Nice atmosphere outside, inside needs a revamp, average food and poor service.
My first visit I ordered a steak which was the chewiest steak I've had in my life, including cheap pub steaks. Beer battered chips were nice. Would not recommend.
Staff were abrupt, didn't smile or exchange pleasantries when given, tables were dirty, and it was unclear for the first 15 minutes whether to order at the table or bar.
My second visit was just as disappointing - lots of staff and limited patrons - yet tables were dirty and staff were short, abrupt and lacked training.
We were seated outside and it was unclear again whether to order at the table or at the bar, and the table needed a light clean.
I ordered an expensive schooner of cider and a beer at $25 (no prices listed or menu given) for both and some shoestring fries. The fries at $12 were undercooked and under salted and missed the change in sauce listed on the order (rectified) despite there being many staff and limited patrons.
A staff member came over after we finished to awkwardly ask if they could take the menu but didn't bother to ask how the meal went, nor to take the empty glasses or finished plates.
Staff were constantly asking other tables what their table number was and whether they'd ordered certain food - often in groups of two staff for tables of two.
Very disappointing and this is the only pub in walking distance from Wolli Creek, it has so much potential. For a members club the cost and the service is just not up to par and I will not be back in the near future.
