The three of us were shown to out table. First impressions of the venue were okay. Typical hotel you could say.
The menu was pretty decent. My wife and step son chose corn fritters for starters. I chose the Fried chicken.
The corn fritters according to the two of them were very nice. My chicken was a little dry and bland. No taste at all. Disappointed.
For mains, my stepson and myself ordered the open souvlaki and my wife wanted the Chicken Scallopini. My wife enjoyed her meal.
Cannot say the same for the souvlakis. The Lamb was so swimming in oil or fat. Little or no salad and the souvlaki wraps were bone dry. Like cardboard. Filled one up with filling and really struggled to eat it. Worst souvlaki I have ever tasted. Asked my stepson what he thought. One word. Terrible.
One other point. My stepson ordered drinks via the QR code. We waited ages. In the end, after the mains had been served, he had to query a server where our drinks were. They finally served drinks half way through mains.
We had coffee and tea afterwards. That was the best part for me. Coffee was good.
Summing up, the staff were very pleasant and efficient. As for the food? Well. Already know what we thought.
What mark? Hmmm. Really struggling to give the experience 5 out of 10.

The open lamb souvlaki was great. However, the wait time for some dishes was quite long, with certain items taking an extra 20 minutes to arrive.

Went here for a family double party, ordered a chicken schnitzel (w/ chips + salad) ... the chicken was microwave re heated was moist for fist and second bites rest was like rubbery hard to cut and chew, salad was over dressed. Chips were the most consistently average. Won't order that again. 28$ I can go to my local pub and get it freshly made and not microwaved.

Turned up at 630 no booking 25 people they did amazing to fit us In the staff were great and very helpful all night. Amazing job by 2 chefs to get all our meals out around the same time and all tasting yummy.
Definitely will be back for sure and letting others know what a great place you are running.

It's a decent mid range venue. The better part is there is a playground for the kids and is good for family events. Food is your typical bistro food, nothing to fancy, but it's not expected. Overall it's a good local to take the family too

Food was discusting and I now have really bad indigestion/ and very strong pains in my stomach as the rice in garlic prawns had Indian spices and the prawns were hard, dry, even hard to cut. It's not an Indian dish. I am not racist, I am now sick I cannot eat spices. My husbands roast Turkey was thin slices like you buy from the deli, processed meat, as you can see in the photo, my daughters fish and chips tasted like the oil was weeks old, filtering your fryers is different to changing the oil.
Deserts, well, wat can I say they didn't disappoint, that was just as bad.. Apple turnovers was from woollies or coles along with the custard in a carton,
Tried again now failed, will never go back... . Food was Terrible. TERRIBLE Terrible......and cause we complained, the staff became rude. We didn't want our money back, the head of staff and the cook should be careful with what they say, but you definately will not get anymore.
Would definately NOT Recommend

Sadly the food has gone down hill in a big way. They refer to a stack of heated chicken loaf with gravy being a roast of the day. Considering the climate we live in and the cost of dining out now- this is really disappointing. Lift your game guys as this is pretty shamefull.

Extremely disappointed with the meals at Castello's. Eight of us dined there for lunch with every meal a disappointment. The 'open' souvlaki (photo provided) was far from what it should have been. Other meals may have looked so so, but tasted terrible. They have a booking app so you order the meals and drinks on your device, but sadly everyone who did this never received their drinks, then had to show proof of purchase when asking why we had not received them.

l was celebrating a birthday ? from my wife's sisters who turned another older ,and here are a couple of photos from dinner ,a steak chips and salad $42 a bit expensive for me ,The hamburger was delicious as l was told but the platter was delicious but the pork belly bites weren't seasoned and fatty

Can not fault this Restaurant. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere, fantastic food and the Play area was awesome for the kids. We had a table for 7 which was spacious. I had the Risotto, which was perfectly cooked and very tasty, my husband had the steak , cooked to perfection, the kids had a Parma and nugget.. Highly recommend for lovely food, friendly staff and fun for the kids.
Passing through Pakenham on one of our random trips, and decided to call in for a meal.

It was great. The prices were fair, but the servings HUGE... and they were great.

So. Anyone passing through, definitely put this place on your list.

Parking: On site, plenty of spaces.

Wheelchair access; Not a problem in the car parks,a disabled access bay near the front door. Access into the venue front and back is easy.

Good meals, quick service.
Wheelchair access to all areas.
Has pokies but well away from dining area.
Very open and a little noisy but well worth the stop for dinner.

The play area is nice and clean, and has activities for all ages. The staff are helpful and friendly. The food isn't fantastic, but hey, it's pub food; you can't expect much more than that! Pro tip though: don't get the brownie - it's more like a pudding/chocolate cake, and the menu will say it's accompanied by "strawberries" but mine was served with a single half haha. The serving sizes are pretty generous though, so I probably didn't need to order dessert in the first place

Meals were great, staff was friendly and coffee amazing. Would like a bit more variety and maybe a few salads but otherwise great. My kids aged 6, 4 and 2 loved the playground.

Meals great, havnt been here since the renovations so was a little lost. If u don't like ordering using your phone they still have walk up to order. Will go back.

Interior is nice, not too packed or dated.
Ordering from an app with a QR code on the menu was a fantastic experience, I wish all restaurants did this (you still have the option to queue up at the register).
We did have to wait a long time for our food, which was made worse by the fact that we were in a seating window and were being kicked out at a set time. Our drinks also never showed up (that I paid for through the ordering app) but a waitress got them for us when we chased them up.
Once the food arrived it was fairly good, the quality you'd expect from a bistro such as this. Overall was bit on the expensive side though.

Most meals were very good, some could have used a little more on the plate but it all was very tasty. The burger I had could have been seared with the bourbon sauce instead of putting it on top of the patty as the heat made the sauce runny and made it so I had to keep dining my burger in the sauce on the plate. But still very tasty

Place looks fantastic with the new update.
Felt the food could be stepped up just a tad, I had the chicken burger and it was fairly bland. My sons cheese burger from the kids menu was also extremely dry.
Over all tho good service and efficient staff, food also came out quickly from our time of order.

Recently visited with family and we honestly all enjoyed the meals. Not one complaint and everyone commented how good the food was. Perhaps more vegetarian meals would be good too. We had no issues with the cost as it's standard pub prices really. Ordering meals at your table was super easy however we had to go to the bar due to limited drinks available on the online ordering system. The staff were great but one lady seemed like she needed a dose of happy pills to work in customer service. Would definitely go back.
Bistro is a nice place to dine, and menu had a decent selection. Prices were decent too but we had to wait quite a while for many meals we ordered, including kids meals. Most of the dishes we were served were quite oily, and 2 dishes had to be sent back - one chicken dish was served not properly cooked, and another rice dish was soaked in garlic and was inedible. The rest of the meals ordered were satisfactory but overall experience wasn't great.
Staff here are so welcoming and friendly. They all work so well making sure the place is clean. Excellent attention to detail with table cleaning. Food was yum! We were impressed with the vegan options. Definitely will be back.
