Great old historic pub. Good accommodation without the frills. Share bathroom clean and tidy . Accommodation on the first floor on magnificent stair case.
Restaurants closed due to no chef. However worth a visit when down Camperdown way.

Now just a pokies joint and no longer a cosy country pub. They don't even serve meals or run a bottleshop anymore - the new owner seems focussed on gambling revenue. It's incredibly sad when you consider the impact of gambling addiction on rural communities. Thankfully the lovely Hampden Pub down the road has a great vibe, good meals and an excellent beer garden!

I'm reluctant to share my 5 star rating of this hotel because I'm really tempted to keep it as 'a best kept secret'. But in the interests of sharing the bounty, what a truly wonderful establishment. First of all, the staff - brilliant! The accommodation, would rank with any of the high 4-star competition. And at half the price, for a queen suite overlooking the main street with tea and coffee plus a kitchen with multiple breakfast options available. All inclusive. Spotlessly clean and beautiful Victorian architecture.

I thought the Commercial Hotel was great. The staff were very helpful. Various size rooms to meet anyone's needs. A tape in dining area would be nice to make tea.

New owners with big plans ,can't wait to see the improvements,bistro reopening soon and new look gaming room

The hotel is going thru renovations at the moment,
The bathrooms were clean, staff friendly and ample breakfast available in the morning
Surprisingly there were ample PowerPoints in the rooms for charging my devices
It is evident new wiring has taken place in the accommodation block
Overall a pleasant stay

This hotel was the best. Had great owner & awesome staff. It is so sad that the new owners have shut it down. Anyone know if it will open again?

Incredibly welcoming staff.

It was one of the hottest days and I was waiting for the train to Melbourne. The lady behind the bar was incredibly welcoming and considerate. I did not get her name, but her thoughtfulness will live long in my memory.

I have left a review on Black Rhino Group if anyone would like to read that. New owners have stuffed this pub in 20 days.

We have an up and down experience at our "local"., but tonight it was good. Our meals arrived together and we're quite enjoyable. Staff gave good service.

Had been our regular Friday night hang........new owners now, food is not up to scratch anymore.....meat warm/hot, veg and chips just slightly better than cold and the garlic bread is no better than woolies stuff for under $2 Really disappointed

Food was bloody terrible and cold . I ordered Cabnara and bloody got spaghetti in cheese sause . Mums chips were cold . Won't be back and we used to go every week . No more .

Had dinner there 2 nights in a row whilst on holidays. Fabulous staff & really good food.

The best food in Camperdown by far. This is a must try, highly recommend for anyone coming to Camperdown. We ordered the steak, parma and Cobb loaf, everything was cooked to perfection. We came back twice during our short weekend away

Fantastic place for a meal and drinks, not so much the accommodation. The bed was very uncomfortable and only had one thin pillow for each of us. But definitely worth going for a meal! Great service and atmosphere.

Lovely staff at the pokies who assisted with check in.
Accommodation as expected very basic needs met and Wifi and brekkie included.

6 Parkland Ladies Golfers from Hamilton enjoyed a fantastic dinner tonight before playing the final of 2021 Pennant at the Camperdown golf course tomorrow. Recommend anyone who are in the area to enjoy a meal at this hotel, the staff are so friendly and have a great knowledge of the area.

Called in without a booking on what was probably one of their busiest days. They fitted us in and while the wait for our meals was long, the food was very very good. The staff were lovely and brought us chips to tide the kids over while we waited. I had the prawns which were delicious, as was the rack of lamb. Would definitely go back and recommend it.

Food was average but the portions were massive, good service, the real problem was that we were entertaining our kids with singing a long to some songs (I have 3 under the age of 7) and was told that someone had asked for us to turn it off, and that we needed to turn it off, so not a family friendly place. Head up the road to the "Steak Road" pub instead heaps better

Really impressed with dinner here. Delicious generous sized meals at reasonable prices with friendly excellent service. I loved it. Will be back for sure.
