The Burrawang Hotel is a beautiful old family friendly pub situated in such a pretty little town. It's definitely one of my favourite places to go. Staff are always friendly and helpful, food is delicious and they have a regularly updated menu. The beer garden and view are absolutely stunning! It can get very busy due to being so popular but when you're in such a charming place, it's not a problem at all! The publican often puts on special family events for the children as well, which makes it an even better venue in my opinion. Highly recommend!

The outlook is beautiful. However, we were seated next to the septic tanks which obviously wasn't pleasant.

The food was not good. Our food was stone cold, the fish was shrivelled and overcooked. I understand it was a busy weekend but the food was very disappointing.

Was planning to have a nice Easter lunch with my daughters however we had to wait over two hours for food only to find out it was "lost". We've come here twice and both times our orders have been lost. If you're looking for a nice lunch don't come here, the worst Caesar salad in the highlands! The kitchen staff didn't offer any compromise or apologies, should have been offered a full refund for such appalling service

We waited for two hours for food which was a very simple order, we also watched people who ordered after us get their food... then when we went to ask where it was they had lost our order. we had to order again and wait AGAIN. not only extremely poor service but when i finally got the Caesar salad it was disgusting.

Burrawang Village Hotel Review
I recently visited the Burrawang Village Hotel, nestled in the charming village of Burrawang, just 20 kilometers from beautiful Bowral. The hotel offers stunning views of the rolling hills in the Southern Highlands. Here are my thoughts:
Food: The food at the Burrawang Village Hotel is exceptional. I had the chance to sample their renowned Burrawang burger, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were delightful, and the presentation was top-notch.
Ambiance: The hotel boasts open fireplaces, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the picturesque surroundings.
Service: The staff provided friendly and attentive service. They made sure we felt welcome and attended to our needs promptly.
Room for Improvement: While the indoor experience was fantastic, I agree that the outdoor area could use some improvements. On warm days, it can get quite hot, and fans outside would be a welcome addition. It's essential for guests to have a comfortable space to enjoy their meals without feeling overheated.
In summary, the Burrawang Village Hotel is well worth a visit, especially if you're in the Sydney or Canberra area. With its impressive delicious food, and picturesque location, it's a delightful spot for a day trip or a longer stay.

Had Sunday Lunch today
We had the home made garlic bread from starters, was fresh and tasty.
I had the pork ribs for mains, was cooked well and the chips were delicious
Unfortunately my friends burger looked like it had sat at the pass for a while, the patty was dried out and the kids pasta had water all through the bottom.
But the view out the back was amazing

Most overrated pub in the Southern Highlands. I hope they're paying their staff well above award wage given the ludicrous price of drinks. $14.50 for a house whiskey on ice. We calculated, that equates to $483 in takings for an $80 bottle of spirits at retail.

Very average food. The pub has changed hands and the food has fallen a very long way from when they won two chefs hats 10 years ago.

The interior is nice and the outside area is phenomenal as a place to sit and spend time.

We had several steaks which were poorly cooked with poor slaw as a side. The burger was terrible with a cheap patty and bun. The food did come out quick during peak time. The garlic bread was analogous to what you would buy frozen and reheat in the oven.

We often go to the Lord Dudley which has shared management and see a lot of similarities in the pricing and food.

A great place to come for a drink, but not to eat.

Great old pub that's unfortunately losing its magic under new management... The kitchen is a shambles, portions small, expensive and corners are clearly being cut to maximise profit. Big shame as what feels like a greedy city business model kills off the experience and warm character of this pub.

What a disappointment...second time visiting and the food was less than average. Had to sit in a lovely outdoor area where the stench was unbearable...if you are opposed to a lingering septic tank smell. What a shame as this is supposed to be a destination venue. Must say the bar service was excellent...but downhill from there.

Grab a warm jacket and a beanie and an outdoor table and immerse yourself in the spectacular highlands view. Outdoors is dog friendly (big tick), the beer is cold and food is really delicious. We had duck spring rolls for starters and they were amazing, fresh and appear to be hand made. Best part is the friendly service, the staff here are just awesome.

Lost its magic :(

Used to be one of my favourite regional pubs in NSW, the new Lord Dudley folk have just stripped the character and service. Food takes forever to come out.. and then cold. They don't light all the fires outside, even on a relatively busy and cold Sunday like they used to either.

Just a shame.

Nice little country pub tucked away off the main drag.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, along with a nice eatery serving all your classic meals.

We ordered the chicken parmigiana and battered fish. I suspect the parmy was a frozen one as it was hard to cut and dense. You can usually tell fresh from frozen. Fish was nice enough.

Definately worth checking out if you're in the area.

Beautiful country town, fire was on but it was a gorgeous Autumn day outside. I had the Duck Spring Rolls for lunch and they were so good and the pastry was so crisp. Great view of the rolling hillside in the huge beer garden. Scattered tables on flat ground - some under cover plus plenty of tables scattered throughout the garden.
We'll be back!

We stayed here for one night on our way back to Canberra.

Super comfortable bed
Shower block very clean
Tea and coffee pod machine available
The staff are incredibly friendly and couldn't do more for you
The food is also amazing! The veal schnitzel was a personal highlight!

The door to the upstairs room area is a bit fiddly to open and is quite loud when closing!

Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here and at $150 per night, we will definitely stop over here again when we visit the Southern Highlands!

Loved small pub atmosphere. Quiet village. Beer cold. Good menu. Had one issue with food, but was acknowledged, apology issue, and alternate item arranged quickly. Service excellent. Highly recommend venue. ??'?

Lovely food and atmosphere. Two of us shared a ploughman's and a rocket salad, both were delicious. Kids burgers looked big and juicy, polenta chips, schnitzel and spring rolls were enjoyed by our friends. Lovely village pub, friendly staff, keen to go back.
Nice atmosphere and unpretentious with absolutely massive dinners. We got fish chips and salad and schnitzel chips and salad. The kitchen fellow was really nice and they have colouring in pencils and pages for kiddies.

A great old pub which is very well run, great service at the bar and from the kitchen. Good range of beers on tap, solid menu with all the pub classics plus a bit more. Definitely worth booking as it's always busy. Awesome views from the beer garden

Burrawang lovely village. The pub has great food, excellent outlook. Great on a sunny day. The pub is old style but comfortable. Highly recommended. Friendly staff. Advise you, book if you are planning a trip over the weekend.

I had dinner with two friends and our puppies, and I can't say enough! The food was perfect, the outdoor dining area immaculate and so comfortable; even in the depths of winter we were toasty warm with our table surrounded with gas heaters. The warmth and hospitality of this establishment really make it special, though; they are authentically friendly and we felt truly welcome. A really lovely night.

Absolutely fantastic. The food was great, plenty of it, very hot and tasty. Had half a dozen oysters at only $1.00 each very fresh only small but great. The young waitress whose name was Phoebe, went above and beyond, hope the owner, manager realises just what a treasure she is, and rewards her financially, these type of people are few and far between. Can't beat country people they are do helpful and nice to boot.

Celebrated mum in laws 80th birthday with lunch here. We were booked as a group of 24 and they put us in the marquee in the back. They had the open fireplace running as well as the heaters scattered across for everyone to get some much needed heat from the winter weather. The kitchen did well in getting the food out in a prompt manner and everybody was happy with what they had ordered. Plenty of choice across the menu to cater for all taste.

Fantastic old pub in the Southern Highlands South West of Sydney🇦🇺. 2 hour drive🚙roughly, don't speed". Good rates, great staff, great food, beer🍻, lots to do around area. Fitzroy falls just for starters. Great history all over this area. Some fantastic old pubs all over the Southern Highlands. Great Australian countryside, fantastic tree colours in Autumn... Love it.'

Some great pub good! Fish & Chips were stellar and would highly recommend. Nice interior. Feels like a cool, inner Sydney pub, but its located in the cute town of Burrawang.
Julia Cleary
A clean comfy room and nice bed with white sheets, just how I like them! It has 3 full bathrooms like in a house - where, once you are in it, you have the whole bathroom to yourself so it is private. The pub itself is gorgeous and the food and service is very good. The bars and seating areas are cosy with real wood fires. Overall it is well kept. There are beautiful views from the garden. At $100 a night including a $15 breakfast in the General Store close by, this is a great place to stop by and have a good time with friends and loved ones.

Great meal, with view in the beer garden.
