Web site, updated Oct 2024, states steak sandwich $15 but it was $24. Kitchen staff were extremely noisy you could hardly hear your partner talk. Service was negligible. Steak was gristly. Table was dirty. Need I say more.

We visited the pub on a Saturday after the Raw Challenge. In the beginning, I didn't feel much comfortable as it's a very old building and not maintained at all.
When I approached to order a lovely lady chef heard me ordering the Neptune burger and she was so nice to suggest if I wanted the option of the grilled or the fried chicken. I thanked her as this was such a gesture!
When we picked up the food, the experience it was mind blowing. Juicy, crisply, fresh, hot, I have never eaten a better burger at the big shiny pubs even and I have travelled all around the world! A young guy cleared at table with a smile and very shortly after we finished our meal so we enjoyed the view without dirty plates in front of us. Guys, you are amazing! We are planning to keep returning! To the manager of the pub and the owner please look after your team, their food is amazing and their service exceptional!

Food is very average and quite overpriced. Doesn't seem like there's any food cooked from scratch to be honest.

Service and bar is good. Beer garden is a great space but could have music earlier in the day like they used to on weekends to create a lot more atmosphere. As a long time frequenter this place definitely needs some tlc. Food needs to be better in this day and age especially in such a historic pub.

You'd be lucky to get a table on a beautiful Saturday afternoon a few years back but it was pretty dead.

Absolutely ??'?!! This place and town is amazing, so picturesque and the food is amazing. The salt and pepper squid was the best I have had even though it lacked a little on the 'pepper' side the tenderness made up for it. My wife had the Thai beef salad which she also rated highly. When done eating don't forget to to do a walk along the beach below the old pier. Well worth it. The area is (mostly) untouched by development. Don't miss it if nearby. It's like a jump back in time.

Edit: Visited again today and ordered the same .... Good to see nothing has changed. 5 Star
