Bar Mexico

We had such an amazing experience at Bar Mexico. The owners were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. They made us feel like we were back in Latin America - the music, the atmosphere, the people, and especially the delicious food.

We tried the birria quesadillas and birria tacos, both with incredibly delicious tortillas, and the fajitas were absolutely amazing. The cocktails were also outstanding - perfect in both flavour and alcohol balance.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back with our friends and enjoy another fantastic night. Highly recommend!

My fiance got a recommendation to go here under the advice that you can\'t choose a bad item on the menu.

I have to say they were right! We tried a few things to be sure the birria quesadillas, tacos, Jalapeno poppers, chicken tacos, churros. And the drinks are incredible too the cocktails are great there\'s Mexican beer and mini cervesa shots. (They are a must try)

We walked in and even though most the tables were booked out they found us a table all while keeping great conversation. The owners were around too, checking in on us talking about their restaurant experience and a few stories about the place, they have the most incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, they gave us recommendations on food and drinks when we asked. I even know what I am getting on my next visit (this is a place you will want to visit more than once)

The atmosphere is great too from the patrons to the decors and the interior is intimately spacious, you can see the bar along one side for orders and you can see part of the kitchen too which is amazing because I personally love cooking.

Incredible experience from the moment we enter to the moment we left

Bar Mexico is such a vibe! Big open space, buzzing music, and the service is honestly next level. Shoutout to Dan and Louie - absolute legends who made us feel so welcome and looked after all night.

The food? Jalapeño poppers full of melty cheese, the best quesadilla we've ever had, and tacos that are proper authentic. Thursday nights are insane too - $5 tacos and $10 margaritas, the perfect excuse for a full-on fiesta with mates.

Can't recommend this place enough - we'll definitely be back!

Bar Mexico was great fun for our large group.
The food was delicious, the selection of drinks had Aussie stuff and some Mexican style specialities.
Pool tables down the back, decent toilets, a mezzanine for the elite and outdoor chilling area for people watching.
Bar Mexico is far enough up High Street to not feel too grimy like many other local spots.

We dove into the taco feast - build - your-own style - stacked with pulled beef and marinated chicken, loaded with all the good stuff.
And that birria quesadilla Mexican pizza? Oozy cheese, slow-cooked beef and rich dipping sauce.
Service was average.
Good food.
