This review is for our recent dinner we enjoyed so much.The oysters were so fresh with a delicious dipping sauce.Ours mains and deserts were exquisitely presented and absolutely delicious.It was an a la carte menu.
Will definitely be going back.

I have a new favorite place at Ballarat. A tight tasty menu, cool wine list and service that made me feel very special - like I was in a private club where members are loved and cared for. The chef here really knows how to get the best out of local produce. I have also been back for breakfast at the cafe - black pudding - now that's a breakfast.

We held our wedding reception at Hotel Canberra's Vesta x Jigs restaurant in December of 2024. It was everything we could've hoped for!

The room was beautifully decorated. Pete was so attentive and engaging with us and our guests. Even going to the effort of knowing the names of many of the family members. All of our guests spoke about how delicious the food was. Jigs puts so much love and attention into everything he creates.

I would recommend Vesta x Jigs to anyone looking for a space to hold an event.

What an absolutely charming hotel. We stayed in the one bedroom suite which was beautifully styled and well proportioned. The room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable with a modern en-suite. We were welcomed warmly by the owners and overall had a lovely stay. We also had a wonderful breakfast in the cafe downstairs so definately check that out.

We were fortunate enough to attend a function at Hotel Canberra. They have an impressive beer list, excellent wine and delicious local food cooked to perfection. The owner was extremely hospitable and made everybody feel very much at home. We can't wait to come back.

We ate at The Stables; cute courtyard basking in the sun. Some of the best service we've had with a very friendly waiter and kitchen staff. We were touring for Ballarat's best pie well let me tell you, the smell envelops you long before the pie arrives. A beautiful rich pastry encasing tender slow cooked pork adobo with a flavoursome glossy pork jus. Yum. Immaculate bathrooms. Easy parking

Service and food is amazing. Other local culinary peers pails in comparison and not sure why Hotel Canberra hasn't been hatted. Hats aside, this is a hidden Ballarat gem. If you haven't been, book a table NOW.

We had an amazing lunch here today for our 31st Wedding Anniversary. My have loooved the Gin & Beetroot Salmon and my Stables Burger was one of the best I've had. I'm glad I chose the chips with Pepper & garlic Aoli instead of the salad too. ðŸ˜

By far the best meal I've had in Ballarat and I've lived here for 3 years. Also, my Mum is a French chef, and this would be one of a few places I'd feel confident bringing her for a guaranteed awesome meal.

Wow what an amazing evening meal that was tonight.

The hosts and chef put on a special experience. Courses and wines, one by one to savour. Excellent experience to tickle your taste buds on show, and hands down one of the more memorable meals in recent years. Highly recommend spending the money as you won't be disappointed.

We certainly will all be back again.
