I am a local resident in Bright. I came to 'Tigre Vita', the upstairs restaurant at the Alpine Hotel, for dinner with my husband and three friends. From the minute we walked in we attended to immediately. The food, and service was impeccable! The food was served timely, and no request was a bother. We had one slight complaint (not even worth mentioning on a review) which was more than rectified on our departure. Would highly recommend coming here, especially for a 'special occasion'. We cannot wait to come back again! Thanks guys.

Staying here was a mistake from the start. Our initial interaction with the young man at the front bar was terrible; he was rude and overcharged us $160 for a room that should have been no more than $140 according to their website. Despite there being plenty of available rooms, he placed us in one right by the busy road. The room initially seemed acceptable with a new bathroom, but the shower head leaked everywhere except where it should, an issue mentioned in a previous review. The noise from the road and the light streaming through the blinds made for a very uncomfortable and sleepless night. The bed was mediocre, and the shower experience was frustrating. When we called to express our dissatisfaction to avoid writing a review, the response was dismissive and indifferent.

Reception was friendly enough. Orders were done at the bar for food and drink, so very much pub fare. For starters had buffalo wings (quite sour chili sauce like siracha) and pork belly (not great, fatty, and skin not crispy), followed by prawns and salmon dishes for mains. Both sauces for the prawn and salmon dishes tasted alike and lacked flavour, and the salmon was dry as it was overcooked. Suspect it was because all 4 meal orders were cooked and ready to be served at same time when the main should have been delayed. (Our waiter said this as much as told us mains would be recooked but we think it just sat under the lamps on the pass - hence fish was dried out). Wine and beer options were basic.

I had the best curry dinner yesterday
It was the goat korma curry so well done and full of flavour. I ate the whole meal and swept the dish with my bread. Thanks so much for your service and your hospitality.

Our group of 7 dined at Tigre Vita last Thursday night.
Drink each on arrival, great.
Good selection of varied mains that all were enjoyed, entrees and desserts delicious.
Nice selection of wines.
Service was really good, considering they were under the pump with a full sitting. Our invited five guests left impressed and satisfied. Well done!

We had dinner in the up-market restaurant upstairs last weekend. It is a lovely location and menu pretty varied. However, portions were meagre and the choice of starters small. I had a salad with ricotta, and it was underwhelming to say the least. The rest of the food was OK but nothing special. My main problem was with the Maitre De who certainly had not benefited from attending a hospitality school or course. He was very abrupt, and rude and condescending and spent most of his time looking at his iPad and ignoring customers. We waited for half an hour for our starter plates to be removed from the table. I would like to commend the rest of the staff though; all of the girls were delightful and very helpful. I don't think I would bother going back.

Thanks guys.
We were a large party and we were very well looked after during our dinner. Staff showed interest in us and did the best they could to make our meal enjoyable. Very happy
My family and I came here one night while staying in Bright without a reservation and we managed to get a table. Our waitress was so lovely and really made us feel welcome. The food was great, their parmas are pretty huge which is how I personally prefer them to be. Good selection of drinks too and their cocktails were divine!

We've been twice, once for dinner and just the other day for lunch and can't begin to say how pleased we are with the food, service, decor, the whole experience is 5 star. The best restaurant in Bright, Tiegre Vitae! Can't wait for the spring menu. Although there is more to try on the winter offerings.
For a fine dining experience you just can't do any better in the NE of Victoria!
Well done and thank you.

Very central location. Rooms and bathrooms are renovated and very clean. Good value for money.
There's small fridge and kettle for tea/instant coffee. Nothing else so be prepared to eat somewhere else, even for breakfast. Price is unbeatable so it's definitely worth staying here when you're in Bright for a short stay.

We had a great pub dinner at the Alpine on a busy Friday evening in the July school holidays. 2 x Salmon, one fish and chips and one roast lamb dinner. All were delicious. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. Our two teenagers then went to the bar room for a game of pool. A great night!

We have dined at Tigre Vita twice and enjoyed nothing but wonderful food and great service. An alternate meal was even supplied for the junior member of our party.
We are looking forward to the next excuse to dine there.

No option for zero stars. Booked a table in the restaurant for dinner online. Upon arrival we were told the restaurant is closed on Thursday and we had to sit in the bar area. Despite our confirmation stating the restaurant. Staff behind the counter were totally unhelpful and disinterested. It was almost like we were an inconvenience to them. The atmosphere in the bar was awful and not welcoming at all. Considering the Bright township relies heavily on seasonal tourists this place is a huge thumbs down. Whoever is running this place would do well to invest in training the staff here in hospitality as they seemed confused with its meaning. We did leave and enjoyed a lovely meal at the brewery down the road.

Absolutely poor service. Lady who was serving us had no interest in listening us and taking orders. She was rude, had no smile on her face and was giving us attitude as if she was paying us to eat at the restaurant.

We had to order 3 times to clean the table, 3 times for shared plates and tissues. When we asked a question she had no interest in talking or replying.

We used to visit this place every time we came to Bright. Not going to come back here ever again. Management should improve their service.

Do yourself a favour this is a great place to dine. Chris and the staff were excellent, very welcoming and the food is delicious. The list of local wines is commendable with a very affordable selection.
As a resident of Bright it's great to finally have a local restaurant that really delivers. Thanks team.

Tigre Vita restaurant. My family and I dined in the restaurant this weekend and we very much enjoyed our evening. The setting is stunning, no expense has been spared with the renovation. The food was fresh, prepared well and delicious. Many thanks to the amazing staff who are very welcoming and attentive. It was the highlight of our visit to Bright. We can't wait to visit again.

We arrived in Bright and booked our table on line, very easy to do.
The service was excellent I ordered roast of the day .. Beautiful, Hubby had a steak cooked to his liking. Over all the meal was great and the atmosphere friendly. Thank you

On a very busy weekend, our group of 21 had an excellent meal. The staff were excellent, I have no hesitation in giving the Restaurant a great review. Many Thanks. Jenni

Lunch here on a Saturday with the missus and boys. Nice pub feel to the place, fairly busy, after ordering our lunches I think we waited over 1/2 an hour for our food, bit to long in my opinion. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. 3 stars out of 5 I think

Lovely hotel in the centre of town. The tilers are to be commended for their excellent tiling of the bathroom. There are a few issues that could be sorted out but the rooms are spotlessly clean and the bathroom was beautiful. There are alot of stairs which was no problem for us. The restaurant was closed over Christmas and New Year. People need to remember that it has been really hard to get staff and that the ones that they have need a break too!

Great location in the town centre. Steep climb up stairs to the upper units, which would be most difficult for mobility challenged especially with luggage. No lift that we could find. The bed was low and old- being able to feel the springs poking in all night. Bright light from outdoor corridor. Otherwise room was clean and the balcony was an added bonus.

I have checked my bank account after a dispute on overcharging.
I was charged for 3 bottles of wine when I had 2.This is the second time this has happened to our group. We stay with you every year but will be looking for alternatives next year, there was 20 of us and all stayed in the Motel and ate and drank at the Hotel. We waited more than half an hour to check inn and your service was very average. Food was good but staff very poor

We booked dinner for ourselves and friends. Unfortunately our meals were of poor quality to the point we wouldn't go there again. The steaks were very thin, and small ( like you'd get on a average old milk bar steak sandwich) . But we all thought the staff were very good indeed.
Someone needs to talk to whoever is running the kitchen and buying the meat at present.

My husband and I went for dinner and both ordered the chicken parmigiana. The food was dreadful.... chicken can tell it had been heated up in microwave.... couldn't eat more than three bites. The chips were also dry and tasteless. Only good thing on my plate was the side salad. Worst Parma ever. Not expecting perfection but has to be eatable at least.

If I could give them 0 stars I would as I was disgusted with my stay and meal at the restaurant part. (Note if you have allergies I would suggest not eating there either as their false advertising of gluten free meals on their menu caused my son to break out in a rash)
We stayed on Saturday night and after asking if they could try to put our rooms closer they set us in rooms opposite ends of the hotel, one upstairs and one downstairs but completely opposite ends. I stayed in room 11 and can just say I was disgusted. There was hair left in the bathroom on the floor, there was a dirty half filled bin hidden in the room cupboard. The bedside table was sticky and dirty. I stayed in the room with my 14 month old son who has dust mite allergies and can just say after having to fish a shoe out from under the bed the rooms had clearly not been cleaned properly at all. Under the bed was a lot of dust, a syringe (no needle thank god) and an plastic bottle. When we woke up Sunday morning I noticed the complimentary biscuits had been snacked on during the night by a mouse or something ?
Saturday night we had dinner in the restaurant part and again we were so disappointed. We were not given menus except for kids ones and when we sat down. Our 14 month old was given a sticky high chair to sit in too.
Upon ordering I said we will be ordering all gluten free options for the baby as he has a wheat allergy so that's what we did but when the food came out and bub started to eat the bread his face started to break out in a rash as it does when he reacts to wheat. Thankfully it's not very sever and bub was grumpy/itchy while we ate and monitored him (after our meal he was given his medication and thankfully the rash disappeared quickly)
We asked the waitress to confirm if the bread was in fact gluten free but she didn't even go check just said it would be if that's what we ordered (they had a set Christmas in July menu that most of it was gluten free but clearly not if he's reacting to the bread.) We were also charged full price for a child's meal and they tried to put glass plates and bowls on the highchair tray with the baby.
We definitely will not be staying there again nor eating there ever.

We came here two years ago for a late night dinner on Christmas Day. They were the only venue available, which saved us from starving. They only served pizzas which pretty nice. Classic pub feel, family friendly and big beer garden

Food was beautiful and well presented and well priced. They were operating on minimal staff and still provided great service with a smile! Thank you!

Central location and next to a pub that played loud music until midnight. Couldn't sleep until late both the night we stayed here. Basic amenities were not given with room like tissue box, iron etc.
If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday my advice is stay somewhere else.

A group of us stayed here in multiple rooms. Didn't hear any complaints. Our room was clean, tidy and fresh. Husband and I slept well, comfy bed and not much road noise. We all had drinks in the bar, but due to being understaffed (a handwriting sign that greeted us as we checked in), the manager seemed a little stressed. He was receptionist and behind the bar. Fire was on - wonderful! We ate elsewhere, but the menu looked good (typical pub food), and prices good. Will be back.

Great place to lodge. Bathroom facilities superb. Manager seemed stressed by big demands for hotel stays.
Michelle Bell
We stayed here for 2 nights. Friendly staff, the room was clean and a good size, comfy bed, the water pressure in the shower was great. The food in the pub was excellent. Location was great, right in the centre of Bright. Shops right outside the door. Would definitely stay here again.
