Black Kite Commune - Bar in Melbourne Victoria

Overall I had a great experience at this lovely bar! I had the emu and beetroot carpaccio which were both delicious. Even though they're known for their cocktails I highly recommend getting some snacks while you're there. That being said the cocktails were also fantastic and refreshing. Only docking a star because one of the waitresses seemed annoyed with our table every time she came up to us. Bar manager was lovely though so I still recommend this place

Nice atmosphere, great drinks selection. Tucked away in the heart of Melb. We were sitting upstairs. Wasn't too busy when we were there. Toilet wasn't working at the time, so they suggested we use the neighbour's bar toilet. Before we left the whole bar was filled with smoke. It seemed like it was from their kitchen. Staff tried to vent it by opening windows. Not sure exactly what's going on thn but we're glad that we have already finished.

Stumbled across this little gem down Russell Place after a night at the theatre!. Great place for a snack and drinks late at night. Our waitress was friendly, understanding and helpful, willing to modify both food and cocktails to cater for our individual allergy needs. Both the food and drinks arrived in a short time. We sat outside on the little balcony and enjoyed these in the cool evening. Highly recommended! We'd definitely come back!

Cocktail bar with black furnish designed like a loft on the inside and few seatings outside. The focus both on food and drinks seems to be on local ingredients. The cocktails are excellent although service is a little slow. We ordered one of their snacks (I can't remember what it is) but it is like a collection of different carrots and beetroots with some dip and that was surprisingly delicious. The place is a little small and intimate, so not recommended for kids but perfect for date nights.

Cozy little cocktail bar in Russel place, clean fit out with a dark and moody feel. We popped in last night for a drink before catching Moulin Rouge. They have an extensive drinks list, and some creative cocktails.

Unfortunately yesterday we arrived at 5:17pm and didn't get our first drinks until 5:48. I'm not pedantic and don't time things but last night with only a couple of tables the service was terrible enough that I did the math. When the drinks did arrive, the four pillars yuzu gin and tonic was outstanding.

We did stick around for a second drink which was delivered promptly, but we didn't order food because we were unsure if we would get in time (I was eyeing off the crocodile bites).

With so many other solid options on Russell place I'm not sure I'd be convinced to try here again 🤷‍♂️
