Nice and attentive staff, good wholesome portions and excellent cocktails.

Recently had my 70th birthday party there (wait I'm not that old). Had booked their extended beer garden but forecast for day was 39 degrees so kindly moved us inside for better air con. That was a wonderful move. Dayna managed our preparations and was excellent. The day went off without a hitch with lovely food and drink. Very affordable. The bar area was great and given short notice of change was well presented. I have been before for a wine dinner which was also excellent so would recommend them for functions, events, wine dinners and meals. Mention my name and you're likely to be chucked out...well maybe not. Well worth a visit and meal. Good parking and lovely staff.

Had a fantastic experience at the Caledonian Hotel. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with that classic pub atmosphere that feels welcoming and comfortable, without being outdated. The venue is spacious, clean, and well laid out, making it a great spot whether you're there for a relaxed meal, a catch-up with friends, or a casual drink.

The food was a real highlight. Generous portions, well-presented plates, and everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. Pub classics are done properly here, and you can tell care goes into the cooking rather than just rushing meals out. The menu has a great range to suit different tastes, and the pricing feels very fair for the quality and size of the meals.

Service was excellent throughout our visit. Staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help, which made the whole experience even better. Orders came out promptly, drinks were never left empty for long, and the team made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves.

Overall, the Caledonian Hotel is a reliable and enjoyable spot with great food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's definitely worth a visit and somewhere I'd happily return to.

Celebrated my husbands 80th birthday with cocktail food in the Beer Garden area on Sunday afternoon, 14th December. The cocktail food was amazing, tasty and hot. Would certainly recommend this area for a private function. Wish to thank Daena in helping us to organise our package and for her wonderful support in making sure everything went to plan. Thank you to our barman on the day. We also had great comments from out guests regarding the quality of food and venue. Thank you Caledonian Hotel.

We attended one of their wine dinners which turned out to be amazing value. Started off with a cocktail which was great. Really friendly staff who looked after us all night. The food was great. The wine was great. Join the mailing list!
