Chloe's Dining Room @ Young and Jacksons, Melbourne VIC

We were unfairly treated as a small group of women of color. Arrived at 11:59am to an empty dining room, one of the waitresses brushed us off to the pub outside, didn't bother asking if we'd like a table. A moment later a group of white ladies (walk in) was given a table. We asked if we could also be seated, immediately got told that was the last table and they were booked out. Tried to point out we were here first, the waitress called her 'manager' who then offered us a table in haste, neither of them seem to have the patience to listen to us. Yes, we were dressed casually and have a kid with us, but all customers should be treated equally. Walked out very disappointed ☹️

The staff are excellent; very helpful & fun. My companions thought their rigatoni was great; my lamb shoulder was ok but a bit dry. The baked cheesecake was superb. It's very noisy but 'good' noisy in that you know everyone is enjoying their company and conversation. A good lunch was enhanced by great company, lovely wine & excellent service.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience in this beautiful restaurant. Our waitress Nancy was delightfully attentive and pleasant offering assistance promptly and politely.
The wild barramundi dish was tasty and plentiful. Both meals we ordered were well presented.
The food and drinks menus were both reasonably priced.
We would definitely return again.

It had a booking of 32 people for my daughter's Hens dinner. So impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail and service. Elise and the team working were incredible to handle such a large booking. Chefs did amazing bringing yummy food out in a timely manner and such a smooth flow to the whole night. We will be back for other functions and dinners. Thank you so much for your kindness and ensuring the entire evening was memorable.

A great place for a city lunch. A window seat overlooking Flinders Street Station and the bustling crowds. Service impeccable, ambience interesting but sadly disappointing lunch. Great value at 2 courses and a glass of wine for $38 but the snapper fish we ordered by very dry and unappetizing. Had a nice experience anyway.
