Cherry - Bar in Melbourne Victoria

My friend and I went to Cherry bar for a couple of drinks, we both ended up getting spiked and the security and managers did nothing to help. It was very scary and seems like a common thing that happens there. Be careful.

Not too appreciative of the dodgy nature of the management here. I'm a member of a band that played here months ago and they've not payed us yet. The show was a good one and the small upstairs area was at capacity. Everyone was energised, us and the crowd alike.

Dear Punters, go somewhere else were there is respect and support for the Melbourne music scene.

Great music good drinks, but unfortunately atmosphere is dead Sunday nights now mark isn't playing live. Bring back mark percy....

My friend and I ended up at Cherry Bar, one of the few spots open in our area at the time. The place had a lively vibe, practically bursting with energy from street level, which piqued our interest. Once inside, we headed upstairs and found the crowd to be older and grungier than we anticipated, and the noise level was simply too high for us. I ordered a vodka lime soda but left before I could even finish it. A local band was playing; they weren't bad, and there was a good crowd on the dancefloor, but everyone had to shout to be heard over the deafening music.

Honestly, this bar wasn't a good fit for me. It caters to those who appreciate rock and grunge in a less polished setting. If that's your scene, you might enjoy it, but it wasn't for me, hence the 2/5 rating!

Good rock bar. I like rock bars with nice music. And it matched my expectations.
