You don't have book menus available at the bistro so you have to go up stand in line then turn your head in a different area before ordering if you remember what to get. Such an amateur embarrassing system. Print some menus to put at the tables I'm sure you can afford it given your poker machine profit every day. Also fair warning the chicken burger isn't real chicken, it's a processed patty like a giant nugget. Absolutely disgusting

Had lunch at the bistro on Friday 30-8 and ordered the battered fish and chips and the fish was inedible not cooked properly which was a gooey sticky mess under the slightly crisp outside. Not up to scratch.

We really enjoyed our meals at West's. The steak was cooked perfectly, the entrees were bigger then expected and delicious! The waiters and staff were welcoming. We will definitely be going back some time!

Best to avoid this place and any of its other clubs that it owns. Mother's Day was a complete and utter shambles with no co-ordination with the staff and eateries. They know that the day was going to be busy, yet everything was so unorganised. Management you need to take a good look at yourselves. How dare you treat people this way. Shame to you all. All you care about is grabbing money as fast and as much as you can, and the poker machines, don't even get me started on those money makers for the club. What happened to other things you could do in the club like play pool or snooker. Oh yeah I forgot, they don't have the capacity to make money like the poker machines. Management you should be disgusted with yourselves.

We spent the Afternoon there yesterday, and were less than impressed with the constant Cigarette Smoke wafting into the Bar and Lounge areas...?

Used to be the best club meal experience in the Hunter. Mexican, burger joint, Asian and a busy bistro where you could see the food in front of you, and see your plate piled high as you chose what you wanted. Since COVID has just become another beige pub meal.....colourless, no fun atmosphere and a 20-30% increase in prices of course. Good, but nothing like it was.

Went here for lunch with a couple of old friends. The decor was lovely and the changes that have been made since I was last there look wonderful. The only problem I had was I ordered a small pork roast and it looked very appetizing but the meal seemed to have been in a microwave or where they dished it up, portions of the meal was cold, not warm and hot in others. I am a long time member and would hate for the club to get a bad reputation. Good meals and entertainment bring people to a club and keep them coming back. If that is not the case then they go elsewhere.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the club, and I must give massive thanks to Tom behind the bar who served me quickly and efficiently and with a smile!

Unfortunately, I had a slightly less enjoyable experience with Aaron when I ordered my next drink, he seemed aggravated that I was bothering him and I got a vibe that he didn't want to be there.

I'm looking forward to coming again soon!

Came here for a little catch up with some friends and the bistro area was massive. The menu is extensive and had heaps of options. I ordered Caesar salad with grilled chicken and the portion was generous. I found it to be a bit too saucey and a lot of meat in it so maybe a little too "meaty" for a salad, I probably should have ordered it without the additional grilled chicken. Service was great and this place has nice decorations and great services so I would return :)

Don't bother going there the Management and staff are rude and arrogant, from the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel uncomfortable, the heaters are on full ball even though it is twenty-nine degrees outside. and the poker machines are the worst paying machines in Newcastle if not the whole state.

Had dinner with family at the Bistro. Ordered their "Classic" rissoles with peas/mash and onion gravy.
This was absolutely awful for their standards!! The gravy was the worst part, like eating worchestershire sauce mixed with onions, actually the odd supermarket Gravox is much nicer!!
Rissoles were the same used in another pasta dish, very bland and tasted of more fillers instead of actual mince meat.
Mash tasted like it was out of a packet mix. Almost spewed!!
We have had same at other venues and all i can suggest is the chefs should take pride at what they dish out!!!!!

We had dinner in the bistro part. We ordered 4x snitty and chips, and a prawn salad. We waited almost 50 minutes for our meals to be ready and when we finally got them, the snittys were very overcooked and dry and the prawn salad was just mixed lettuce and prawns with no sauce.

It was overpriced for the quality of what it was.

Tables remained dirty and covered in empty (and partially empty) plates for far too long. Having previously worked in hospitality both as a head Chef, and in front of house, seeing so many staff members on shift, I feel this could have been managed better.

I went to west tonight for the first time in ten years, I'd had two drinks and was escorted out because one of my drinks spilt, I've never been so humiliated and regret my decision to visit this establishment. Only visit this place if you are willing to aimlessly throw money into the pokies. None of the smashed pokies slappers looked to be at any risk of being thrown out.

Had a family lunch here to celebrate several birthdays. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was great. The playground was a major hit with my grand niece. She loved it.

Came here on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend, he ordered a burger and I ordered steak and asked for it to be rare. It came out well done ? it tasted good so I didn't send it back. I'm not a chef but I think I would know how long to cook a steak for it to be rare. My boyfriend also said his burger was cold. However, very nice staff, and a good establishment. The food was good despite that small disappointment.

Overall the club was fantastic however I ate at the small food outlet on the lower floor (unsure of the name) and ordered the cheeseburger spring rolls. What a mistake that was ?. Tasted like wet flour and gave me the squirts the next day. Get that off the menu immediately as it's about the most rancid thing I've ever encountered

The steak restaurant $99 share plate should really be for the people. Great value and the glass view of the steak cooking is mouth watering.

Went to lizzotes for a dinner show, had a great night then walked down to West's for a couple of drinks before I caught the cab home only to be turned away for being to intoxicated. The 2 people next to me were let in after stumbling up the stairs where I was denied entry after being honest letting them know I had had several beverages but felt fine. I will not be attending or signing up to this club, will just continue supporting my local RSL's

We had lunch here on the go! The burger and salad were ok however the lamb meal had a strange taste and I could not eat it at all! The chicken was dry too. Price wise it was ok too. We paid $18 per plate. Parking is available opposite the road and plenty of parking spots available .

Disappointed with our main meal, but cheered ourselves up with dessert! We ordered T-bone steaks, but the order was put through in a stupid way. Having Coeliac Disease, which requires a strictly gluten free meal, the steak meals should have been entered separately. My steak was placed on top of the chips which was my husband's order. Unable to swap the steaks due to cross contamination, I had to eat a well done steak, while my husband struggled with medium rare! The steak seemed poor quality too. Very disappointing!

We were last here a year ago, before the Bistro / Carvery revamp. Why did you change it? All I craved tonight was a roast beef or lamb with vegetables and gravy. All there was was pork. According to the menu on the wall that's the only roast they have. So now West New Lambton is the same as West Newcastle: one tiny counter, only a couple staff and dramatically less menu. I ordered fish and chips with salad for $18. Price and portion okay. Sadly, the New Lambton carvery from the 1990s had better range. Disappointed. Why did I renew my membership? Back to the cafes in town I guess... ?

Plenty to eat drink and gamble. We attended the asian restaurant Emerald Gardens that is located in the club. The food was excellent. It is one of the best clubs in Newcastle.

Had a good time. Food was OK. Place is clean and staff friendly. Shame the bistro seemed to underestimate the crowd that you are going to get for fathers day and were under staffed. 1/2 hr wait just to place order would have been quicker if they had a 2nd person serving.

We went to the bistro for the first time since it has changed. Absolutely love the new dining experience. There were a few things on the menu I wanted to try but I couldn't pass up the salmon cakes (patties) and it wasn't a let down. Nice and fresh salad with peaches and mulberries I believe and fetta. The salmon cakes were flavoursome. Had such a good time and we will definitely return again soon.

Went to West New Lambton Bistro for dinner tonight. My partner said his pizza was great but my Creaser Salad was average with far to much dressing, and left over peace's of lettuce core in my salad.

Signature share platter - delish! Steak cooked beautifully, as was all of the meat. Nice way to celebrate our Anniversary. Chophouse grill, food and staff, highly recommend!

Club food is just club food. This was good club food. Better than previous food court. Reasonable prices.

Quiet. Had a tasty Rebel with a Cause burger from the bistro. Nice decaf cap from the Cafe. Enjoyable visit. Tight with covid restrictions which is good.

Had an amazing Asian meal and my friends had the pork roast. All were large meals and very nice.

Went to eat at the Emerald Gardens.The food and service was fantastic.Great options for vegans with a range of mock meats.The Sweet and Sour Mock Pork and the Mongolian Mock Chicken were great.Extensive beverage and cocktail list also.Definitely recommend eating dinner here.

just so expensive even for a member with 10% off,can't get any mashed potato.,Told serving lady no chips and she gave us chips,Didn't want salad ,wanted to swap salad for vegetables cost an extra $4 each,even though you we were not getting any chips or mashed potato or salad !! Meals supposed to come with gravy,one did and one didn't.The salad on one plate was mostly carrot and the vegetables on the other plate was such a tiny amount,maybe 3 or 4 tiny pieces.Used to be good but none of us in any hurry to go back,plenty of other clubs around rather than this disappointing place..sorry

Most unwelcome and disgraceful venue I have ever had the misfortune to land at. Attempted to take the family of 6 there tonight as we are on holiday in the area.Forced us to join a membership, illegally.Refused to accept ID on mobile phone, although NSW police do.Will never grace this door step again for them to make up for it. Lost our business for life.Good riddance.Maryland Tavern is cheaper, better food, welcoming staff. Immediately apologised when they ran out of meat for one of the items we ordered and upgraded the meal for free. Found my new go-to when Im in town.
