Ordered Chinese food, very average food for the price (two meals, large rice and an entree - over $70), super oily but a weird cheap oil taste. Had a bowl and regretted it, threw the rest in the bin.

The best Salt and Pepper prawns I have ever had well worth the money. The service is top rated from all the staff at the club. If you are on holidays ......make a point of going there you will not be disappointed.

Pleasant club/atmosphere, attentive/friendly staff. Previous google posts suggested food could be a hit or miss, we got both. Worst/strangest prawn cocktail ever, but nice Mongolian chicken and seafood comb.
Overall, an average meal.

As a local this place is so hit and miss. Brilliant one night and, like tonight, bloody awful the next. Hard to believe the same place with the same contractor can be so inconsistent. Huge disappointment.

29/1/2024 Since writing this review we decided to give the club another try (6 months later). 8 of us had takeaway and all were very happy with our meals, they were back to their original flavour. I would now rate 5 stars again.

Up until 6 months ago we always enjoyed our meals from the bowling club. They have been going down hill since then. Saturday night we ordered take away, 3 meat dishes and a seafood dish. They were all bland and apart from the difference between beef, lamb & prawns they tasted exactly the same. Szechuan lamb had no flavor no spices and had the same 'sauce' as the Mongolian beef and the beef in black bean sauce. Friends ordered with us and were as equally disappointed. We won't be back until something changes

this is such a great community club with huge dining area, bar, lawn bowling, etc. Staff is quite nice, and courteous.
Patrons can now deposit/withdraw cash straight outta their TAB accounts, free of charge at this club.

The club offers a standard-priced menu with decent food, and although there was a bit of a wait, it wasn't too bad. Luckily, I was immersed in my book, so the time passed without much concern. The understaffing issue became evident, likely due to a bustling restaurant and numerous takeaway orders. Nevertheless, the staff remained friendly and helpful throughout. An added perk was a voucher for drinks at the bottle-o, providing a six-pack for just $10 and enhancing the overall value of the experience. I'd recommend this place for dinner if you're in Urunga.

The club house is great. Looks awesome and spacey.

The bar ladies are awesome, friendly, kind and very respectful towards patrons and visitors.

The meal was good to eat, we had a Popcorn Chicken for a child, Chicken schnitzel (no gravy with this) and a Salt and Pepper Calamari (a very small tartare that is making you buy more sauce) for adults. We had eaten the salad and decided to get gravy during our meals. We then waited well over 20 minutes for 2 x Gravy, 1 x Pepper Gravy and 1 x Aioli sauce. Which is ridiculous. I asked the lady who came over and gave us the gravy, if she could let everyone know who gets gravy it would be a minumin 15/20mins wait. She said okay but didn't look like she cared at all. That would be the only downside and unfortunately she wasn't the least sympathetic about the wait time nor was the young girl who took our order.

Our fried rice sat waiting to be served on the counter and was cold, the omelette was supposed to have gravy, but had some clear looking sour stuff on it, takeaway meals had priority over serving dine in, very disappointing .

Staff were very friendly, however we booked a table for 6.30pm on Friday night for a quick meal, which finally arrived at 8.10pm. Pretty average meal, too, and we aren't fussy eaters.
Looks like they were prioritising their take away trade on the basis that the longer they kept us waiting, the more we would drink.
Wrong.
Going to the pub next time.

Rude service and expensive smorgasbord! Normally $25 but on Mother's Day, without any warning it was$42 without any change or much change to the menu, neglecting to mention at time of booking! When mentioning my shock the staff were indifferent and unempathetic and very unwelcoming, the food normally is ok, worth what you order at $25 but $42? For fried dim sums and springs rolls plus overcooked baked Chook passed off as duck No thanks Urunga nah Ujoking!!

I've had reasonable Chinese food at the Bowling Club in years gone by, but tonight, it wasn't so good. I wasn't the only person to think so. And yet again the entrees were delivered after the main course.

My work colleagues and unfortunately showed up just prior to closing- and the staff were very accommodating. Absolutely lovely staff and great food!

A house steak took the better part of a pineapple and was very VERY average, on a quiet weekday evening. Wine list on the crying side of awful. Recommend loading up on cheap schooners before braving restaurant. Two stars because the serving staff are lovely. Cost of living crisis wrent large. It's a sad day when a bowlo steak costs so much and eats so bad. At least you're still beautiful in the rain, Urunga.

Enjoyed the most delicious Combination Chow Mein at this club, last weekend and I am still raving about the freshness, the most tender meat ever and the delicious sauce over crunchy noodles.

I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are for this place. The tucker we ordered was beautiful and the meals I seen being delivered to tables was fantastic. I suppose some people just want to whinge

Nice looking club, lovely staff and great service... Food let them down. Sweet & sour pork was worst I have ever had and the combination chow mein tasted like soy sauce!?!

A very nice club. I play the occasional bingo there. I have lunch there and the lunch is quite good. A reasonable price. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Went to East Garden Restautant for Chinese, beautiful meals, and although large not hugely so.

Dined here regularly. Food is always good and pretty consistent and served fast.

Staff are great. Friendly helpful. Dinner at bistro however, ordered share dishes entree comes no share plates, no cutlery no serviettes till we went and asked. Entree and one disk OK, however the steamed duck and mushroom dish was a major fail. Duck was sour, obviously not fresh. Dish was deducted from bill, but very sub standard service and meals. With very little care factor for the poor service or disappointing meal. There we only 3 other tables of people there so not busy. In saying all this 12 months ago everything was beautiful. Maybe Covid caused it
