Dropped in after seeing the renovations nearly done. Thought we'd stop in as previously meals were good and value for money. It was terrible. The food was of poor quality and presentation and the chips were awful. Location is great and we like to support local businesses. We will give it another go at some stage.
The restaurant was great for dinner, and the food was delicious. The new atmosphere was also comfortable and had an amazing area for the kids to play inside! However, one of the waitresses was rude and rushed us to finish our meals because she complained she needed to go home to her children. Fair enough, but there was no need for any of it.

Recently went and ordered ribs, they were inedible - all bone, no meat, and very over cooked.

Giving 3 stars as our previous experiences at The Claremont have been good. Hoping our next visit isn't our last!

Food is amazing if you are lucky enough to receive it.

Been twice over the past few weeks and both times our pizzas we ordered to share as starters did not arrive until after mains were finished. I can understand mistakes happen but two visits in a row is no longer an accident.

Hopefully they can work through their timing issues as they would have received 5 stars if not for this.

We had a birthday lunch last week at the Mont. Second time there and honestly found the meals and service were fantastic. No booking required and served promptly . My steak was done just as I liked. Can highly recommend. We had desserts. ' Couldn't fit in another thing ' . thanks.

Nice pub style meals and orders are taken from your table. We were there for a birthday party and they stored our cake until we were ready for it then brought it to the table with the candles on it. They also brought plates and spoons as well as a large cake cutting knife. Felt very welcome and catered for. Definitely go there.

Attended a birthday there.
Service was first class.
Food was, for a hotel restaurant, surprisingly good.
The new dining room is comfortable and well laid out.
All in all a pleasant experience.
Will go again.

We ate in the Mont last week, and the food we had was great. The staff were wonderful. However, we ate in the restaurant today, and I was so disappointed in the meal. I had a BBQ chicken parmigiana, and the BBQ sauce on the chicken was disgusting. It was so sugary, and sweet, I almost vomited. It tasted like the normal bottle BBQ sauce you get from Coles or Woolworths.
So disappointing, when you're wanting to go out for a nice meal.
The staff were still helpful though.

The staff are rude and not helpful.
Miss the hotels old staff.

Went for tea with family.
Arrived at 545pm and ordered straight away.
Took over 75mins to get our meals, including kids meals.
Meals cold on arrival, orders not correct and a steak for a child came out rare!! After ordering medium / well.
Opening child's play area soon, pointless if it takes this long to get a child's meal and it's not cooked.

Since reopening not the best dining experience!

The renovations to the bistro look amazing so far, it's so much more modern and up to date.
The food was just as excellent as it was before the renos. My hubbies steak basically melted in his mouth and my chicken was delicious.
Staff were also very friendly and service was prompt given they were very busy.

Excellent meals at a good price. Professional staff and a nice atmosphere
April 2022: I've been to the Claremont Hotel for dinner on several occasions. Usually instigated by friends who live in the area. Location if you live in Claremont is ideal, but not when you live in the inner city, it's a bit of a drive for a meal. This is your stock standard pub, staff are friendly, but you need to queue at the kiosk to order food. Meals are reasonably priced and usually delicious. Sadly this venue has pokies. What would be much nicer is if they removed the pokies and added live music events on the evenings instead (like the Republic Bar and former Brunswick Hotel).

We paid over $100 for 2 single beds for 1 night. The room is extremely small. The bathroom is so narrow and the sink are tiny. Could not even fill up the kettle. When U wash your face, the floor will get all wet. Missing part inside the shower. The room is smelly. Never anyone at reception. Not worth all.
