Wednesday night is Parma night great value for money thick and juicy chicken schnitzels

Have been to many RSLs over the years and liked them. Don't normally head out this far north of Melbourne so was pleased to discover this place.
Watsonia was maintaining a good standard in food (I had a chicken parmigiana) and service (friendly, efficient). Prices were around the same mark you might expect at a pub. (Does help a bit if your dining companion is a member of the RSL)
Saturday afternoon was busy without being crowded. Our group of 2 had no trouble getting a table as a walk in.
Recommend it.

Great meal and friendly staff. We will certainly be back. The seniors' meals, main and dessert were like a normal sized meal, not tiny like a lot of places seem to do. A 2 course Senior's meal was $21. Excellent value. The rump steak was 'melt in your mouth,' as was the Ceylon Chicken Curry.

The only downside is the fact that at the moment, due to the North East tunnel works it is chaotic to find parking.

We really enjoyed.

Very nice menu, the gnocchi was excellent. Went back 2 days later and had a parmigiana which was also very good. A colleague had the steak and said it was one of the best cooked steaks he's had.

Tuesday night's trivia are a hoot, meals are awesome.
Had the garlic bread with cheese for entre and 300gm porterhouse steak with chips and salad.
Cold beer and cider on tap even Canadian club.
Lovely surroundings and friendly staff.

Best value meal around. Thursday night curry night for $22 included a huge plate of lamb, chicken or fish curry, rice and naan as well as a drink. (Glass of wine, schooner or soft drink).
4 of us dined here and all our meals were delicious. The service was exceptionally fast as well. Would definitely recommend.

Came here at lunchtime on a Sunday. It was quiet busy with lots of tables with group bookings. The service was good and the staff were happy and friendly. I had a chicken pama , the chips were not that great as most of them were small crunchy pieces. The pama was really good tho.

We attended a function at Watsonia RSL and found the food as expected, pretty pedestrian however the food service itself was lacking and didn't circulate very well. Some guests were even told they couldn't eat things because they were meant for people with dietary requirements despite being offered the items which was all very odd particularly considering as the event concluded many trays of the excess food were placed on a table. We were then eating the savouries alongside cake which showed poor time management considering there was a lack of food for the previous hour

I attended for Anzac Day, in memory of my father. First time here and they did it so well, truly honouring Anzac Day in respect, style and spirit. From the memorial at the front, sausage sizzle, Aussie flags on every table, a rowdy 2-up game going on upstairs. Top notch. Good to see the place was jam packed, with both young in military uniforms ( a good reminder that many sacrificed lives were so young!) And the old troopers proudly wearing medals. Such a happy crowd and great service. And I got a nice little win on the 1c pokies. ? Very much a place to go back to for another meal and to support this RSL. ?????

Plenty of close parking, childrens play area and your normal sort of pub food.
Staff are nice. Free beverage machine in pokie section and great prizes for bingo on Tuesdays at 11.00am

We were waiting in line to order our meals, watching our table as we had left our handbags there and the waiter went to take out bottle of wine !!??? Why. Just because??? I reported it to a staff member and nothing came of that, not even an apology???
Our meals were pretty average , so salty I couldn't eat it. Didn't bother complaining Won't be back there in a hurry...??

Standard clean and tidy RSL bistro set up which was renovated a couple of years ago. I found the food to be reasonably good, my thai salad quite delicious, fresh and healthy. Prices for food are average and drinks at pub prices. Good if you're after a casual dinner and drinks in the burbs or locally. They had a meat raffle on a Friday so you could walk out with a Sunday BBQ supply for $1 a ticket.
On my next visit, I enjoyed the Saturday night special of scotch fillet, which was cooked to perfection. It was raining when we left so we took advantage of the courtesy bus to get to my friend's home, which was within the 5km complimentary travel radius. So convenient and a great service. Will definitely visit again.

Upstairs function area was super spacious and bartenders were lovely. Cheap drinks but overpriced and overcooked food. I ordered a medium porterhouse steak but the meat was super tough and chewy. There are good deals for seniors.

Slow POS system so delays in ordering in the main dining area. Freezing cold downstairs (even on hot days) so definitely bring a jacket.

Very decent meals, a good variety also. Surprisingly good venue for a large group catch up.

Went for lunch and the food was delicious! Can't fault the parma! Staff were very friendly and accomodating as my group got there not long before the kitchen shut! ?

Attended a birthday function upstairs. Was a good venue. Sign in procedures were easy.

A good place for decent food here. Just the usual as you would find at an RSL or a pub. Decent staff here and customers. Haven't experienced any racism here yet, which is surprising considering the demographic. There is a large hall for hire upstairs. So if you have a Neighbourhood Watch or other community organisation that may be a nice place to meet.

Good pub food and drinks.

The best Steak Sandwich ever, and I mean ever!

Great place to meet up. Current COVID etiquette politely and efficiently enforced. Meals were great. Found some decent surprises on the menu. Christmas in July was a great hit. After lunch settled into a few bevvies and chat at the bar. Gaming allowed the usual $20 Keno pick.... a few back, but there's always next time. Love your local RSL!

First time visitor. I couldn't believe how big the place was. Lovely staff. Good to see there was a lift for upstairs access. Definitely visit again.

Went to RSL for bingo. This was the first time there for me. The staff were sooo lovely and the RSL it self was very welcoming. I also won a game. The caller was great. Will definitely be going back.
