Central Hotel - Pub in Lakes Entrance Victoria

Great pub, good choice of beers on tap. Good atmosphere and great view.

Used to be a great place and the service is awesome but the food has gone to hell

I have been here many many many times with my wife and kids and by myself (love Lakes Entramce) and normally the food is awesome but tonight I ordered the "special" which was supposed to be beef vindaloo with rice and naan and raita - the vindaloo was a thick beef stew and nothing even remotely close to a vindaloo (zero heat) and the serving size was anything but a main meal size unless it's off the kids menu

then I got for dessert my all time favourite of sticky date pudding with icecream...

What I got was a bit of sponge cake that may have been inspired by but didn't have any dates with a tiny drizzle of watery toffee sauce on top

I didn't make a fuss I didn't complain (the staff are too nice to drop the kitchens shortfall on them)

I don't know if it's a change in chef or some new management cost saving but I now know why tonight the joint was so empty and if the food isn't any better next time it won't see me again (and I suspect many others)

Please bring back your great food!

We came for dinner- 2 briskets... absolutely amazing. Chocolate mousse delicious. Service outstanding. Never seen happier people! We would eat here every night!

Both pasta dishes were superb. Quick service even though bistro was busy. Drinks not overpriced me Highly recommend

Great friendly service, everyone was happy and meals were fantastic, not just another pub meal, more like a restaraunt. Seafood dishes were delicious and food came quickly.
