Great Little Club for a beer and a Chinese feed , but don't get the Cheese burger the beef patty was literally falling to pieces before I'd even started eating it, That's a First . My opinion stick to the Asian menu it's always pretty good

Ask me what my favourite meal is for the last 40 years, and I would instantly say; "laksa" Souths bistro does the best version I have had for years, and that's saying something! Thankyou so much, delicious and perfect 10/10

I'm a new member, having joined about 2 weeks ago. I tried to take advantage of the $5 discount at the bistro and ordered the hamburger ???" which was one of the items on special. Unbeknown to me, this doesn't apply to meals on the special list. It would have been appreciated if clearly indicated (in writing) saving the embarrassment of being informed "very sternly" that it wasn't. Probably obvious to long term members but not for someone who struggled to read the distant chalkboard menu.
On a positive note the burger was tasty, made with a large rissole which I thoroughly enjoyed. Whilst I was eating the kitchen staff of three sat down to the same burgers themselves, so I'd suggest most likely very good quality.

We attended to watch my son fight in the Mayhem event. Street parking near by, which was handy as the car park was full. Nice Chinese meal, although they did take a little longer than expected for the food to come out, but it was fairly busy so to be expected. A small club but overall pretty good.

A fantastic club with a great community spirit. The food is incredible and occasionally they have some very good live music upstairs. The INXS Tribute show, ABBA tribute, and lots of local shows including Ty Penshorn & his DIAMOND tribute show! .

Tidy club, great service & greeted by the lovely lady Supervisor and staff at the door. Good seating options and an excellent tasty chinese meal, huge portions. Refreshing to get personalised service in a larger club.

Beer was good,service was ok,meals huge but not hot.
Dont know why the big screen was on free to air tv with the volume loud when you are suppose to have the racing on,this was annoying,dont go out to watch free to air tv we wanted to bet & listen to the racing.
Nothing special about this club.

I recently had my engagement party at Souths, and I couldn't be happier with how smoothly everything went. Grace was so helpful with filling us in on the details we needed prior to the day, and the booking process was simple. On the day, Simon helped me with several things - getting the fans turned on, turning off the outdoor music so we could have our own playlist going - I was just over the moon with how accommodating he was. We used the Alfresco space, including the downstairs grassy area, and we were able to customise the space as we needed it. We barely decorated because of how nice the space looks on its own. We also needed to order extra catering during the party (nothing to do with the venue, we underestimated how much our guests would want to eat ?), which Simon was happy to assist with. We used our laptop connected to the TV to play games and run a door prize for our guests, and sometimes that can be a nightmare to set up, but it was a simple plug and go. We were allowed to arrive three hours before our event started so we could set up, and I was even given a trolley to help me carry things to and from the car! I'm so thankful to the team at Souths for helping make our party a success ??

Only a basic RSL style menu, mostly serves Chinese meals with some Thai dishes thrown in. The whole fish I had was decent but would've been nice to have some more typical RSL options.

The Chinese restaurant is the best around. Big servings and full of flavour.

Went for a meal and was sadly disappointed.......quality of food not good at the main restaurant, Chinese.
We ordered 2 sizzle platters looking forward to them, we were expecting what they served kotara, not the same
But salt and pepper squid not bad, quantity not the same. Oh well ?

A nostalgic trip for me as I hadn't been there for nearly 60 years. It is a nice club and the food was very nice at a very reasonable price.

A great place for a quiet one or two or ..... Anyways, food is always good here. They catered well for our function upstairs. Staff are always friendly.

A friend of mine lives close to South's if we feel like a quick tasty meal it is a great place to go, prices are very good, meal sizes are generous

Great local club... good Chinese bistro

I ate here on a Sunday night before a show upstairs. The venue has plenty of space and is tidy. The seating area less than half full. Plenty of options to watch football with dinner and this was expected, given it is a leagues club. The venue has two eateries, one an Asian servery, the Lion's Fortune Bistro. The other, a cafe style service option called Chaddies, located in the same dining area at the main bar. Both offer hot food. The cafe offers desserts and sandwiches also. The Asian servery offered Australian options in addition to Chinese and Thai. I opted for the Chicken Schnitzel with Chips and Vegetables with a Dianne sauce. Twenty five minute wait, $22.90 with no table service. My plate was loaded. Large portion of chicken with a crust that was good. Five varieties of vegetable including greens, somewhat warm, but what ruined the meal was the Dianne sauce loaded with Worcestershire sauce to a point that it was watery, soaking into the schnitzel, and barely edible from the tang of over-powering Worcestershire.
My wife ordered from Chaddies. Salt and Pepper Squid with Chips and Salad with Tartar Sauce. For $17.50, table service, served in 10 minutes. The squid appeared to be of a 'frozen and fried' variety.
I would consider eating there again if I had reason to be there, but wouldn't seek this venue out for its food alone based on this experience.

Fantastic spot to socialise with friends & family. Great staff who are always so friendly & courteous to all Terrific family atmosphere here & with tremendous food available from the Restaurant who cater for both Asian & Western Meal. # Give South a look in when your next after a great meal or quiet family friendly surroundings.

Very nice venue to go have a meal, watch a live show, or have a go on the pokies.
Either way this venue is awesome, very neat and tidy and very comfortable

Had a very nice meal at South's. Drinks are all nice and cold. Still ok

First time there everything was fine (hence the 2 stars) but the second time, the same meal made me sick and I had to go to the bathroom. The club itself is fine, the bistro there is terrible. My second time there I was sick 5 minutes after leaving.

Friendly, quick service. Coffee OK. Please change what cheese you use in your sandwiches. I had toasted cheese and ham and the cheese was runny and tasted of chemicals ... yuk!

Great staff/service, great venue, coffee, drink prices. Not children-friendly in the evenings. Saw Heath Franklin's Chopper comedy act here, a world of difference away from its 2007 inception but questionable comedy promoter/advertising still a bit confusing as it advertised 7pm-11:30pm and it all wrapped up by 10pm, could be better clearly defined as not everyone has f?c??'??k.

The new caterers have an excellent menu and it was reflected in the quality meal my wife and I had. Prices are great, food tasty and plentiful - what else do you need??

There were 2 steak options on the menu, the rump steak or the scotch fillet. As there was $3 difference in the price I opted for the scotch fillet. When the food came I don't if the chef knew what a scotch fillet was as I got a very unchewable rump steak. That or the chef did not know I know my type of steaks.
