The Commercial Hotel

3/1/25 Made plans to meet with a friend from interstate here on a Friday night. Arrived at 8:30pm and tried to order food before being told the kitchen had stopped serving mains for the evening (even through the menu and website said the bistro closed at 9pm on a Friday night). After speaking with both the staff and manager, they said they would not serve us main meals and the best they could do was wedges/chips. We were told that the website was wrong and that it wasn't happening. Needless to say my friend was disappointed and I was embarrassed.

What sort of venue that has just undergone renovations and is looking to welcome new guests closes their bistro at 8:30pm on a Friday night, the busiest night of the week?

Management need to be taught how to run a business. Service is unreliable at best. Don't waste your time here, there are much better alternatives in parramatta if you're looking for a feed and drink.

Only reason I'm giving two stars is because it was the bartenders first shift. Cutting her slack because she's not the one calling the shots here.

We had the most fabulous time for my 40th upstairs in the lounge bar. A huge thanks to Tobias and Nathan for giving us their best vibes and service for the party! No request was too much, even a dance class!! They were totally amazing! And Cheffy for the awesome food!!!! Highly recommend a party there!

The Commercial Hotel provided such a splendid experience for my work to host our end of year Christmas Party! The food was amazing! Especially the Prawn skewers, sliders and Aranchini balls. They were able to cater to all dietary requirements.

Their grazing cheese board platters was also a highlight. The space was beautiful and gave us the privacy we needed to honour all our staff members hard efforts this year.

They were amazing to work with and I would happily work with them again and highly recommend them.

Do not go here if you want a fun night with friends. The food is quite good but the staff is rude and the bouncers are power trippers. We had a farewell event for a colleague here and will ever return. After 9pm only one drink is served per person, so don't expect to buy a drink for a friend. This pub is ''nanny state" on steroids and you are shuffled onto to different areas of the hotel as each section shuts down for the night. Zero fun, zero atmosphere, zero respect for patrons. It's little wonder that the pub is practically empty after 9pm. Don't waste your time going here.

Had the lunch special $18 rump with salad and chips. Good food, good service and great atmosphere.
