Bayside Hotel - Pub Near Me in TAS

It's alright but a bit old and feels dusty. Good for short stay (we stayed 2 nights but I wouldn't stay longer).
Walls are very thin and I could hear the tv, shower in the morning and people talking in the next room.

Rooms are a bit dated but bed was super comfy. Was a good choice for our midway point on our travels. Staff are friendly and helpful. Had a great chicken schnitzel meal in the bistro- good aussie pub style.

We had an overnight stay at the aging hotel and found the renovated room with bathroom above the pub satisfactory. The hotel was centrally located in St Helens on a main street close to many shops and close to a foreshore park, (this was an outstanding feature). The bed was comfortable, the room size was larger than expected, the lift meant luggage was easy to get upstairs, and we were not disturbed by any noise from the busy pub below. The staff were helpful. Unfortunately the door look on the veranda was missing, with a door hook screwed in its place to provide security, there was no onsite parking space for our vehicle (we used a public outdoor carpark) on the opposite side of the road, and we found differences between the pub's meal advertising and what was actually available (such as regular nightly specials no longer available). Ringing the hotel may provide cheaper accommodation rates than using a travel websites.

We had a lovely night sleep, dark and quiet room. The beds are medium soft and comfy. The shower water pressure, hot water, toiletries and towel are clean and very good.

After a bad meal previously (ordered a well done steak, which when served was still very rare and blood on the plate) we thought we'd give another chance, as we know sometimes is a bad time. But, I thought I'll try a pizza. It was called the bayside special. There was nothing special at all. Barely cooked and absolutely no flavour at all.
Normally I would've recommended here for meals as in the past we have had great meals, but seems to have gone downhill. Will go back if things change. Other than a disappointing meal, service etc is great. Meals sadly are not.
