Went in for a quick beer before walking the rail trail, was half tempted to never leave!
The publican/s were fantastic told me so much about the history of the pub, and the way the community ownership works.
It was great, they even played a game of pool with me before I left.
Will definitely be back!!

Great hotel. Camped out the back, perfect setting. Showers, toilets, grassy site, all great. Had beautiful pizza meal, with beer and wine, couldn't fault. Ripper staff. And to top it of we won the meat raffle. Will return.

Was there for the worst possible reason, a wake. But they were still able to work around my medical dietary restrictions. And provided me, with a delicious vegetarian pizza

Went to have a pub lunch with my car club and had the worst food i have ever eaten, my food was all burnt and we waited over an hour and some people waited two. The meals were so inconsistent when several of us got the same thing and they all came better or worse than others. Nothing good to say about it, my egg felt like a rubber disc and the entire meal was inedible. Everyone left feeling sick. We will never go back, one of our members had a steak and asked for it to be cooked more, they microwaved it and stuck it back on the plate it changed nothing. The excuse was that the kitchen was missing one person, there's no excuse for food that disgusting we shouldn't have had to pay.

If I could have given them a minus score I would have. What an absolute disaster of a visit. There were 31 of us and we had pre-booked the roast meal for lunch. They had also booked another club for the same time and day. We arrived 15minutes before our arrange time and before the other club. We were kept waiting and when the meals arrived the food was cold. Meat and vegetables were all stone cold and served on freezing cold plates. Despite the fact that this was pointed out to the waiter delivering the meals nothing was done and no apology was made. We had ordered sticky date pudding/citrus tart alternate drop. When the first of the desserts arrived it was a very small cold mini muffin like cake together with a smear of chocolate mousse with cream. We made a trip to the kitchen where we were told that the sticky date pudding/citrus tart was coming. It did eventually arrive. To top off the day the owner of the hotel accosted one of our party and accused him of being rude to his staff member and pointed his finger at our party member and said that if he had a problem we should talk to him not take it out on his staff. Unfortunately he had picked on someone who had not had an interaction with any of the staff. When this was pointed out to him he turned on his heel and said over his shoulder "I suppose I owe you an apology then". After the treatment and the meal we were served I think we were all owed an apology. I would not be surprised to hear that this establishment had been closed due to lack of business

A-bloody-mazing. Such a good place. Some of the locals don't love the campers but I'm sure they love our money. Great pub and Scotty is a legend. We met some great people and had a blast.

Staying for Camping for 3 nights, but we eat at the Pub. Food was great, the young waitress is very unprofesional, she gave me the wrong order but she keep saying i order wrong food. so i have to eat the food that she bring me. Chef was super nice and friendly looking after our breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

We had a Whiting fried fish $28, and the Chicken Parma $25 both came with chips and salad.
They were ample servings. And delicious.
The atmosphere of the Pub, was really cosy, and really friendly funny staff, with a really sweet country feel, complete with red checkered table cloths, and Rodeo on the TV and soft gentle country music.

Saturday night at Boolarra Community pub was a blast. We had been house sitting in Melbourne and decided, at the conclusion of that sit, to head off into the country for a break. I had read about the Boolarra Community pub before ( it was bought by the local townsfolk to keep it open ) and as it also had free camping next to the hotel we headed out there. It was about a 2 hour scenic drive from Melbourne and we arrived at about 4pm. Book in via the pub ( was told to choose a spot and set up ) set up and headed to the pub for a beer. Not the biggest range on offer but more than adequate. When we were told there was live music ($10 covert charge) we felt our evening was taken care of. Had dinner (/very good chicken snitty and chips with sauce) and then a bottle of wine while we listened to and danced to the music. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening there and would recommend it to all travelling in that area. We will be heading back for the Australia Day celebrations.

If you wish to use the ablutions - when camping there - they charge $5 for the key.
