospitable. Felt for what I think was the manager being berated by an angry customer about the public holiday surcharge (which is normal everywhere), the staff dealt with him so well. Only to see him complaining again about the dessert to a young staff member. Just wanted to say a huge thanks and extend our gratefulness to all the staff and chefs for putting on such a great lunch!!

Unfortunately the food was less than average. Salt & Pepper Squid was out of a packet and overcooked. Lamb skewers were inedible. Overcooked, full of fat & gristle and more like Hogget. Trying to chew them became tedious. Chicken schnitzels again were mass produced, deep fried and overcooked. The chips had been murdered (most probably re heated in the deep fryer more than once) and the salads ......... words defy me.
We will definitely not be back.

We came here from out of town for a family lunch on the advice of our Nowra family. We had previously been when it was the all you can eat and not loved it- however the new restaurant and owners are fantastic- the food portions are large and tasty - the food comes out fast and the staff and all super friendly and accommodating- we left with full bellies and a smile on our face! If you're from Nowra (or anywhere for that matter!) check out this lovely club restaurant - highly recommended and let's support local!

I gave 3 stars for the very overworked staff who are absolutely lovely but definitely need more staff on, especially on a Saturday night. The play area is great for the kids but after waiting over 1 1/2 hours for basic food, it was starting to wear pretty thin. Nothing on the menu if you are a vegetarian except pizza which is pretty unappealing. We ended up buying the kids risotto and macaroni which at $14.00 each was a bit rich for the amount you get. The garlic bread came out first, i guess thats to soften the blow of the rest taking ages to come out. It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to put a couple of vegetarian options on the menu. We will BYO sandwiches next time we have a birthday party on because we can't fault thr chips. Liked it better when the self serve bistro was there, atleast we didn't have to wait in line to order, eat bread and then hope we would get fed before bedtime.

The restaurant upstairs has had a few changes over time and the current children's play centre is a pretty appalling place to have a quiet lunch if they are holding a birthday party!
The food was reasonable but seems maybe I may be 'too old' to tolerate waiting stupidly long to eat a simple lunch to children's excited screaming!
However, if you have kids you may feel different to me! 😀
Other than that it's mostly just another RSL club downstairs...
