I hope you like Taylor Swift, because if there are hen's parties on that's what you're going to hear, because "they really like them". Not very retro, but I guess me and my $50 for 2 people can go f myself. Newsflash: I would have (and had) been a repeat customer, the hen's parties won't be, but I won't be paying $25 per person again for RnB, Taylor and One Direction, when I can go somewhere else (for free, mind you) where they'll actually play what's advertised. Left early to go elsewhere, because I sure as hell wasn't going to invite my friends to this. Yikes.
Edit to add: the only reason I even left this review is because of the attitude we got when leaving. I wanted to give my feedback on hearing so many contemporary, very non-retro songs, and the person at the desk was visibly annoyed that I didn't like hearing Taylor Swift at a retro club? It was very much a, well, they like it, so bad luck to you. But I'm a patron too? I paid to be there as well. Making us feel like we mattered too would have been nice, just being heard, letting us know they'd pass the feedback on? But it just went from combative (?) to dismissive. I mean, we were there for a special occasion too, we were there for a birthday and ended up relocating our entire party (before they all got there, luckily) because $25 per person is a bit steep to not hear the music you've paid to hear. I don't think that's unreasonable? I mean, if you've got functions on maybe close it off to the public for the night? Let people know on Facebook or in person that the music will be slightly different that night due to private functions? So many ways to have handled this better.
Oh, and it's not like the retro music didn't go over. The entire room was singing along at the top of their lungs to 80's classics, and then for some reason it just devolved into mainstream club music that we didn't come to club retro for. I'm not even annoyed at the DJ, I'm annoyed at the lack of communication by the venue, and the lack of care for their regular patrons. It's not hard to make everyone feel valued, but I very much got a "bums on seats" vibe from this place, and it was just kinda gross.
