We organised a 60th birthday party at the Commercial Travellers for about 30 friends and family. We worked with Gabby and Steve who took us through the different packages we could have, both food and wine. We also took the option of staying on premises which is very convenient, not only for the function but also Gulgong central itself.
The food was amazing. Cheese and fruit skewers, smoked trout and sourdough, onion tarts, dumplings and desserts. All house made and all delicious. They were even good enough to make a last minute change for dietary reasons.
The package was great. Our only gripe - spirits had to be paid for. This is OK but we just didn't expect it.
Highly recommend for something different. The speak easy theme really sets the vibe. Loved it

We had a group of 18 stay for 3nights we booked the whole Pub for accommodation
& booked the function room for one night for a 60th party.
The food & wine package for 4hrs was Amazing...
We really enjoyed having the use of the beer garden & the upstairs veranda to sit for drinks & nibbles. If you are looking for a weekend getaway with a group of friends I highly recommend the Commercial Stay.

Nice and tidy rooms in a beautiful old pub has been Converted into like the name says travellers Lodge... beds are really comfortable sheets are clean. The shared toilet and showers were always clean and the staff are friendly... The only thing is, we had a room downstairs, and also we hired a room upstairs and downstairs room with the people above us, as you would expect, the floorboards were very creaky and could hear every footstep.. apart from that, it's cheap, it's cheerful and it's clean. I do recommend this place to stay when passing through Gulgong..

Overall good stay, rooms were nice and for a great price, it was nice to sit on the balcony at night and have nibbles. Bathrooms were shared and a bit dirty. Overall, pleasant stay for what we paid. Thanks

Excellent customer service, very accommodating and willing to help at every opportunity, room was great value for money, clean and well equipped. Added bonus was the building feels genuinely period without feeling dated. Highly recommend at the price point, i will return.

Very good accommodation we had a good night sleep here.
