Barr'd Tapas Bar, Ivanhoe East VIC

I have been here quite a few times now, and the food has never disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely and cosy, while still having a good amount of tables, and the toilets are always clean. My biggest recommendations would be the chilli garlic prawns, steak with mushroom sauce, meatballs with crusty bread, lamb chops, any of the tacos, and the burgers here are truly signature. Everything is fresh and the staff are incredible. The chicken bites are also amazing, however I like to/ would recommend you to get them with a side of aioli, which really helps make them perfect. All in all, a great place to choose for dinner in the Ivanhoe area. Great prices and good servings. 5/5

Hidden away in Ivanhoe village is a great little Tapas Bar, serving fabulous food and drink. Found on an internet search we decided to give it a go and were pleasantly impressed!

Our party of five ordered the sharing board of dips, bread, cheese and olives with a side serve of potato bravas. Board was ample and the potatos were nice. Our mains were hamburgers, pork belly tacos and fried chicken. Burgers were the star of the evening, each serving was good size and the meat Patties were well cooked and perfectly seasoned. The pork belly tacos were nice even though the pork was a little dry and chewy. The fried chicken was delicious but didn't come with any other side or condiment. The serving size for its price was a little underwhelming. We ordered an extra bowl of fries to supplement.
Our table also ordered a carafe of sangria which was delicious and refreshing.
The staff were very friendly, polite and efficient. Thank you Barr'd we enjoyed our time and hope to visit again.

The food was exceptional, the service delightful, and it's the finest establishment we've visited in Ivanhoe to date. The owner even came over to see how we were doing as it was our first time here. Could not recommend highly enough. A good menu selection so will give us a chance to come back many times for new things. Everything we had was exquisite. Alcohol was also great.

When you are looking for a late lunch / early dinner and all the other cafe's have closed, this is a sure bet. I had their signature burger with onion rings, and the wife had lamb cutlets. Both were delicious - although the cutlets would have been better if they had been Frenched (fat removed).

Update: Returned on 27 April and had a tasty trio of dips and a carafe of sangria while we waited for a mixed paella. The paella was tasty, but had no crust.
