Would not consider this. place again, food average, rooms average, shared bathrooms not to my liking.

New cafe.Very comfortable decor very good service and excellent coffee.

We have had dinner out at several places in Casino, however none have reached the quality of the Commercial Hotel, we've had dinner there a few times and almost every time the food has been extremely good. We had dinner there on Friday and ordered the spare ribs, which thus far have been very tasty, and the Humpty Doo Barramundi, which to my suprise was extremely good and cooked to perfection.

The staff were friendly and approachable, however it appears that they're not allowed to talk to customers. Nonetheless, thanks for a great meal, we will be back because it appears that the other food establishments are very below standard.

Well we were having a lovely day doing the sights and stopped at the commercial hotel in Casino. Got there at 1.52 and asked if we could order lunch. Well Marnie and Cassie said that the chef clocked off at 2 and if we put our order in they could do it. They recommended the steaks so we ordered a rump a porterhouse a burger and the duck spring rolls. Plus we ordered some beers and champagne. Marnie and Cassie were amazing and gave me a taste of the beers to see which one I liked. Needless to say that when the meals came out all I can say in one word YUM. Excellent food fantastic service with the biggest smiles I have ever seen. Great atmosphere and when we come back this will be our first stop. Well done chef and girls thanks for recommending the steaks. 10 stars to you all.

Dinner here was spectacular! Amazing spare ribs and beef burger! Staff are very friendly and approachable. Thanks for a great meal guys, we'll be back when we pass through again ?

Recently had our Christmas party at the Commercial Hotel! Couldn't fault a thing! Jess' service and hospitality was amazing! A group of 30 people including adults & children and NO ONE could fault the food! The food was bloody amazing!! Thanks guys, we had a fantastic time!

There seems to have been some changes lately with a lot of staff leaving, resulting in slow service from staff who are not friendly or efficient. The food is still ok but is very slow and not served hot. The staff don't seem to know how to multi-task and think ahead and seem disinterested.
The coffee quality has declined too. There's a difference between knowing how to use a coffee machine and knowing how to make a good coffee. They seem to barely know the first.
I think there is a lack of good leadership that brings a front of house team together.
Definitely have started to go elsewhere now, such a shame after enjoying this place for a few years now

Gave it a go for lunch. Had the chicken schnitzel. First one came out pretty burnt and after consultation with my dining partner we agreed that it was pretty unacceptable. I complained and they agreed to make another one. The second one came out a bit better so I ate it. It was tough and hard . I worked out that the schnitzel was being cooked from frozen at high temperature hence the dark brown exterior. It probably goes into the same high heat oil as the chips. I would like to recommend to the kitchen to defrost the schnitzel before cooking to allow the golden brown to signify that the schnitzel is indeed well done. Service was also slow and prices high compared to other pub meals in the region.

Beer garden out back is the historic site of the world renowned Blaise vs Eamon Arm Wrestling matches.
2019 saw Blaise absolutely dominate her male Roosters supporter.
And in 2021 we witnessed a total repeat.
Rumour has it that Eamon may run for Mr Beef Week in 2022...

There is no such thing as a typical Australian pub, each is as unique as its licensee. I checked in to a standard room at the Commercial Hotel in mid-December when the mercury was teetering on a balmy 35°C. Mary Bligh thought better of it and upgraded me to an air-conditioned room for around the same price. There is no hospitality quite like country town hospitality. The weekly blackboard menu boasts classic pub fare with extra flair, while the dining room has been preserved in the original character with ambience on tap. What better way to celebrate your arrival than with a clean and fresh schooner of draft on the lofty balcony and watching the passing parade.

Beautiful food they had a brand new menu. Good choices salads and traditional pub food. They have done it up inside but not taken away the old vibe theme. Drinks cold and lovely. This is one of the nicest old pubs we have been in for food drinks,decor and value, and we have been all around OZ. Highly recommended.

I booked in for two nights as I had things to do in the region. My room was basic, but so am I. It was clean and tidy and that's all I need. I came back for night 2 with a little bit of hunger. The menu looked good, but I needed something light and asked for a salad...which I got and it was nice. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The toilets and showers need some attention....that is all.

Reasonably priced porterhouse steak cooked reasonably well. A liitle overcooked for 'blue' but still moist considering the fairly thin cut. The chips and gravy were good. The chicken burger was tasty, on a nice crunchy foccacia bun and the fish of the day was extremely tasty with the lemon butter..... Coeliac friendly menu.
