Fantastic pub meal with a huge range on the specials board, quiet atmosphere with lovely staff, had the prawn carbonara OMG !! Best meal I've had in a long time, amazing, the place was busy and they were bringing out the food in know time, a place I recommend and I will be back 😋???-

If you truly want a country pub experience with excellent meals, value for money then drop in, only a short drive from Launceston CBD or passing through if you are touring you will find easy and ample parking for your van, Winnebago etc. During winter the centrally located toasty log firebox adds a lovely ambience to the dining room, the walls adorned with interesting photographs detailing local Carrick history.

Extensive menu to cater for everyone, blackboard specials, pop to the counter and order, relax and enjoy. Locals love it and so will you, often fully booked so call ahead to avoid disappointment.

Went for lunch today, dressed up and looking forward to the delicious food. On arrival, there is no greeting, no table service, no water or anything else that is considered welcoming.
Firstly we had our garlic bread slammed on the table by the male owner, maybe a hint of what to come!
Then, politely and quietly I returned my Twice cooked pork belly due to it having 5cm of fat before getting to the 1cm of meat that was not melt in the mouth. The sauce was cold and inedible.
Upon trying to explain my disappointment to the manager, I had my plate snatched away and my $30 refund slammed on my table. No offer of a replacement meal. She was aggressive and nasty.
Finally, we went to find them both in the front bar to explain how rudely we were treated and trying to explain why the pork was bad.
This is when the screaming abuse from her, and the derogatory comments from him began.
Never in my life have I been treated so viciously over a quiet complaint. Neither of them could care less about their customers. Why people go there to be treated so poorly I will never know. Believe the comments you read about tension in the house which is why they cannot retain a decent chef.
Give the Carrick a wide berth if you want a nice friendly experience.

Love old places like this. Didn't feel very welcomed but we didnt care. Had a drink n wandered the area. Barman not very chatty. Will return tho.
