Carlisle Castle Hotel, Newtown NSW

I'm a regular at Carlisle Castle Hotel for their bistro, and it never fails to impress! The prawn spaghetti, nachos, and lamb shank are always incredible - honestly, some of the best dishes I've had. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the Wednesday night trivia is a blast! It's the perfect spot to relax, enjoy amazing food, and have a great time. Highly recommended!

I love an old style pub that has kept its old charm. The moment you walk in and are greeted by the long narrow bar you can feel that old worldly charm. And out the back there are discreet little dining rooms and a small beer garden. That said the beer selection is great, with lots of local brews. The food is top notch. I had the beef quesadillas, a friend had the veg version and we both raved about the flavour and just the right amount of chilli. When I'm back in the area I will definitely go back to this great little inner west pub.

Kitchen staff are incredibly friendly. Bartenders also friendly. Good daily meal specials. Nice selection of beers on tap. Friendly locals throughout. Dog friendly 🐕

Only thing that brings it down for me is the smelling cigarette smoke whilst being in the non smoking areas.

A great local pub with a very good bistro. Nothing better than to wander down and have a beer and a steak on a Friday afternoon. Succulent rump steaks, great Nachos, excellent chilli prawn spaghetti.

The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the trivia on Wednesday nights is so much fun. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy a fantastic meal. Highly recommended!
