We are here for 4nites. Disappointed with the service, we approached the counter to make room twice, but was not done.

This motel is as advertised. Clean, functional room close to the beach - perfect for a morning walk. An amazing number of well positioned power sockets in the room was an unexpected surprise. Reception closes quite early so no contact there.
Did not use the adjacent pub.

Clean room with waterfront views but small bed. Ample Parking in front of room. Bonus having laundry facilities on-site. Just as well we brought our own clothes airer. Delicious food at Restaurant next door - quick & punctual. Couple of minor downfalls - was no room service during our stay. We ran out of toilet tissue and had to buy our own. There was damage to wall beside main bed on window side. Small shower head. No towel rails in bathroom to hang used towels. And rail with new, clean towels in bathroom too high for short people - not able to access

We weren't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Room was clean, all the basics were available (including a small fridge, kettle, and iron). We appreciated the modern decor touches and large smart TV. Swift checking / checkout. Would recommend for a short stay!

Mid range value in a perfect location. Clean rooms, good shower pressure with all the extras you would expect.
This visit we were lucky enough to be put in an upstairs room. Not sure I would particularly like one of the back rooms but the nearby pool area is lovely. Beautiful outlook in a beautiful part of the state.

Small but cozy room. Clean, comfy bed and pillows, Quiet aircon, simple but good size shower, very small module for making tea,No microwave. No real complaints as we are out the whole day and only come back for shower and sleep.

Huge king sized bed that was so comfortable. Lovely clean bathroom, spacious clean room, large bar fridge and Michelle welcomed us so warmly.
We could hear the "doof doof" noise from the Hotel but after 10pm it was gone.
Close to all amenities.

Very pleasantly surprised! Used this as a base to visit Freycinet Peninsula and really pleased we did. The room was simply decorated but very comfortable. We had a sea view room which I highly recommend. Staff were loved and great location.

Their room looks fancy (usb plug-in power point)?but not like a useful motel (no microwave).
Noisy air conditioner, noisy toilet, noisy fridge, couldn't sleep well?

Browsed the reviews and would like to highlight that there are three different rooms!
Poolside linkage houses, they are outdated (some people's reviews).

Great sea view rooms, they are the row linked with the pub!

Classic Standard rooms (where we were), the row behind the seaview rooms and next to the pool side houses. The pool is only for poolside houses (which was a surprise to me).

Pretty good experience for our large group overall with terrific highs and other mediocre aspects:

HIGH: - Breakfast and staff for breakfast at the room near reception - fantastic in every way!
- Beds are very comfortable and the plumbing/shower work a treat.
- Meals in the pub are generally quite acceptable and enjoyable.

MEDIOCRE: - Meals in the pub are generally quite acceptable and enjoyable, however the smokers on the balcony leave the door open ALL OF THE TIME meaning they generously share their swill with those dining. This is to the detriment of the hotel as many of our group just went to our rooms early to get away from the smoke. The hotel obviously loses ongoing food/bar sales because of this!!
- The excessive noise in the eating area of the pub is terrible making conversation for all a real difficulty.
- The rooms with 2 beds really require a small table and just 2 chairs as there is nowhere to sit down apart from the toilet. I know there is not a huge amount of room, but have seen similar rooms around Australia with a small table/chairs.

SUGGESTIONS: - Look at enlisting the services of some automatic electric door installers to sort out where the smokers are.
- Look at enlisting the help of some architectural acoustic specialists to hopefully inexpensively tame the noise in the pub dining area.
- Look at some small table chair options for some of the rooms.

Good Pub Food and Service!
Visited over the June long weekend. The place was packed with locals and visitors. Standard pub fare, I had fish and chips which was very nice and decent portion. Staff were friendly and efficient, and meals came quickly after ordering. The usual pub set up, dining area, bar, keno and pool areas.

It was actually such a great place for the price we paid $100 for the night. Has a heater and great large beds and good bathroom and showers with great pressure. Smells lovely and loads of parking. Only thing wa sit wa adjust so confusing to find. We came there past the check in time which was great that they had that option to store our keys in a locker. But finding the reception was tough if you put it on google maps it just takes you to the bar but the property is actually in another street next to the first beachfront Bicheno sign. Anyway took us a long time to find the place cos it was dark but once we did it was good. It's got teas coffee milk and a kettle and fridge.

Room was adequate, clean and tidy even tho a bit dated. Shower over bath so would have been nice to have a shower mat but used a towel to be safe. Family in other room had the bathroom door handles fall off. Bistro first night was ok. Second night two of us ordered steak... ended up being an $80 mistake. I have never had a worse steak in my life. Instead of medium rare it was raw and cold in the middle and tougher than gravy beef. Was definitely NOT a rump steak. Schnitzel was nice flavour, tender, etc but was actually a crumbed chicken breast. A schnitty needs to be pounded out to be thin.... That's what makes it a schnitzel!

Decent motel. Comfortable beds, good price if with others (my room had space for four people, but I was solo). The rooms are slightly different to the photos in terms of decor. My room was much more basic, but still had everything I needed. Fun pub next to it to sit at the bar and chat to the locals

We arrived early, as rooms are ready at 2pm
So badly needed a toilet, Sophie the receptionist was not 1 bit helpful.
The bathroom was old, and the room also.
You couldn't open the sliding door to the pool area, the fly screen was filthy. Didn't want to even touch the curtains

Stayed for 2 nights in one of the front rooms. Parked outside the door at the back with lovely balcony & view to the beach at the front. Also a row of rooms along the back but they wouldn't have a view. Great room, big comfortable bed, terrific bathroom. Happy to return any time.

Booked a room and dinner reservation. After doing this I decided to look at some reviews. Reading the negative reviews I thought, "oh dear, maybe we should have went elsewhere". Took a chance, and goodness me, I'm glad we did. Room was immaculate, beds so comfortable, food was amazing. Service 10 out of 10. Well done to the cleaning staff and bistro staff.

When I pay good money for a meal I expect good quality food. And this was not. Steaks came out underdone and when sent back to the kitchen they came back tasting badly of charcoal. We didn't bother touching them after that. Kids wouldn't eat there chicken bites and chips and I don't blame them after I tried the chicken, dried out and hard as a rock. I will add the service from the waitresses was fantastic they did a great job but what a let down the food was. Wouldn't recommend eating here if your staying in town, plenty of better quality food once you have a look around.

Arrived late on New Years Eve, but was very refreshing to settle into our clean room with wonderful views, before eating here too.
Appreciated the friendly staff and also how they had a guy playing guitar covers for New Years Eve celebrations. Could have had a dozen more Scolops... Omg they were so so good ??'?thanks for a great night and stay.

Stayed one night for family holiday. Nice, clean modern facilities. Room had fresh linen and split A/C. Car park immediately outside room. Great access to beach and local shops within walking distance. Recommend it.

Regarding the bistro/restaurant.

Most of the staff are friendly, but others condescending and vaguely rude.

The food... literally the worst meal I've ever paid for! I was genuinely worried for my health after eating what I did.

We gave up and walked out shortly after it arrived.

We definitely did not receive a 3 star room. The room was spartan and had no soft furnishings and the pool could not be seen from the room or the outside terrace. The bathroom tiles had mould and the shower curtain over the bath was old, as was the curtain in the room. The most alarming fact was that the heated pool was dirty and only half full and the safety gate did not close. In fact,, they had placed a wooden table against the gate despite telling us we could swim in it. The cyclone fence next to our room was unattached so any child could wander into the grounds and drown. We left due to the unsatisfactory room, unusable pool and safety concerns. So upsetting to see an unsafe pool in 2022. When we told the receptionist we were leaving she asked us why we didn't ask for an upgrade. Why was this put back onto us? Why weren't we given a decent, acceptable room?

A group of friends and I stayed in Bechino for the night. We didn't know really what to expect. Out of options we went to the Bistro. It was a pretty standard country crowd. We were hoping for pub style food but it was mostly mushy salads, tonnes of chips with everything and a really strange tasting meat patty on the burger. The staff were nice and it was very efficient service; just average food.

Room is spacious for 4 adults and the amenities are generally clean. However, the kitchenette is just like any other hotels, with just a fridge and a boiler. There were no additional utensils or microwave.

Had a lovely meal. Beef cheeks were wonderful. Spot on! I had the black Angus steak served with vegetables and it was very tasty. Publoaf was great. Quick and friendly service.

After hearing pub meals in town were pretty average, we were very pleasantly surprised! Our meals were delicious and even on a busy night, the friendly service was excellent. If you're after a good pub meal, give this place a try.

We booked our room last minute as we were road tripping and made a late change to our itinerary. We were pleasantly surprised by how modern and spacious our room was since we booked one of the cheaper ones. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful, room was very clean and the attached bar/bistro was convenient and great.

We were lucky enough to arrive at the bistro for a late lunch and a guitarist was playing. He played for 3 hours and we stayed the whole time because he was fantastic. We then ended up staying on for dinner. The food was very nice - try the pizza and scallops - and the place was busy and had a great atmosphere.

Room was very quiet and we had a great stay!

Perfect Parmigiana, thanks to the chef Nick. Definitely recommend. Make sure you get one.
But the bed, wasn't as great. The view was worth it though.

Stayed down here for work and loved every bit of it, the beach was amazing. Good vibes here.

Room appears clean on the surface but has a dirty undertone to it. Earwigs and ants in the bathroom. But not to worry bug spray provided in the cupboard! Single Bed was placed with low overhead light right in the middle of the wall. I banged my head several times, this is a health and safety hazard! Look elsewhere.

We have never had such an unwelcome greeting as the one given by the dark haired lady on the reception desk when we arrived early and asked if there was any chance of getting in earlier than 2pm. Not an issue that we couldn't but the way she responded impatiently with "We just got rid of the last of yesterday's" was an indication of the way she felt about the people paying to stay there. Michelle on the other hand when we got back and checked in could not have been nicer or more helpful. Two of the three nights we stayed there were fine...clean, comfortable beds, good showers etc but the second night we were there, a noisy party that ended in a brawl and the glass pool fence being smashed right outside of our room was really scary. The management should oversee that this sort of thing cannot take place.

Note that we did not stay at the accommodation here and visited solely for the food for dinner.

Our ratings reflect the quality of the food because we thought they did quite well in terms of portion and serving for the price. The salad was not overwhelmed with dressing, chips were crispy and the meat was good.

Missed the five star mark as the steak was not medium rare as requested, rather, it was medium - table service was ok, could've been a tad better.

The general consensus between my partner and I was that we enjoyed our meal and would come here again. Plenty to choose from on the menu!
