Botanical Hotel - Pub in South Yarra Victoria

Had a wonderful day but unfortunately was given a menu for 'Happy Hour' as we were sitting outside. We thought, why not, we'll order a few oysters and fries, pointed to the menu we were handed with the happy hour discounts, and went about our day. We later received the bill and saw it charged us full price. When questioned, both waiters said "oh sorry, it's only valid if you get up and walk inside to order off the main bar"... who are we to know that where we are sitting is not the main bar?! This was never mentioned. Why would we receive a menu for items that are discounted and not valid where we are sitting... very very very disappointed.

Ok the weekend my bridal shower was held in the Archer Room.
I cannot fault anything at all.
From the time I enquired and booked with Kirsty I was always looked after so perfectly.
Ruby our host for the day was absolutely beautiful and all the other staff were wonderful.
The food was absolutely delicious, I haven't stopped getting messages from my guests about how tasty it all was.
The room is absolutely perfect, on a cold day the heating was so perfect and the lighting in the room made it feel like a beautiful spring day.
Highly recommend booking the Botanical for your events! Xxx

Lovely setting opposite the Botanical Gardens. Great staff, very friendly, accommodating and very responsive. Really nice ambience. Check it out!

We had lunch here on Friday with friends. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was truly delicious. I had the duck and although it arrived on a nice white plate and looked like a small portion, what I had was very special. Each mouthful delicious. Thankfully we ordered extra sides to share. The fries were crispy and tasty. The zucchini was a little bland. My husband had the roast chicken risotto and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our friend had the pork cutlet and his wife had prawns. Everyone was happy with their choices. The only disappointment for me was my cocktail which tasted watery. I'm sure an establishment with such a great reputation can do better than this. We are returning soon, so I'll give the cocktails another try 🤞🤞🤞

Very nice for all ... we been here for years... this first time after covid-19... my girlfriend back from overseas and the food still let us good moeries.
