Aurora Rooftop Hotel

Terrible experience here! The service from start to finish was shocking - particularly the blonde girl behind the bar was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. Our food took 1.5hrs for fish and chips! When the manager promised a refund, he wouldn't give it to us in the moment until we pushed for it as he was trying to pass us off to hopefully forget chasing our refund. We had to push in order to get refunded then and there!
This place had the opportunity to make a lot of money from a group of 10 of us but instead left us leaving annoyed and hungry, causing us to end our night then and there because it left such a sour taste in our mouths. Save your time and money by going somewhere else!!

If I could give zero stars, I would have. Never in my entire life I have been so incredibly mistreated by staff. I had my birthday dinner here (food that never came) and as soon as I ordered, I was denied drinks, my best friend sat down at the table to immediately get removed from the pub without any reason. Then a group of 25 people ordered food and apparently the system went down and the orders were missing. After 1 hour of asking where the food was, the staff said they'd check and they clearly didn't or they'd of known the system went down. The few that remained at the pub among many other angry people were offered refunds but "they had no idea when the food would come". The female blonde waitress was telling me and my friends to calm down after an hour of denying us drinks and help to get food. She was extremely rude and it quite literally ruined my entire birthday dinner. NEVER EVER GO HERE!

Happy hour schooners upstairs on a Thursday night...tick. Tasty cheese burgers with bacon afterwards...double tick! Generally just a really nice chilled place to go after work for dinner and a beer or three. Staff also are very friendly and helpful...well played Aurora. We'll be back for more.

Such a convenient location. A couple of minutes walk from Central Station and you can be sitting at this rooftop bar. Such a comfortable, clean and welcoming environment. Flat screen TV available for some sport and a good array of tap beer, wine and cocktails. You can also order food up here from the bistro downstairs.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and although the weather was not fantastic, I could imagine sitting up here on a summers evening.
Special mention again to just how clean the place was, including the bathrooms.

Our go to place after Uni Classes! Rooftop Bar is the best with Happy Hour Rates! The only thing I don't understand is why we can't eat or order food n the balcony/smoking area. ❤️ Food is great! We'll definitely come back.

Rump steak was surprisingly good! Chips were on point. Sauce was great. Impressed!

Pleasant enough bar, however smoking is unlawfully permitted/ encouraged upstairs in close proximity to doors on the veranda, resulting in cigarette smoke within the inside area.

We had group of about 16 for lunch. Due to flooding and train issues one couple were a little late. When they went to order food atv3pm they were told last orders were at 3pm. It was 3pm. And everyone else had ordered lunch.
Then later on the day because we stated dancing to DJ it was like they decided we were drunk. Strangely going to bar they would still serve us one drink. Then decided to kick us all out.
We have been there many times in the past. But this time young bar maid probably thought we were too old to be there and made call to kick us all out.
We will never return. Between the lit of us we would have spent easily close to $3,000. In future will take our business elsewhere.

This place was appalling. We had a booking for 10 x people at the Rooftop Bar on Saturday, Feb 10 from 7pm. 2 x guests were being hassled by the security upon entry coz they've had too much to drink. Our night had not even begun yet. I'm glad they were finally let in. We then spent so much money on food and drinks for our booking, only to be kicked out by 10:45pm as the bar and rooftop was closing??? It was Saturday night, in the city, during a major event of Lunar New Year??? We then head down to the tab area on ground level, and we were not allowed any more drinks, as the bar staff said "we have had too much"???. We were then asked to leave the venue coz we were finishing our drinks we brought down, from the rooftop??? This venue says closing at 5am or 6am????? Rooftop venue was not accessible after they kicked us out to close the bar. We were there for less than 4 hours , eating and drinking and chatting and their service and stereotype to people was disgusting!!!! The venue opening and closing time was all false advertising!! We are responsible mid 40s adults who had a get together for our High School teacher's (in his late 60s) bday. This venue was recommended to us because of accessibility to Central Station. Worst choice ever!! Worst night ever!! Very very disappointing. Ruined a wonderful event!!

Very disappointed. My 2 friends and I went to this establishment tonight to have a drink on the way home from dinner. The security guard was completely unreasonable and would not allow us entry stating the reason was we had too much to drink. Funny excuse considering we each only had 1. I believe it had more to do with the fact he didn't like the clothes my friend wore. I would definitely give this place a miss. Get a new security guard. He is driving away business.
